Glitzen giggled as Honeywing kissed his ears, "Heheh, darling I'm having a wonderful time, and as long as you're near, the night can only get better!" he said smiling at Honeywing; the night was wonderful, no worrying about deadlines, no wondering if the customers were satisfied, no running around hither and yon to get JUST the right fabric for the garment, none of that, just him and Honeywing, the world could be crashing down around them and he wouldn't know.

Dark smiles at Mal, "It's not so bad, the eye thing doesn't bother me in the least, I honestly think you look nice." he said as Mal took his hoof and, to his surprise, started to lead; she was rather good at it too, which took Dark aback a bit which caused him to blush a little bit, he never had to follow before, "I err hmm...Yeah...as I said I think you look pretty nice..." he said nervously just before she stopped to let him lead, "Heheh, it's alright really, hehe, uh...here we go." Dark said as he took the lead this time, his motions more fluid and his form well done, years of being forced to ballroom dance finally payed off as he led the mare in a surprisingly nice waltz.

It was a bright and sunny day as Dark Core, the self proclaimed greatest evil mage in all of Equestria sauntered into town, he despised days like this, so his already evil mood was amplified by the beating sunshine, 'Blast this heat!' he thought to himself, 'and blast these foolish ponies too! Soon they shall all tremble in fear at me' he laughed evilly, "FOR I AM THE MASTER OF ALL THINGS DARK MUWAHAHAHAHAHAH!" he shouted at the top of his lungs, everypony stopped and stared at the strange young colt, "Oh....uhh did I say that out loud? Hehehe....I was uhh practicing for a play, yeeesss that's it, a play!" Dark said hoping the crowd would dissipate, luckily it seemed everypony was in a hurry today, 'Hehehe, they bought it!' he laughed to himself. 'Now where to begin my reign of evil~' looking around a decent sized building, shaped like a Gingerbread House, caught his eye, 'Ahhaaa! A cake shop! peeeerrrrrfect' he thought rubbing his hooves together in a maniacal fashion, 'Now, how to get in there unseen...', watching for people who may be entering the shop, Dark jumped behind a couple who were going in and snuck quickly behind a large display case, 'Huzzah, Operation...uhh....Drat I really need to start writing things down! Now where is the kitchen' he mumbled to himself, 'Ahhhh there it is!' Dark said as he made a dash for the kitchen, 'ACK!', he thought as he tripped on his long cloak, luckily enough he rolled into the kitchen undetected, or at least he hoped so. "Now to get to work muweheheheh." he chuckled to himself, pondering on what to do first.

Ahh, so he wasn't from around here, just as Ignus had expected; the young dragon's speech pattern seemed to show he was probably a 'wild' dragon, not that it mattered much to Iggy, "Heh, well most are either up at Celestia's University working as assistants, or just didn't want to come to a fancy dress party like this one; but yeah, this is Canterlot, home of the two Princesses, Celestia and Luna, they're both really nice, thought Luna seems to be a tad more self reserved than her elder sister." the white dragon stated as he tried to decide which of the Princesses was better looking, returning his thoughts back away from that he smiled at Tourmaline, "So how are you enjoying the Gala tonight bud?"

"Don't worry my dear, it's not too hard at all!" Tarisio said with a kind smile all the while scouting out easy targets, it wouldn't be too hard to nab a necklace or two, perhaps a bracelet here and there, though it might be a bit harder with him trying to keep this mare entertained; curse his love of the ladies, it never makes anything easier, but he wouldn't have it any other way; though he was glad Strongwing wasn't here to scold him for the millionth time; as a waltz came on from the band Tarisio smiled and gently started to lead Starflower through the steps of the dance, "Now it's just like this...then this...and this..." he flowed her through the steps with relative ease.

"Perhaps the peryton thought it to be a gesture to show kindness and 'no hard feelings' in an attempt to dissuade you from future mishaps of chaos induced flames?" Dark said pondering on the matter for a moment while listening to Mal speak of the reason that her magic is a bit off, it didn't matter much to him if her magic was good or not, but he nodded and listened all the same; as she finally came to answer his question of a dance he smiled, he had expected to get smacked or yelled at or worse, but he was pleasantly surprised, "Great, I've been getting a tad rusty, and if I'm to mingle I could use some practice after all, and it does help to have a nice looking partner." he said with a nod as the music coming from the ballroom could be heard changing to a waltz, "Ahh! A waltz, well Malediction, shall we?" the 'villain' said holding out his hoof with a smile, completely unaware of the sneaking earth pony lurking not too far away.

Tarisio smiled at Starflower's blushing, it seems his silver tongue had worked its delicate magic on yet another lady; it wasn't too difficult for the Pirate, he was rather dashing and well dressed, and it helped to know how to pull heartstrings, "Wonderful, I was hoping to have a dancing partner for the evening, and don't worry madam, I can show you the ropes, you're in good claws with me~" the charming griffon said as he gently took her hoof in his claw and lead her on to the ballroom.

"Oh whoa, that's pretty wicked; yeah it was really shivy to meet the Princess, never got to talk to royalty before!" Dubstep said with a smile before starting on his rant about Neon, the pop princess who stole his heart, "Heh, yeeeaah~ Neon's...oh man words can't describe, she's just like, so gorgeous ya know? It's like, they broke the mold when they made her...her eyes, her mane, her smile, it's just...ahhh so perfect heheh" he said wearing a goofy grin, his dual coloured eyes sparkling behind his silver shuttershades.

Ignus smiled as he watched the young dragon gnaw happily on the chocolate flavoured gemstones; they were a personal favourite of his that he loved to share whenever he had the chance, "Not a problem at all! It's nice to meet you Tourmaline; never seen you around before, are you new to Canterlot?" the slim dragon asked as he snacked on a few diamonds from his plate; this almost pitch black dragon didn't look familiar to Iggy, and he had been in Canterlot for years, so it was rather rare to see a new dragon come to the city; perhaps he was here as a helper to a unicorn or something.

"Ooooh!~ The ballroom, that sounds simply divine Honey!" Glitzen said with a twinkle in his eye, he always enjoyed dancing, though he never had many chances aside from the occasional school dance back when he went or family gathering, other than that not much, "And the Wonderbolt's performance is ALWAYS spectacular, I watched them now and then when the visited Cloudsdale; but of course your opinion matters too, what do YOU want to do sweetheart?" GG asked looking back to Honeywing after gazing up at the stars and the moon, the heavenly bodies seemed so close you could reach out and touch them this night, truly magical.

"Hmm? OH! Hey Knightly, how you been man?" Dubstep asked giving his friend a quick hug; it had been a while since he saw the knight who helped him around Ponyville on his first day in town, it was great to see him again, "I'm having a groovy time; wondering if Neon's here or not though; how about you brah? How's your night goin eh?" the DJ asked as he slipped off his headphones, which made the music sound that much louder.

"Tonight is more about watching and finding flaws than anything; I'd have to be a FOOL to just waltz in and try to take over, I'm a villain, not insane" he said shaking his head lightly, "Somehow I doubt that you'd be standing here talking to me if Celestia wanted you captured for causing a bit of fun in the woods; trees'll grow back anyway" Dark stated as he glanced over Mal to look at the window to the ballroom, pondering, he asked what probably was not a good idea to ask, but he was never known for having good ideas all the time, "So, wanna go dance?"

"Ahh, Starflower, such a lovely name~ It's an honour to meet you, I am Alexander Blackwing." Tarisio said lying through his beak, he wasn't about to out himself in front of some random group of ponies, let alone in front of THE Princess Celestia, "Perhaps you would like to join me for a dance in the Ballroom? I'm certain you'd be a lovely dancer" he said to the mare as he walked to the side of the line to let other pass while he awaited an answer from her.

"It's quite alright, I understand, can't be too careful eh?" Dark said with a smile and a nod; it seemed there was more to this girl than meets the eye; no pun intended, "One would think they were watching you though, that they would have already sprung right? I mean with you talking with me, it would have been a perfect chance to grab you." he said with a slight shrug, "Yes I'm actually vying for world domination at some point; yeah I know, it sounds silly, but aim high and all that jazz; and yeah no offense taken. 'DeMasque' said with a wink, "So why would this peryton rat you out to 'lestia or what ever?"

"Look, I wear whatever I like alright, if you don't like it, TOO BAD, as for who I'm working for, I work for no one but myself, I'm not a noble, I have no master and I don't care what magic you want, you want magic, go for it sister!" 'Hoof' said scoffing and doing his best to ignore the freaky eye, this pony already looked like she could snap at any moment and with her voice raising it could get ugly, "Now if ponies really ARE after you, your yelling is NOT gonna help!"

"A pleasure to meet you Malediction." Dark Core said with a bow to the unicorn mare, "A masquerade? Heheh no, I'd rather not have that fool Celestia know who I really am; what with plotting her downfall and all." he said with a smirk, she seemed to be a pony who didn't care what was said around her; who knows, perhaps she would feel the same way, maybe even up to causing some trouble for Celestia and her guests; adjusting his mask again Dark smiled, "So what brings YOU to the Gala hmm? You don't look like the Gala type"

"Ahh thank you your highness, your compliments mean much to me; I'm most certain I'll have a wonderful time at the Gala" he said when a moment later he felt a bump into him; turning to see the apologizing mare, Tarisio gave a kind smile to her, "It's quite alright my dear, no harm done miss" he said kindly grabbing her hoof and placing a kiss upon it, "All is well, that is if you're ok."

Glitzen's heart felt lighter than the cloud he was resting on with his coltfriend, "Whatever you'd like to do Honeywing dear, as long as I'm doing it with you, I'll be happy." he said with a smile as the two nuzzled; the night was just starting and it was already more than GG could have ever asked for, and there was so much to do at the Gala, he wasn't sure where to begin and wondered if Honeywing would know where to begin.

The Grand Galloping Gala, a wondrous celebration held in the beautiful pony city of Canterlot; it wasn't too often that the Gala saw much excitement; discounting last year's disaster; another thing it didn't see very often, was Griffons, but this year however that would change; as luck would have it, a certain pirate captain happened to win a ticket to the majestic event in a game of poker; Tarisio, the Dread Captain of The Zephyrs Kiss; oft spoke of, but rarely seen; had wandered into the Gala wearing his best vest, it was a deep crimson red with light gold trim around it and black designs trailing across it. Roaming his way slowly as the crowd moved to be greeted by none other than Princess Celestia herself, Tarisio couldn't help but smirk; as his turn to be greeted came around, he bowed deeply before the Princess, "Ahh your majesty, it's wondrous to meet you, thank you so much for hosting such a spectacular soiree! I see that your generosity is only out weighed by your beauty." Tarisio said with a charming smile.

"Heh, yeah, gotta watch out for the pillars heheh" Ignus said as he gave the younger dragon a friendly pat on the back, "Oh, my name's Ignus, by the way, what's yours?" he asked before he heard a rumble from the little guy's stomach, "Oh, you sound kinda hungry, here have a couple onyx!" he said as he dug a couple black gems out of his satchel and handed them to the hungry dragon.

Gliten nuzzled back happily; blushing at Honeywing's comment, "Oooh, you're so sweet you silly thing you~" he said with a smile while gazing back at Honeywing, "I rather enjoy the view myself." Glitzen said as he placed a little kiss on his friend's cheek, "I hope everyone else here is having as wonderful a night as I'm having right now."

Ignus was heading back to his table when he noticed the small black dragon roaming about looking to and fro, watching him for a moment he saw he was headed straight for a pillar, "Oh! Hey kid watch ou...t" Ignus said as he watched the poor little guy slam first into the stone column; walking over to see if he was alright Iggy went to kneel down near him, "Hey bud, you ok? Looks like you hit that thing pretty hard huh."

Glitzen smiled as Honeywing draped his wing over him, "Oh yes, it looks like it can only get bett" he started to say but was cut short as a yellow pegasus shot past over head and caused little sparks in the air, "Oh my! That was interesting..." he said as he watched the trailblazer scurry off, "But yes dear, I think this night can only get better~"

Ignus roamed about the buffet, chatting with old employers whom had also been at the Gala; the party itself was never really the dragon's thing, but it gave him a chance to slip in cards advertising the casino now and then into ponies pockets or purses; his out fit was a black tux with vine like etchings of white trailing all over it, it offset his white well, "Ahh what a night, good food, good atmosphere and Royal's not making a scene! This is great, I can relax for a night and not worry about the budget or making sure no one's cheating or anything! Man I need to come to this thing every year if I can!" he said as he gathered up a plate of food, placing some diamonds from his pack on the side as a garnish.

"It's all so magical! Like something out of a fairy tale~" Glitzen said with a dreamy sigh as he gazed up at the moon as the fireworks lit up the night sky, "Ahh, the scent of the roses in the garden smells so delightful! This is going to be a great night, if not the best night ever~" he stated as he leaned his head on Honeywing's shoulder.
