  3. Yup, Win8 is only £25 as digital download version. If you're thinking of using Win8 on a desktop, it's definitely smoother/faster but get used to keyboard shortcuts.

Right, go tidy your desktop and take a snap! :Celest: Make sure you have Canterlot.com up on your puterscreen, though! :Celest: If your camera has an HDR (High Dynamic Range) you'll get a better pick with your desk and computer screen as your camera will take 3 exposures and put them together. (I should have done this). Blur-out anything that might make your image unsuitable for all ages and any personal information that may be shown. Ask each other questions on their setups, they might have some tips and tricks for space-saving or anything else on their desk. My desk is kinda more kitted out for audio production than building Canterlot.com

  7. There're still several options for talking to your friends on Canterlot. One of the easiest is to simply go to the chatroom, click on your friend's name and start a private chat there.

But it's not a free service and unfortunately something I have to pay out of my own pocket. (there simply aren't enough regular donations to sustain without injection) As of writing this, we're at 511,330 messages out of 500,000 per month... and we're still growing. The push messaging service guys cancel the subscription to prevent further incurring costs so it's not really a matter of closing the chat every time we reach 500k as I then have to an re-subscribe every time.   15. All letters is fine. FFFFFF is white 000000 is black Think of the letters ABCDEF as new types of numbers. We're used to numbers like 27, 28, 29, but 30 doesn't come next. 2A, 2B, 2C, etc come next up to 2F. Then 30 comes after that. 0123456789ABCDEF - 0 the lowest and F the highest number. (0 for less colour, F for more colour) The first two numbers are Red, the next are Green and the last two are Blue. So mixing Red and Green will give yellow FFFF00 (Primary colour mixing is stuff you would have learnt as a pre-schooler).

  18. HTML users HEX code. (so your 'html colour codes' and hex codes are exactly the same). Called hex purely because it scales from 1234567890 and ABCDEF. The colour codes are normally prefixed with a hash (#).

  20. To note, we're still on daylight savings. GMT +1 So it will actually be at 7pm or the actual time of 8pm (in which that clock which isn't using BST will display 7pm)? Was was this at (bizzare time of) 7am or 8pm based on the above? Someone's not thought the timings through, methinks.
  21. My top tip: Use Canterlot.com's colour changer (paintbrush next to the search bar) to find a colour. The HEX code is given at the bottom.

The reason we don't have an 'automated' application process with neat drop down boxes etc: (the official word) Your application demonstrates to us your ability to write, format your posts, be creative and follow instructions. Providing tick-boxes and the such dumb that demonstration down. You're proving to us that you're worthy of posting in that area, basically. It's not just a means of cataloging characters. World of Equestria sections of the board are not free. They require effort and patience to get in. It's an exclusive club. There are a million and one things we could do with the site. Things could be easier. Processes could be faster. But it's what we make it. Believe me, we're WELL aware of the time frames involved and how things are run. * You can find any rules and guides to creating characters and the RP sections here: http://www.canterlot.com/page/rules * I'm afraid we can not EVER provide an ETA as to when your application will be 'processed' no matter what staff procedures are in place. I can't stress enough that we're providing this site to you out of our own pockets, so please be patient. If you have to wait 2 weeks for staff interaction on your application, so be it. It just means we're perhaps busy. We're a small team with additional voluntary help from the RP helpers. It's unfortunate that your original thread comes across as a little bit of a rant, it's perhaps not what you intended. However if you have practical suggestions please keep them informative and simplified (to the point) preferably with practical solutions rather than a poorly thought out essay like the above. When you're a little more experienced on the site you may start to understand why we have certain things in place (like tags) but until then, please consider the hundreds of other happy campers in the RolePlay group that haven't had any problems at all.

Before I read more into this and glance at "5-hour responses" (based on which timezone? 3am posts will be ignored till awake and away from our full-time jobs and school/college)... would you kindly remind me and our staff and the Staff helpers how much we're being paid to provide this service? ...wow.
