    Until there is a Diamond Dog lore that becomes approved as site canon to use, I would suggest that you focus on creating a diamond dog that seems to follow any patterns or information that can be gleaned from the show. Also, remember that different types of RP here on canterlot will mean different levels of acceptance for non-pony characters. For example, FFA would allow you to play any kind of diamond dog character right now, without any type of requirements. There would be some reasonable limitations for CC, and to my current knowledge there is no current implementation plan for Diamond Dogs in the WoE RP, however *I could be wrong* about that. I do not know what Rosewind and Dio have in mind for the RP at this time.

    Maybe, just stick to something you could see happening in the show, and be open to feedback.

    These were very thoughtful gifts, and have garnished much attention in my home we put the second item in our scrapbook). Thank you very much for the thoughtfulness

    It has been a real pleasure pouring my heart into the community here. I remember joining this community as a member its first day, and sharing the news that I was proposing to my sweetheart with other excited individuals here. This forum even celebrated my wedding with me. I have deep, fond, loving memories of the community here, and I have made friends for life. However, as my career and personal life have been taking off, it has become painfully aware that my time to offer to this site has become increasingly limited, and the community here deserves better than that from me.

    I am still going to be around, and I look forward to interacting with everyone here in ways that I previously could not. I have the utmost faith in our successors, and I know that they are supported by an excellent team of RP Helpers, SRP's, and mods. I am looking forward to bright days for the community here. :)

    Thank you all, for being the best community I've ever had the pleasure to serve.

    I only spoke to her a few times over twitter. I think she helped to bring out some of the best things in the community: caring, sharing, and value in friendship. Its always sad to see anyone of any age in her situation, and I hope that we can practice what we've learned in the future without any other reason than 'it brightened a young girl's day when it mattered most'. I hope I can learn to practice that kind of grace all the time.

  13. The Crystal Empire - A Legend Rediscovered

    The northern reaches of Equestria holds many questions for all. A vast expanse of frozen tundra, ravaged by howling winds, deathly cold, and dark, jagged shadows have turned many explorers and would-be adventurers away. Those that set foot too far into the north simply became a part of it, to never be heard from again. For the last thousand years many mysteries lay beneath the deep snow, behind the jagged mountain tops that served to separate the land of ice from the rest of the world.

    Until now.

    A new chapter for the North has begun, the Crystal Empire, recently rediscovered and saved from the clutches of King Sombra- once again shines as the gem of the North!

    Recent cooperative efforts between Equestria and the Crystal Empire have made great galloping strides in returning the ancient city to its former glory. As legends have it, The Crystal Empire once spanned a distance larger than Equestria's borders today- but most of the Empire and its lands still lay in deep slumber beneath a deep coat of frozen snow. Only the central city, also known as Crystal Spire remains. It is said that wendigos, dragons, and worse still lurk the frozen wastes that once belonged to the Crystal Empire; perhaps hidden amongst those wastes are safe havens to be found where the original three pony tribes once passed through. There is much to do- knowing this, Princess Cadence and Shining Armor have taken it upon themselves to help restore the Empire to its former glory, and to bring warmth back to the homeland of the Crystal Ponies!

    Since the events leading to King Sombra's defeat and the reactivation of the Crystal Heart, trade has sprung up between Equestria's Capital, Canterlot, and the Crystal Palace, bringing in much needed resources and traffic to the isolated city. To aid this effort, a high-speed railroad has been constructed through the northern mountains that separate the borders of Equestria and the Crystal Empire- cutting what would be weeks of travel time into a day-long trip. For the first time in a thousand years- the Crystal Empire is open to everypony!

    Adventurers, traders, and ponies empathetic to help are all making their way to the Crystal Empire to find their place in this exciting new frontier!

    The Crystal Gates- The gates into the Crystal Empire, one of the empire's most unique and important features.
    The Crystal Plaza - The Central Crystal Plaza and the podium at its core where the precious Crystal Heart is kept.
    The Crystal Markets - The Crystal Empire's Market District is one of the busiest and most important places to know.
    The Crystal Palace - The home of Cadence and Shining Armor.
    The Crystal Empire Farm District  - Homeland to the cute little ewes, and fertile farmlands of the Crystal Empire.
    The Crystal Empire Arts District- An entire district dedicated to the artistic talents of the Crystal Ponies.
    The Crystal Empire Residential District - Where all the crystal ponies make their homes.

  14. Donations Temporarily Down.

    Some of you have noticed that the Donations feature has been removed. There have been some issues with payments processing, and once those issues are verified as fixed, we will re-introduce the donation feature again.

    Thank you to those that have expressed your generosity, we appreciate your patience in this matter, and will let everypony know when the feature is up and running again!

    I personally feel that the creators' and producers' efforts are best respected when leaked material isnt accessed or spread around (take the Fighting is Magic example), and as such I would certainly prefer if individuals who have watched the leaked episode waited until tomorrow to post about it along with the rest of us.

    However, if you absolutely must get those dirty-little-secrets out (shame on youuuuuu!), then I would rather it be done in this thread which is well guarded as a known spoiler thread.

    Looking forward to watching it tomorrow with everypony. :)

    It's canon that Lyra and BonBon know each other, and that they talk, have hugged, and even rubbed noses. The simplest form of what the show shows us is canon.

    Head-canon: anything assumed, suggested, or extrapolated from canon, that the show does not actually confirm.

    It's canon that Lyra and Bon Bon have some type of friendship- but until the show says *what* that relationship means to them, any further assumption or wishful thinking is simply head-cannon.

    I'm a Lyra-Bon supporter, but I just thought I'd be clear on what constitutes cannon and head-cannon :)

    Rosewind has offered a beautiful explanation and some great advice of the situation, but dont forget that we do have other RP options available that do not have the steep requirements of Mane RP. If you would like to pursue an RP with a darker element, or tackling more adult issues, we do have a crossovers forum and a free-for-all forum at disposal for you to use as well.

    I'm sure many of you have been wondering lately about the calm our board has gone through the last few months, and find yourselves tapping your hooves to your muzzles and wondering "Hey, did I sleep through a holiday?"

    You most certainly did not!

    The next thing you might wonder is "Did Manestream sleep through the holidays? Was she pony-knapped?! Did she go wandering to deep into the Ever-free forest and get turned into stone?!"

    I most certainly did not to at least two of those!

    But I have certainly been busy. Some ponies are concerned that the lack of events means the forum is undergoing some peril; I assure you that is not the case. The forum is still steadily growing in members, and the Canterlot staff is still chugging along while I sort out some personal business in my life.

    "What business is that you might ask?" :-o Well let me tell you!

    I have recently gotten married, and moved into a new home. To make ends meet, I was working a full time job, while training part time for a new job. Amidst all that, my grandmother's health declined, and we had a second, special, private ceremony for her. Since then, I have received a third job offer out of the area, and have been commuting to pursue that career. I have just recently lost a family member, and will be undergoing another move within the next 40 days. Needless to say, it has been a very busy time in my life- and despite how much I love this community and fandom; my family (and putting food on the table, and a roof overhead) has to come first.

    The good news is that future prospects are very good. Thanks to diligence over the last few months (despite a few Twilight-Sparkle style breakdowns), my partner and I both have better jobs lined up, and I will be able to access Canterlot at work, allowing me immediate turnaround in regards to board issues.

    "So Mane, what does this all mean?"

    While it is a disappointment that recently I have been unable to work with the staff on releasing events for you all to enjoy, in no way have I lost interest in the site, and already the staff and I are working together to bring the Crystal Empire and Crystal Ponies to the RP. Since I will soon be working only one job, my time for the site will increase, and you should all see a very exciting 2013, in which the staff and I hope to release a lot of long-talked about events and changes to the RP.

    In light of that,

    I want to take this opportunity to thank my co-admin Artax and our staff for working so hard on this site while my time was so thin. They have worked tirelessly to keep this place running, and are bursting with energy to take our RP further than its been before with new ideas. Please give a shout-out to all of them for keeping this place running, alive, and healthy- they devote a lot of their personal time and their hearts to this place, so show them some love!

    And you, our users, deserve a shout-out too. Thank you for investing your time here, in our community, and being what makes it great. The staff and I can plan from dusk until dawn, but without you- its all for nothing. So thank you for being a part of what makes us great :)

    I'm looking forward to whats coming ahead, and hope you are all as excited about it as I am. Thanks for your patience and understanding, and for being the best each of you can be. Its so rare that so many people come together to practice being better to one another- to practice the basic morals of the show we love.

    I'm proud to be a part of this community.
