  1. Whatnot didn't see any reason not to try something new. The local potter Fire Clay was nice enough to give her lessons on pot making, so he trained her for a couple weeks. Whatnot was just starting to get used to the pottery wheel, using her hoof to spin the table, and her magic to slowly shape the clay into a form that looked alright. Fire Clay asked her to watch the shop for a moment while he went to deliver a particularly large pot on a cart. He was taking it to Canterlot Castle, for Princess Luna, who loved his work enough to make it a part of her home.

The blue unicorn was perfectly content multitasking, keeping an eye on things while she spun away on the wheel. But then something distracted her and the clay ended up flying off the edge and right into her face, making a loud, thick, splatter noise.

"AHH ponyfeathers!" she cursed, scrambling around carefully to find a towel, or a fountain to wash up in. She tried very hard to use her instincts to direct her away from the pottery shop. It would be fine for the moment alone. It would be better than her tripping through the store in hopes of not breaking anything. Her ears detected the sound of Main Street's fountain, the one that had a large swirly stallion statue in the center. She fumbled around for the stone, flopped over the edge, and dunk her face into the cool water. She splashed around a bit to get the clay off, that had begun to dry before she made it there.

She reared her head up, gasping for air, making a big "Brrrrrr!" as she shook her head of water.

  2. Twilight Sparkle / Pinkie Pie: I mean think about it, I think Twilight is around Pinkie Pie more out of ANYONE. They gotta have SOMETHING going on. Provoked my Pinkie Pie of course.

Applejack / Pinkie Pie: I admit, I pretty much just ship these two because my bestie and I cosplay as them, and quite adorably I might add.

Rarity / Fluttershy: They're together alot. They always go to the spa together, They're either drinking tea together, about to drink tea together, or inviting the other to drink tea. They respect each other a LOT. Rarity compliments Fluttershy on her grace and beauty, Fluttershy blushes more around Rarity than anyone. And is also more honest to her than anyone, which is saying A LOT. Rarity even treats her more gently than others as well. And after an episode like Green Isn't Your Color, if that scenario happens to two best friends, it makes their friendship even stronger.

Big Mac / Cheerilee: I think that even after they were enchanted, the two saw something in the other that they really liked. Cheerilee is bold enough to even Big Mac out, and he's very supportive and well-mannered. Plus I like the idea of Big Mac NOT being shipped with a mane cast member xD

    Lyra / Bonbon: Of course.

Rainbow Dash / Soarin' / Spitfire: A threeway relationship. It'd totally work. Spitfire flirts with Dash every chance she gets. And she loves it.

Braeburn / Little Strongheart: C'mon Spike/Rarity fans, interspecies relationships is not THAT uncommon in this fandom.

Snails / Sweetie Bell: An adorable little sweetheart of an outcast paired up with a lanky nerdy outcast. Is there anything more adorable?

Pipsqueak / ANYONE: When he's older anyway.

Thunder Land / Blossomforth: You don't think he'd feel bad getting her sick? ;D

Octavia / Vinyl Scratch: I admit, I didn't like this one at first, but thanks to the fandom, I've actually come to like it. Two musical artists with completely different tastes and personality, and yet they make an amazing couple hahaha.

Princess Celestia / Discord: Well, a relationship meant to be doomed. But love is pretty darn chaotic, there's no reason Discord wouldn't fall victim to the plague himself.

Photo Finish / Sapphire Shores: And why isn't this more popular? Photographer/model relationships TOTALLY work.

  3. I think I would have liked Felidae more if it was a kids movie, but that just me. Animation wasn't terrible and story was interesting, I guess. I didn't know what to expect upon first watching it, and I thought it was a kids movie because hey, animated cats! D:

    Also, summary of Summer Wars:

    Out-of-my-way-I-have-to-save-the-internet.jpeg

It was a good movie, but had kind of a 'what?' factor throughout. Japan, you so crazy.

Well, you have to admit, Francis did warn you LOL And considering what the movie's about, it would hardly work as a kid's movie.

  4. LOOOOOVE those movies, dude. I don't really dig on what Rotten Tomatoes says, but they're at least okay to see what people think if you don't really care.

But some of my favorite foreign movies outside of the US are:

You Are Umasou: A Japanese movie based on a children's book of the same name. This is the only dinosaur movie I personally find good since The Land Before Time. It's about a young Tyrannosaurus, who was adopted by a mother Maiasaur and raised as a plant eater. He's lived most of his life malnourished, being able only to eat berries, that is until he discovers that he is a meat eater. For a child, this is beyond frightening, you can imagine. But later on, he himself adopts a young Ankylosaurus and names him Umasou, which is Japanese for "Delicious." The movie has a very simple style, similar to that of the books, but is animated incredibly well.

Jungledryet Hugo and Hugo the Movie Star: A Danish film about an unusual animal who natives call Hugo. He's a mischievous bear/primate type of animal, very cunning and playful. Since he's the only animal of his kind, he gets abducted by humans. He escapes onto a banana boat and finds himself in the city, where he meets an equally spunky fox named Rita. It's a story about true friends and what lengths Rita goes through to make sure her best friend gets on the banana boat back to his homeland. Hugo the movie Star has a similar plot, but expands on their relationship, and shows how Hugo would really function in a forest. Again, movies with great fluid animation. I prefer the Danish version to the English version. The singing is better, and more scenes are left in silence and leaves a really big impact on the mood.

Leafie, A Hen Into The Wild: A Korean movie about a hen who escapes her barnyard and lives in the wild. Well, it goes way deeper than that. She meets a duck warrior, wards off a fearsome one-eyed weasel, and adopts a duckling as her own. It sounds very simple, but this movie has a way of yanking at your heartstrings when they've just been tugged. It's a beautiful combination of 2D and 3D, with amazing characters, designs, acting, with stunning visuals. It hadn't been translated into English yet tho.

Felidae: A German 2D animated movie, FOR ADULTS. I want to make that quite clear for those interested. It has a Disney-esque plot, about a cat named Francis who tries to solve a murder mystery. Sounds cute right? Yeah, about that. This movie is not cute. The first line in the story told by Francis himself is "I have a story to tell you, and it's not going to be pretty." And that's your fair warning. It's a frightening movie that hardly spoonfeeds it's audience, and really makes you think about more than the case our hero is trying to crack. I prefer the English version to the German version.

Summer Wars: A Japanese film about a young boy who goes to meet his girlfriend's family during the summer. Being quite computer savvy, he solves a mysterious riddle he received through email, and that sets lose the Apocalypse of all viruses called Love Machine. In this world, everything is run by one company who goes by the name of Oz, and Love Machine brings fourth unfathomable chaos to the world. It deals with the scary concept of everything being digitally run, and important family issues that I think everyone should learn. It's animated by the same people who animated The Digimon Movie and has similar concepts, only directed towards a teen/adult audience.

Since animated movies are my movies of choice, I only listed animated movies xD I recommend them to anyone tho. Well, I don't recommend cat lovers, or the easily disturbed folks to check out Felidae. I really don't.

  5. I was hoping someone would do this xD But I REALLY hope they do this for any Abridged Series of the show

The Ticket Master: Dear Princess Celestia, today I've learned that if you can't have something, then no one else can have it either.

Applebuck Season: Dear Princess Celestia, today I've learned that if you think you can handle something on your own, you can't and are completely unreliable.

Griffon the Brush Off: Dear Princess Celestia, Rainbow Dash has taught me that none of your old friends are true friends and best to make new ones to replace them.

Boast Busters: Dear Princess Celestia, I've learned that a stuck up b*tch will always be a stuck up b*tch, even when everyone has proven to her face that she's wrong.

Look Before You Sleep: Dear Princess Celestia, it's actually safe to live in a tree during a thunderstorm, but only if you're good enough to have a MAGICAL lightning rod.

Bridle Gossip: Dear Princess Celestia, it's important to know that if people are being racist, they probably have a good reason for it, and remember to always guilt trip your children into fixing your problems.

Swarm of the Century: Dear Princess Celestia, when you give your friends opportunity to explain themselves, it's okay to shun them for being vague.

Winter Wrap Up: Dear Princess Celestia, I've learned through personal experience that if you can't do the job, you can always be a manager.

Call of the Cutie: Dear Princess Celestia, only be friends with people you have stuff in common with, and never be friends with anyone who has any slight differences to you.

Fall Weather Friends: Dear Princess Celestia, it's perfectly okay to cheat, it's just ineffective if you get distracted.

Suited for Success: Dear Princess Celestia, you don't have to like the gifts someone gives you, as long as you pretend you like it after they cry about it.

Feeling Pinkie Keen: Dear Princess Celestia, God's messenger is Pinkie Pie.

Sonic Rainboom: Dear Princess Celestia, it doesn't matter how hard you've worked to win a contest, you'll never beat death-defying stunts.

Stare Master: Dear Princess Celestia, Fluttershy's taught me that the only way to get what you want is by threatening others, and the Cutie Mark Crusaders have taught me to be a terrible guest.

Show Stoppers: Dear Princess Celestia, two Cutie Mark Crusader episodes in a row seem like a bad idea, but only because you know at this point they're going to be blank flanks forever.

Dog and Pony Show: Dear Princess Celestia, I've learned that when a guy feels the need to be manly, it's best to just let them get it out of their system. They'll learn it was unnecessary later.

Green Isn't Your Color: Dear Princess Celestia, you're only successful not because of your talent, but because of your friend's talent.

Over a Barrel: Dear Princess Celestia, Peter Pan was wrong about the Indians. They do speak in full sentences. I've also learned that the only way to stop a war is if your enemies happen to like your food.

A Bird in the Hoof: Dear Princess Celestia, birds are jerks.

The Cutie Mark Chronicles: Dear Princess Celestia, my friend Rainbow Dash helped me cheat my way into a good school. I hope you don't mind.

Owl's Well that Ends Well: Dear Princess Celestia, if someone's trying to take your job, sabotage them and get them fired for a heinous crime so that it ruins their reputation and all chances at getting another job so that they may support themselves.

Party of One: Dear Princess Celestia, if you're going to lie to your friends about something, be sure that your lie is consistent. It makes it more convincing.

The Best Night Ever: Dear Princess Celestia, the best nights only happen at everyone else's expense.

  6. "A musician! That lifestyle makes much more sense now!" She face/hoofed at herself for not thinking of that sooner! Then she giggled at him using the word "groovy," "GROOVY to meet you, Dub! I'm Whatnot." She smiled sweetly at him and backed up so that he may get out of his tent. She did wonder why he moved here when he didn;t even have anyone to move in with nor a house to move in TO.

  7. "Are you the local hobo pony? Funny, I was expecting someone dirty! Or at least someone with duller colors than yours." she stated to the yellow unicorn stallion. "Or maybe I can assume that you're a happily-committed pony, and your significant other kicked you out?" Giggles escaped her mouth, tho she didn't really try to stifle them. She flicked her tail happily, waiting for a response from him.

  8. It was a bright and sunny morning in this side of Equestria. A perfect day for Whatnot to bug the Ponyvillians! She giggled to herself at the thought that "Ponyvillians" sounded like "Ponyvillains". She actually had an excuse to be there today. She had a package to deliver. As always, she was curious to open it. Were there laws against opening other ponies' mail in Equestria? She'd have to read up on the laws later. But till then, she'd have to wonder why the package felt empty.

All of the buildings and houses in Ponyville weren't all symmetrical to each other. But soft! What was that off to the side of the town? Was that... a tent?

"Ponyville has hobos? That's crazy!" She felt the urge to investigate, so she did. She sashayed over to the tent and pretended to knock. "Anypony home?" She giggled.

    Name: Bow-Tie

    Sex: Female

    Age: Mare

    Species: Earth Pony

    Pelt Color: Dark blue

Mane/Tail Color & Style: Her mane and tail is a two-toned pink, naturally wavy, and decorated with light yellow bows.

    Eye Color: Royal blue

Cutie Mark: A solitary neatly-tied white bow. She received it while helping her mother cater a wedding and she had many brilliant ideas for bow decorations. It was also around the time after she moved from Ponyville to Hoofington, and due to circumstances she uses it as a reminder that friendships need to be tied tight.

Physique: Has an average build, but still has some lovely plump to her cheeks. Her legs are also long and petite.

    Residence: Hoofington.

Occupation: None, really, but she does work as her mother's assistant. Her mother is a wedding caterer.

Motivation: To make her own dress and get married in it.

Character Summary: Bow-Tie was born in Ponyville and raised by her parents, Necktie, an earth pony, and Winged-Bow, a pegasus pony. Her parents dressed her up in nice gowns they could afford, but Bow-Tie was an incredibly rowdy filly, and always got them dirty jumping around all the time. She was always the best jumper, but only because she really wanted to be a pegasus like her mother. Whenever Winged-Bow was working and Necktie had to help, Bow-Tie would go out on her own and play, jumping up the trees and leaping from branch to branch, pretending she had wings. (She actually ventured to Sweet Apple Acres often while Wing-ed Bow was there, because many weddings called for their delicious apple champagne.) Falling from a tree branch was how she met little Applejack. They'd always play pretend and goof around while Aj worked. She even convinced her that being an earth pony was better than being any ol' pegasus (no offense to pegasai). Bow-Tie was the girliest of the two (sophisticated, expressive, well-mannered and stylish), but it still didn't stop her from having fun. Aj, along with her parents, taught Bow-Tie that honesty's the best policy. Their friendship was short-lived after Bow-Tie's family was forced to move to Hoofington for better catering business. After she moved, she began to doubt that advice. She wasn't happy there, growing up. She lost a few friends telling them blunt truth, but she couldn't help it since being honest was who she was. Eventually those "friends" no longer mattered and Bow-Tie remained an assistant for Winged-Bow. She earned her cutie mark after helping decorating a wedding. That inspired her to make her own wedding when the time came.

  10. Here's a thought: why not ask Applejack's player for a Private RP between you before joining the board proper, and play out Bow-Tie and Applejack's first meeting all those years ago? Doing an RP set in the past should be okay if it's on the Private RP section, right? Then, once the RP is finished, you go on the main boards and Bow-Tie returns to meet her old friend. Private RP still counts as board "canon" doesn't it? Would this be possible?

I wish that would work Dx But I believe it was Manestream (who I believe plays Applejack) who declined Bow-Tie's character the first time I posted her.

  11. I didn't really know where to put this exactly, but...

Okay, so due to popular demand, I'm trying to post my rendition of Bow-Tie in the RP characters. For those of you who don't know, Bow-Tie was a pony in the pilot MLP episode, along with the original Applejack, Firefly, and Twilight. She was even one of the main stars of the episode.

But what could I possibly need help with? Well, I made Bow-Tie's background involve one of the main characters, Applejack. Bow-Tie learns about the importance of honesty through Applejack when she was a filly. They only knew each other when they were young until Bow-Tie and her family moved and she was forced to put her knowledge of friendship to the test to make new ones.

Even tho it's widely seen as Sue-ish for characters to at some point know the main cast, I deemed it appropriate for Bow-Tie to previously know Applejack. It was to keep some kind of essence of the original MLP and still have an actual reason for her to know her other than they co-existed and were friends in the pilot.. But naturally I would leave it up to the Applejack roleplayer to /remember/ Bow-Tie.

Some people have suggested that I just RP with Applejack here to form a relationship presently, but it kind of defeats the purpose of her previously knowing her. It's also been suggested to just have her know Applejack like how everypony in Ponyville knows each other, on a casual level, but not a friendly one, but that seems rather empty to me and not helping my case xD

She was acceptable on the FiMRPG Proboards, but she's not so acceptable here. So I'm basically asking for some ideas to have my cake and eat it too.

  12. I love that Derpy Hooves, I think she's soooooo cute.

I'm bringing this back to life cuz I figured it'd be a nice place to just post cosplays here, good or bad xD

This picture was taken by my roommate PrettiGraffiti! Our costumes are still in the beginning stages, but here's Pretti as Pinkie Pie and myself as Applejack! I think we look pretty good, especially compared to most xD

  13. Expanded on his character and gave a better reason for phoenixes to actually be there xD And I didn't think it mattered much that I added a few made up critters of my own, especially since there's no sign of Hippocamp or Hippogriffs or Perytons in Equestria either. But I think it's okay now.

  14. [ Pony Related Character ]

    Name: Ark

    Sex: Male

    Age: Stallion

    Species: Unicorn

    Pelt Color: Purple

Mane/Tail Color & Style: Naturally curly grey and blue mane, with a single toned blue tail.

    Eye Color: Green

Cutie Mark: A fish bowl with a goldfish in it and an orange cat sitting behind it looking in.

Physique: Trimmed, but no where near as buff as many of the unicorn ponies in Canterlot. He's taller than most ponies, so about the height as the unicorn ponies seen in Best Night Ever.

    Residence: Canterlot

    Occupation: Mythical Petstore owner.

Motivation: He received his cutie mark when he stuck it to his parents that he wanted to own his own petstore instead of finishing at the unicorn academy. In more detail, it was when he was a colt, after he had hatched some thunderbird babies.

Likes: His pet(s), animals in general, helping them find a good owner, others who like animals, peace and quiet, not being teased about his profession, learning about mythical creatures.

Dislikes: Being teased by his brother and family in general. When the pets in his store get the better of him.

Character Summary: He was born in a long line of magical unicorns who worked as professors in Canterlot. He went to school just like any pony and when he was a colt, he actually had a knack for knowledge on tending to the cares of mythical creatures. He took time to learn about each one in Equestria, what foods they liked, their temperament, and their weaknesses. It was a real treat to learn about. But when it came time for him to try and figure out what he could use his unicorn magic for, he used it to find mythical creatures (at least the more common ones that wanted to be found). He and the family cat, Tomato Bisque, were on that quest for an entire day. Around dinner time, TB was getting ready to raid a bird's nest. That was when Ark discovered that the nest had 5 thunderbird eggs. He brought them home and care of them until they hatched. Now he has adorable yellow thunderbird babies following him and helping him. Their names were Thora, Tova, Taima, Temzin, and Taran. When he graduated from school, his family was intending him to further his studies in education to become a teacher at Celestia's school for gifted unicorns. However he dumped their dream when he wanted to be a store clerk. Specifically he wanted to own his own pet store. And he did. As disappointed as his family is in him, Ark's petstore is really quite impressive. It's large and shaped similar to a ziggurat (tho no where near as big as an actual ziggurat of course). There he is the local provider of dragon eggs for the school (which is his main source of business). But he also sells impressive phoenixes (he only has those because they believe they're going to find ponies true of heart who enter the building), lively thunderbirds, flying turtles, caterpillars (that turn into catturflies), miniature sea ponies (yes, he sells teeny tiny versions of those wormy sea ponies from the pilot) Diamond Dog pups and more. He also sells normal dogs and cats as well, but not as much. And he will inevitably get in trouble for selling Diamond Dog pups.

    ark-1.png

  15. Oops, I fixed it xD I figured treating him like a mermaid would be acceptable, but I guess not. And sorry about the Sea Pony thing. I actually thought that "Hippocamp" would just be translated into "Sea Pony" in this world, without having them be that weird wormy kind of Sea Pony like in G1.

  16. *stampedes over from Ponibooru*

    DID YOU DRAW THIS?! http://ponibooru.413chan.net/post/view/12644

    hjihfejwfheuiehjri hippocamps <3

U MAKE ME JEALOUS awesome designs! Freckle spots >w<

Um... can you help me come up with a good design for my hippocamp OC's Cutie Mark? I can't come up with a good design >.<

Of course I can! Just shoot me a PM of what you have of your character so far.w And yes xD The one with the braids is actually my roommate's original character Remedy that she designed. The other one isn't anyone special, but she shares Sugar Kelp's cutie mark cuz I was lazy LOL

  17. hi hi

When I first saw: "Oh, I brushed it," on ponibooru it made me smile. And the expressions in "still wanna hang out?" are great. They kind of remind me of some friends I know who always have a semi-sarcastic quip on hand for any occasion. :D

Hahaha aww, thanks! I think I know what you mean xDD

I love them all, but I'm most fond of BowTie + AJ. Bow Tie's cutie mark feels like it was designed by a pro.

You really think so? 8DD Thanks!

    You did all those?!

    AWESOME!

I've been seeing an influx of Spitfire are on Ponibooru, and most of it is yours!

Spitfire is awesome! Those all look great! : D

    YEP! I yam responsible!
