  1. Would he be completely immortal or that "I'll live forever but can still be killed by physical means" kind of immortal that fantasy authors like to have in their characters?
  2. What if he tried to do this "peaceful" approach thing and just gave Vader a hug?
  3. Could we develop a mobile polygraph device that they would have to wear?
  4. I think this is the house. Although when I rode past it it wasn't quite in the water yet. This might be a different house though.
  5. I have no idea. The worst one I've seen was after Hurricane Isabelle in 2003. This is what it did. Had to get over to my grandparent's house in a little motorboat. When we were going across the sound, there was half of a house sitting in the middle, on its stilts, out of the water. You could see into the kitchen and still see the appliances on the counter and all the glasses hanging from the little glass rack thing some people have. It was weird. Actually if you look at the picture towards the top right I think that's the house right there. Living in a place like this makes you appreciate how strong of a force water can be.
  6. So I come from a beach. Went home for Thanksgiving and had to wait like 4 hours to ride a ferry because Sandy destroyed a road. On my way back out decided to pay up the $25 to be loaded on a trailer and pulled across the sand where the road is dead. Got a couple of cool pics. That used to be a road. And there was probably a good couple hundred feet of sand (with 10-15 ft sand dunes) between it and the ocean. I kind of like how it looks. Here's a house. I don't know how it's still here. I guess it was built to last. You can see the downstairs door and where the ground used to be. And for anybody that's seen it or knows about it, the house from Nights in Rodanthe used to be right next to this one before it was moved to a less "oh noes the ocean tried to eat me" area. The name of this house is The Black Pearl. That's my mum's front yard in the wee hours of the morning during the hurricane. Everywhere you see water, there's grass underneath it. Hurricanes don't mess around.
  7. Wow! Thanks for this! This definitely took my birthday away from it's normal...normalcy. ^_^
  8. Yeah I know right? I'm glad it looks good. Some of them are a bit...iffy.
  9. Getting my unit patch on Saturday, after 18 months of dumb recruit private status, I'll finally get to go actually do stuff that isn't designed to just entertain me for an hour and leave me with nothing to do for 8.
  10. Everything put together. I think I did a good job with my cable management. Much better than the last time I put a rig together (stuff was everywhere). The whole setup. Creative 5.1 Surround Sound speaker system. The cables in the back are a little messy...but not much I can do about it. Front view. Dual wide-screen Acer 20" monitors. Razer Naga mouse, and a Razer Lycosa keyboard. All the LEDS on everything I have are blue, including my case fans. At some point I might get around to putting LEDS inside the case too and getting a clear side-panel.
  11. EVGA 680GTX graphics card. Made to get stuff done. ASUS Blu-Ray/DVD drive. 1TB Seagate HDD. To go with the 500GB one I already have that's getting full.
  12. Intel i7 3770k processor. With heatsink that I didn't use. Corsair H100 Water-Cooling system. I forgot to put it in ahead of time and had to go back and do it. 8 Gigs of shiny blue Corsair Vengeance RAM.
  13. Corsair 750W power supply. Complete with nifty bag of cables. ASUS Z77 Sabertooth mobo. With some kind of fancy armor stuff that makes it look like it's ready to take on a tank. And a certificate of authenticity, because it's just not complete without that. Better view of it.
  14. Barebones case after some much-needed deep cleaning. All the parts to my case. If it could come out by hand or a phillips-head, it came out and got cleaned. Annnnd it all put back together.
  15. Put together my new gaming rig a couple of weeks ago. But due to my internet being stupid and not letting me upload photos, I'm just now getting around to showing it off. My nice and shiny new desk. With black glass top and cherry wood.
  16. Because Rose is unable to view this thread, she has tasked me with assassinating it.

It's better to have something and not need it than to need it and not have it. When I want my men to remember something important, to really make it stick, I give it to them double dirty. It may not sound nice to some bunch of little old ladies at an afternoon tea party, but it helps my soldiers to remember. You can't run an army without profanity; and it has to be eloquent profanity. An army without profanity couldn't fight its way out of a piss-soaked paper bag. ... As for the types of comments I make, sometimes I just, By God, get carried away with my own eloquence - General Patton Don't look conspicuous; it draws fire. For this reason, it is not at all uncommon for aircraft carriers to be known as bomb magnets. I'm sure I have others I just don't remember. These are the ones I have posted in places so I can find them again
  18. Dear [insert deity of choice]. This might possibly the greatest thing since sliced bread.
  19. 2 words. Stupidity Deterrent.
  20. Yeah I'm sure the perpetual rain cloud cover is happiness-inspiring and makes you feel radiantly alive.
  21. I wish I was back at school for it. Going to school in the mountains means I can go out and find a mountaintop far away from populated areas with a GREAT view of the sky
  22. http://bedford-nh.patch.com/articles/when-is-the-best-time-to-watch-the-meteor-shower So who's going to go out at peak time this weekend to watch the meteors? I live on a beach so I think I'll go out on the shore and watch. Providing it doesn't rain of course.
