This was earned when Lynarian protected the timber wolves of Everfree Forest by creating a thick fog that temporarily hid them from view. After this day, Lynarian was permitted a home in the Everfree Forest. Origin/Residence: Everfree Forest near the Moon Palace Occupation: Defender of Wildlife/ Naturalist Motivation: To protect the wolves from harm, to bring harmony to all woodland creatures and to teach other ponies how to appreciate nature. Ability: Lynarian has an ability similar to that of Fluttershy, although it is specific to timberwolves. He can understand the needs of them and he can make the wolves can understand his intent. This is conveyed through the tone of the pony's voice and body language. Timberwolves, of course cannot understand what he is saying and Lynarian cannot control the wolves. The wolves, however, do see him as a dominant member of the pack. Lynarian can also manipulate weather like many other pegasi can, specifically being able to create a heavy fog to shroud himself and the wolves for short periods. He grew up in the orphanage in Cloudsdale, where he was known as “The Runt”, the name the other pegasi at the orphanage bullied him with. When he grew older, he flew away from Cloudsdale to escape being bullied. While flying around, he found a vast, remote area of the Everfree Forest, and decided that it would be good to continue as a hermit with no pony to bully him. While he was finding a safe place to land in this dark, dense forest, he saw that timberwolves were being chased away by ponies. This reminded him of his troubled past so he used his weather manipulation to conjure up a dense fog to allow the wolves to escape. In return, they indicated that he would be safe to live in the forest among them. This is how he got his wolf paw print cutie mark. Living in the woods, he learned that not everypony liked the timberwolves. They were always fearful and distrustful of the wolves, causing Lynarian to also be feared by the citizens of Ponyville, because the first place he was sighted was in the Everfree Forest in the company of his pack. The pegasi that bullied him in Cloudsdale claimed that they had no relationship with the mysterious “wolf-Pegasus” of the Everfree Forest. These “legends” made Lynarian withdrawn and he would only associate with the wolves because the other ponies feared him. Although he is reclusive, he rarely tends to venture into Ponyville for supplies, but due to the stories about him and his uncertainty about other ponies, he doesn’t stay long. He is skittish towards ponies, easily startled and shy, but can still muster the courage to talk to other ponies. Due to being bullied in Cloudsdale, he is particularly nervous around pegasi. Lynarian likes to stick with routines and performs daily rituals.which, although not magical in nature, he believes keep him safe. Lynarian chose his name when a timber wolf howled. When Lynarian tried copying it, it sounded like Lynarian, as he was unable to perfectly duplicate the howl. **Please note that the winds do NOT glow, only that they have lighter colored feathers at the tips of the wings.
