  1. Honeywing blushed at the comment and wickered with pride "Oh, it's nothing, really. I studied with the weather teams, among other things, for a while before I joined the couriers. Most clouds are really sturdy, it's just the tiny ones that need extra attention, and even then, only when there's something special about them." He said, smiling fondly at Glitzen as he said the last part. It was in the right spot, he decided, and quickly returned to his place beside the other pegasus, nuzzling into him as the show started. Admittedly, he wasn't paying much attention to it. This was the second time he'd been inside the Palace, and the first time he'd been on a date with Glitzen, so his mind was occupied, to say the least.
  2. Tourmaline looked up at the older dragon with a quizzical expression on his face, asking "Pet?". He tried to follow the other's gaze when he turned, but Tourmaline only saw a bunch of ponies. Maybe one of them had food..? But there was already food here, so there was no reason to worry about more. That just seemed silly, really...Maybe older dragons had other things they needed too. Tourmaline wondered for a moment if it had something to do with the Fire...
  3. Trading companies. Transporting imports and exports from port to port. I can expand on it a bit more, if you'd prefer, though.
  4. Name: Dame Silverplume Sex: Female Age: Mare Species: Unicorn Pelt Color: Dull silver âˀ Žâˀ Žâˀ Ž Mane/Tail Color & Style: Bouffant mane of a pale ivory color, her tail is styled to match. âˀ Žâˀ Žâˀ Ž Eye Color: Icy blueâˀ Žâˀ Žâˀ Ž Cutie Mark: Silver spirograph on a midnight blue disk Residence: Canterlot, though she maintains homes in Hoofington and Rockwington as well. Occupation: Independantly Wealthy Motivation: She's very much aimless in life, but not such that she's in a state of despair. Character Summary: Born to two trade moguls, Baros Plumebit and Anita Silverlain, Silverplume never had to work for a living, and discovered a propensity for manipulating metals early in life. When she was a filly, before she even knew how to read she found out that she could twist and turn metals, especially soft metals like silver and gold, into any shape she sets her mind to. One year, when asked to demonstrate the talent, she took one of her own sterling bracelets and stretches it into a fine thread, which she then wove into a filigree hairband which she used to hold her mane back. Her teachers and classmates were all very impressed, but she herself seemed unphased by it, and didn't even notice her cutie mark appearing until her mother asked about it later. She was literally handed everything she could want in life, provided she behaved, which has led to her having very little desire for anything, and no strong desires at all. Life is, according to her, quite dull. She took over her parents' shipping companies when they retired, eventually combining them into one single trade corporation, but that more or less runs itself these days so she's free to pursue whatever she will. This is often just wandering around one of the three cities in which she maintains estates, though only out of a sense of convenience as she attaches no real sentimental value to them in particular. With a detailed cutie mark.
  5. The pale-pelted pegasus carefully extracted himself from Glitzen and, after a quick peck on the snout, pirouetted off the cloud. He spread his wings almost immediately to catch himself, then flapped them to regain height and position himself under the cloud. After that, he started nudging the nimbus, carrying his coltfriend with it to a higher altitude. Once he was satisfied, he swooped around behind the other stallion and started fine-tuning the actual positioning. "This is...always the tricky part...Gotta get it juuuust right...Or the cloud falls apart. He explained quietly to the fashionista.
  6. The younger dragon's belly grumbled again at the mention of meat. "Meat is hard to get. Hunt for it, but not in pony-town. Ponies get mad when hunt." He said, finally taking the initiative to stand again. He smelled lots of food on the way in, but most of it looked like pony food. And not much of that at all. Plus all the tables were taller than he was, so he couldn't get at the food anyway without climbing more than he wanted to tonight.
  7. Soarin' grinned and pointed to the chip, admittedly small, in the rim "They're damaged, see? So I was thinking they'd make an awesome souvenir for that pony I was talking to before to give to his fillyfriend! You know the boss doesn't like us to use damaged gear, and it would make her night!" He said, rambling excitedly about the idea. He adds in a quick "Plus, it'll be a way to pay for the pie he brought. We can even share it if you want!" with a childish grin. Clearly he was proud of himself for coming up with the idea, something usually not his area of expertise.
  8. Soarin', not paying attention, carefully signs the rim of one of the goggles, then picks them up and starts looking for Spitfire. Given that she was right beside him, though, he just sat them back down again and said, excitedly "Oh, hey! D'you mind signing these? I'm gonna do something really cool with them!" He asked her, beaming proudly while he scanned the crowd for the pony he'd met before. Where WAS he..? In either case, he also started waving the other Wonderbolts over to the table, intending to get the whole team to sign the goggles and the band.
  9. Honeywing smiled at Glitzen's statement, then looked up at the sky. "I think the show is starting, the fireworks are over. If you want to go catch it, now would be a good time. Or we could move the cloud up a bit and watch from here." He said, nuzzling into the other pegasus a bit more. The night was clear and cool, just like he liked, and the cloud was stable as it always was under the supervision of a pegasus. In short, it was a wonderful night to cuddle up with somepony, and he was a little reluctant to leave.
  10. "'Gala'? Lots of ponies, but not a lot of dragon food. Lots of pony food, and lots of pony...uh...not-hide? You have not-scales too, never seen dragons with." He said, seeming to have only just noticed what Iggy was wearing. This was easily the largest collection of ponies he'd ever seen, and the first time he'd ever seen a group of ponies with almost all of their pelt covered up. He wondered what the other dragon was thinking about. It was the first dragon he'd met that hadn't yelled at him and thrown him out, but it was also the first dragon he'd met in a pony town as big as this one.
  11. Soarin' trotted into the VIP section after the show. The show had been spectacular, even in spite of the rock hitting his goggles. Okay, so that stunt didn't go QUITE as planned, there was a small chip on the rim, but nothing that would qualify as excessively damaged. Still, when he finally cleared the ropes, he slipped them off and looked around to see who else was still in the lounge. Usually the manager would give them a few minutes to wind down before anyone would be allowed in, but they usually still found a way to get past the bouncers. He chuckled a little and trotted over to the autograph table to grab a pen, he had a promise to keep at any rate.
  12. Soarin' shoots Star Chaser an appreciative smile as he signs his name under Spitfire's on the poster. The two of them were next to each other on that particular poster, so it didn't take much to get it under himself as well. "Sorry I can't write more, little guy, We gotta run through some last minute checks, then it's showtime! You guys have the best seats in the house if you have VIP Passes, but we need to be out there to give you the show, heh." He said, thankful he'd heard his predecessors saying the same thing year after year before him. "And Star Chaser is one of the best experts on the stunts we'll be doing, I'm sure she'd love to show off for you!" He flashed the little crowd a broad smile and backed through the ropes to the staging grounds.
  13. Soarin' nodded politely and smiled to the two regulars. He didn't need to ask how THEY got in. Instead he turned his focus to the odd pony with the strong accent. He had an idea that was probably gonna knock both of their socks off, but he was sure there wouldn't be any problems. In the meantime, though, his ear twitched when he heard their manager announce 5 minutes to showtime. "Oh, man. I understand completely! I'll tell you what, hang around until after the show, and I'll give you something even better than a gala ticket!" Soarin' announced to the earth pony with a sly grin. "I promise, just hold tight and you won't be disappointed! You can even watch the show from here! But don't get any autographs yet!"
  14. "Mmmm. Should probably figure out when the show is, then. I don't usually catch their shows, actually, since I normally spend the summers in Cloudsdale anyway and the Acadamy is a GREAT place to watch them practice the moves with it overlooking the training grounds a bit. This'll be a nice change of pace, since I didn't get to watch that this year." Honeywing replied, though he was still much more focused on Glitzen than the Thundercolts. Er, Wonderbolts. He nuzzled into the other stallion and kissed his ears. "I just want this night to be as amazing for you as it's turning out for me."
  15. The young dragon quirked his head and blinked at the well-dressed older dragon. "Is that the pony town's name? I wandered here, wasn't watching." Tourmaline said, having already finished off the gemstones. This dragon seemed almost as nice as ponies were. Even if the ponies here seemed always so busy. Maybe the dragons here were the ponies everywhere else. But that was silly. "Lots of ponies here. Not a lot of dragons."
  16. 'Who kept letting these ponies in here?' Soarin' thought to himself with a nervous chuckle. "It smells pretty good, thanks! I've got to go on soon, but drop it off by that table over there, and we can hang out when the show's done." He said with a smile. Sure, fans being in the lounge before the ropes drop was a little hassle, but it was nice to remember why they were doing this. He wasn't just some pegasus in a fancy costume. He was a Wonderbolt! A hero and role model to pegasi everywhere. He had this. "Can I do anything for you? It's nice knowing I won't have to take up the buffet after a show, heh." He said, sounding much more confident.
  17. Tourmaline's eyes went wide as dinner plates as he took the gems from the other dragon. He said a quick "Thank you! I'm Tourmaline!" before unceremoniously putting both gems into his maw and chewing loudly on them. This was the first dragon he'd seen in a pony town, and the first one who didn't throw him out of their lair. He must have lots and lots of gems if he was willing to let the little dragon have these, and to give them to him himself!
  18. "Well, there's the Wonderbolt performance, if you want to see that, and the ballroom, and the buffet." Honeywing said offhandedly, his focus on Glitzen rather than the events. He kissed the stallion's ears and sighed contently. He wasn't entirely sure when anything started, as he hadn't paid attention to the signs on the way in, or the billets. But he was confident they'd know. Besides, the firework display was impressive, and they could see that from where they were.
  19. Soarin' looked at the newcomer and the ex-Wonderbolt and flapped his wings self-consciously. He remembered hearing about the red one, of course, Tomas, or Torrent, or something like that, but they'd been neck deep in applicants at the time and there were never many spots open. That still was no excuse to be back here so close to show-time, but the blue pegasus found it hard to be mad at the little guy, so he just let Spitfire handle things. Star Chaser, on the other hoof, was something closer to home. That accident was likely contributing to his jitters now, come to think, since this would be their first major appearance without the more experienced mare. "Thanks! Hopefully we can pull it off the way we practiced. It'll be tough without you, though." Soarin' said, unsure what else to do or say.
  20. The pale-pelted pegasus sighed softly and returned to nuzzling with Glitzen contently. He felt amazing, even though he was only a few feet off the ground, and not flying at all. And all thanks to the pegasus beside him. "Not that I'd be unhappy if the whole night went like this, but what do you want to do later? There's a lot to see, and I still only showed you a little bit of the inn and the way here of the city." he asked with a soft smile on his lips. He wanted this night to be more than good for Glitzen. He wanted it to be perfect.
  21. Ears working, fins not broken, nose seemed to be smelling still, but there was an awful lot of black in his vision all of a sudden. The little dragon blinked and turned his head, then realized that the sounds were directed at him. And they were words. He stopped and thought for a second, then said "I...hard, yes. Too many ponies, wasn't looking ahead.".
  22. Soarin' grunted a little and shook his head. "Ugh, I don't even wanna THINK about food right now. My stomach is still in knots, and the butterflies are doing number seventeen, heh." He said, before standing up straight again. "But I guess the show must go on, right? We've only got a few more...long...minutes to wait....doing nothing...before it starts...Hey, you wanna go-Oh, Woah!" He started, before his partner was suddenly stumbled into, causing the pegasus to automatically backwing a good foot or two to avoid a similar collision.
  23. Honeywing blinked as the new pegasus showed up, apologized, and left, turning a darker shade of pink from the embarrassed blush creeping over his form. However, rather than let his embarrassment ruin the evening as usual, the pegasus just swallowed past the lump in his throat and nuzzled into Glitzen again. "Youth...I think...But yes, it's a nice night, and the sights are gorgeous." He said, looking pointedly at GG with a coy grin.
  24. There was one visitor to the castle this night who hadn't been invited, and wasn't on the guest lists. A little dragon with scales so deep in colour they looked black had been wandering through the pony-party, his stomach gurgling lightly as he looked from pony to pony. The ponies all seemed very lively, even if he wasn't sure exactly how he got here. Or where here wa- His thoughts were abruptly interrupted when his blind wandering carried him straight into a column.
  25. "Yeah..." Honeywing sighed as he laid his head on Glitzen's. The cloud was totally worth it. Best hour he'd ever spent working with the weather, bar none. He stretched a wing out and draped it over GG, suddenly conscious of the cool evening air. "This is shaping up to be a good first date if I do say so myself, GG. The night looks promising, don't you think?"
