  1. From what Ive found just looking through the getting started section and asking around, ManeRP is for the ponies that fit the template they set up, working within the "canon" for the actual show. Crossover seems to be the catch-all for "other", people making x-overs of MLP/stargate, /half-life, /etc. or playing "what-if" alternate histories with MLP. A fair number of my eventuial planned characters will likely end up in Crossover... I see that somepony here apparently has the same "grooming for bigger things" vibe I do about the crazy adventures Celestia puts Twilight through, since one of the sub-groups of crossover is Equestria 1000 years from "now", under the rule of Princess Twilight...
  2. yes, if nothing else, you can make your post quota just replying to everyone saying Hi to you like I did in mine.
  3. Ah thanks! BTW, if I hit that icon, will there be a field to note why I hit it? I dont want to accidentally cause anyone problems while you try to sort out a "why was this flagged?" by trial and error, and that's not something I want to hit as a test for the same reason. Thanks again, -BH
  4. I've been checking out some of the character logs as I read through the threads, but some of them hare off to some page called Equestria.com and that the info is not to be found. Whats the story on that?
  5. And you also have to survive the agonizing wait for the application process to finish... *chews on his forehooves nervously....*
  6. Ohhh THERE it is. Lets see if this works... (edit) YAYYYY! Thank you! (does a full minute of Twilight Sparkle "Yesyesyesyes...etc." )
  7. I think I'm missing something. I do not see anything related to the addy scrolling down to the bottom of the screen. A URL appears on the border if I hover my mouse pointer on the thumbnail. When I click the picture, the screen turns black, and the picture unfolds on the screen. I right click and end up with the mucked up addy I put up as an example n my last post. I am using Internet Explorer for this board. I'll try this with Firefox after I post... *edit* Okay, Firefox seems to have an extra line that lets me check image info, but I see nothing about the thumbnail's BB code,
  8. Ok, I seem to be missing something here... the address applenitrox came up with; gallery/image.php?mode=medium&album_id=75&image_id=356 is different from the one I ended up with; gallery/image_page.php?album_id=75&image_id=356&sk=t&sd=d&st=0 Anypony have any ideas where I'm goofing up?
  9. Hmmmm.... *takes the working link from applenitrox apart and tries inserting the number for the second picture.... http://canterlot.com/gallery/image.php?mode=medium&album_id=75&image_id=344
  10. strange, I have no image option when I right click on either the thumbnail or the picture when I left click it open. my options are; Open link Open link in new Tab Open link in New Window Save Target As Print Target as ---------------------- Save Picture Save Pictrure As Email Picture Print Picture Go To My Pictures Set as Background ---------------------- cut copy copy shortcut (the first one I have tried) paste ---------------------- add to favorites ---------------------- Properties

  12. Ok, I seem to be having a little trouble adding my character pic to my application. I'm gonna test here untill I can figure out whats wrong...
  13. BTW, how do I know when I'm done enough to put in the "final" tag?
  14. I shuld be adding the character pic sometime tonight, but I started to wonder something. I was holding off on posting the sister's char sheet in applications until I could get the bugs ironed out in the brother's sheet and make her app process quicker, but should I go ahead and post her anyway? Her sheet has been updated alongside his sheet at every step.
  15. (some of this will be the insomnia talking, but I'm having fun reading these things...) "Umm... he showed the depths of Rarity's character by portraying himself as shallow as the puddle he threw her cape on as a stark contrast? " *voice pipe up from behind Hoss* "Ummm... He's HAWT?" "Shanna, SHHhhh! I'll post you in applications soon enough." "Okay..." -Hoss (and Shanna)
  16. Dear Princess Celes... Um, Dear Princess Luna, Tonight I learned that the medicine for my lung congestion can cause insomina, and your nights are indeed beautiful. I hope your sister will understand when I sleep in tomorrow... Your admiring subject, -BH
  17. The questions here about Diamond Dogs brought to mind something else I have been thinking about after watching the shows and reading some of the fanfics. Gemstones there that could buy a mansion here are used in Equestria for the same decorative uses as costume jewelry or smooth river stones. And the dragons each horde hundreds of tons just to eat for meals. This leads me to believe gems are extremely common while gold is relatively rare since it's used for money. Would it be off-base to assume that the forces that created Equestria set things up so that dragons would either not go hungry or not deplete the gem resources? The minerals regenerating within a lifetime from microscopic crystals in the way the medieval miners actually thought minerals would after a while, like forests grow back? In a universe full of magic, those legends were the first thing I thought of, especially since Rareity's first find was a giant node similar to a geode, but packed with a potporii of precious gemstones that never occur here on earth in the same spot. It also oddly lends itself to Pinkie Pie's tale of living on a rock farm, shifting crops from field to field... If any of this makes sense, what does this mean for the diamond dogs? Would there be regions where say, diamonds or rubies are worth something simply because they dont grow there while the next country over is swimming in that type?
  18. Heh, well I thought I was done... Since they are starting out they cant have gone too many exotic locations just yet except with their parents when the mother went to observe events. Does the land of the zebras have a name just yet?
  19. Thanks, I'll see what I can do in a bit. just checking in before a trip to town... bbl.

Physique: Trim, athletic type, similar to Soarin of the wonderbolts. Motivation: Investigating the wonders of the world, particularly the sky. Likes: Flying, making friends, parties, cupcakes, the beautiful night sky, adventures Dislikes: bullies, cold days, getting in trouble with his sister. Character Summary: This flashy stallion was born in Cloudsdale as one of a set of twins to Thunderstar of the Weather Patrol, and the lovely mare, Starbright, one of the Astronomers of the Cloudsdale Observatory. After some thought, the twins were each given a two-part name to remind them that while they were so alike, they were still unique. As it was, the parents were not really surprised when the twins received virtually the same cutie mark the night they were allowed to stay up and watch a meteor shower during a family trip to the distant land where the zebras live. During the flight, their parents had taught them celestial navigation and to always use the North Star and they would never be lost. Apparently the lessons took since they each have what seems to be a representation of that star for their cutie mark. The twins love of the night sky has been deeply instilled by the work of their mother, who among her other observations faithfully tracked the movement of four stars mentioned in older texts. Even if no one else seemed to care before the event, she had ordered her family grounded at the time of the alignment and "the day of the long night" as she called it, keeping them safe when Nightmare Moon escaped. Like certain other ponies, the twins had their share of problems with bullies and jerks in flight school, but teamwork with each other and a larger circle of friends saw them through the rough spots in flight training. Even so, his adventurous spirit still gets him into trouble his sister would rather avoid... Their entry into the Weather Patrol was expected of them by their father, but they enjoy it as their father personally taught them the ins and outs of taming the weather and riding the stormfront winds at greater speed to warn the teams of storms too big for them to handle alone. Now, after their 18th birthday, both he and his sister are starting out as trainee astronomers. As such, they are tasked with doing much of the field work for some of the fully accredited Astronomers in Cloudsdale and Canterlot, particularly their mother now that she's starting to slow down. When not in the field, they handle some of the workload in calculating the data in predicting when important celestial events will occur and where the best viewpoint will be. They sometimes end up in the wrong place, but that is taken as being important data as well since the object is not behaving as expected. In their fieldwork, they will be travelling from place to place to get the best view of celestial events, steadily broadening their range of locations to observe from. This range currently stretches from Cloudsdale, Fillydelphia, Canterlot, and over to Rockwington. They even observed a comet from Appleoosa, trying out a new camera system on it. (If seen in passing by other players in the afternoon or evening, one or both twins may be towing a 10' long collapsible telescope made in Cloudsdale, in it's 4' long travel case on a small pegasus cart.) Along with all this, unless they get clearance for a long trip, they are also expected to perform their duties in the Weather Patrol in the daytime. *secret* One thing he had never told anypony was that one of the things that had fascinated him the most about the night sky as a foal was the shape of the Mare in the Moon. Now that she is actually on Equestria in the flesh, he's afraid others would laugh at his foalhood dreams of meeting the mare, or worse, she would... (Now expanded a bit more. I hope the formatting works this time. Is the travel telescope ok? I see in the show that Cloudsdale has an observatory with a huge telescope, which is what gave me the idea for astronomers in the first place. I also added the secret dream in case spending the happiest time of his life watching the skies with his mother isn’t sufficient motivation. ) ((Thanks to AppleNitrox for a corrected image link)) http://canterlot.com/gallery/image.php?mode=medium&album_id=75&image_id=356
