Heretic

Talonwing took the core, gave it a quick look over, and placed it on his back. He looked at Light, who was smiling at him. Talonwing attempted to smile back, but it had been so long, his smile felt awkward.

Talonwing stared at Light, who seemed to be struggling carrying Digi. [colour=#008000]"You know, I could take him for you."[/colour]

(Ah, the power of typo's)

Talonwing flew up to the clouds, where Flashfire lay unconcious, covered with large gashes. Quickly, he landed beside him and administered the potion. Moments later, Flashfire coughed, and sat up. [colour=#ff0000]"Talonwing? You saved my life?"[/colour] Talonwing smiled. [colour=#008000]"Yeah, I guess I did."[/colour] The unicorn looked around. [colour=#ff0000]"Where are we? Where's Dawn?"[/colour] Talonwing pointed down. [colour=#008000]"Below us. We're on a cloud. Master, I need a favour." [/colour]Talonwing looked down, avoiding flashfire's cold gaze. [colour=#008000]"Dawn needs you to... put out the fire."[/colour] Flashfire's face contorted into a vicious scowl. [colour=#FF0000]"What? You dare..."[/colour] [colour=#008000]"Master, you're the only one who can put out your own fires." [/colour]Talonwing said, still staring down at the cloud. [colour=#FF0000]"Exactly. Let them scramble to put the fire out while we get out of here." [/colour]Flashfire cast an evil grin. [colour=#ff0000]"Now let's go."[/colour] Talonwing looked down at the rising flames, and Dawn, who was staring up at him. He sadly turned away, childhood memories flashing back to him. he turned to Flashfire. [colour=#008000]"Fine"[/colour] Moments later, Talonwing flew off, carrying Flashfire, who was laughing maniacally.

Talonwing nodded. [colour=#008000]"Yes. Bring me to Diamond Dust." [/colour]He looked at Light [colour=#008000]"I have plans to do this alone, but it looks like there's only one way to go. So come on, there's got to be more turrets I'll need you to knock over."[/colour]

Talonwing looked sorrily at the burning forest. [colour=#008000]"There's nothing we can do now. Only Flashfire can put out his own flames, and he's unconcious. I need to bring this potion to him as soon as I can." [/colour]He lifted off the ground. [colour=#008000]"[/colour][colour=#008000]I'll try to get him down here to fix it."[/colour]

Talonwing looked up at the machine. [colour=#008000]"Digi? You aren't the center core of this entire faculty, are you?"[/colour]

As Time Spinner ran off, Talonwing turned to Light. [colour=#008000]"Get out of here." [/colour]He turned back to Dawn. [colour=#008000]"Calm down. No-one is going to hurt you." [/colour]Talonwing sheathed his sword. [colour=#008000]"Just... calm down. I won't hurt you." [/colour]He waited calmly for Dawn's response.

Talonwing rushed out to the right, and the turret turned to face him. [colour=#008000]"Go! Now!" [/colour]The turret fired, and he brought his metal wings in front of himself in an attempt to block the incoming bullets

[colour=#008000]"Portal gun." [/colour]Talonwing stared at Light. [colour=#008000]"You realize that we aren't getting anything without getting to the next room, right? I have an idea. We'll both run around either sides of the wall. The gun will shoot at one of us, and the other one can take it down. Sound good?"[/colour]

(I guess I was lol. Don't worry. Talonwing isn't a problem without Flashfire around. I just gotta say though. Without Talonwing's cloak, light could tell that Talonwing is obviously a griffon.) Talonwing looked down at the pony in surprise. he wasn't expecting anyone. [colour=#008000]"Uhh, get out of here? No, I'm not going anywhere. I have to find this Diamond Dust character. Now if you'll excuse me." [/colour]Talonwing pushed past the pony, searching the room. There was only one wall in the square room, made out of glass. there was some kind of cylinder thing with legs on the other side. Looking around the wall for a better look, a red beam traced up to him, and shot him in the arm. Talonwing recoiled back behind the wall, grabbing his arm. [colour=#008000]"Tests. I hate tests." [/colour]He looked up to Light. [colour=#008000]"I hate to ask, but... got any ideas?"[/colour][colour=#008000] [/colour]

Talonwing stopped in mid flight, as the giant pony started to charge towards the others. remembering Flashfire, he quickly scanned the ground with his trained eyes. In the black scorch mark where Flashfire's fireball had hit, there were burned remains of Flashfire's clothing, along with a purple bottle. Dawn crashed towards the ponies on the ground. Talonwing's mind raced. He knew he had to save Flashfire, but he couldn't just stand by and watch as the havoc Flashfire had caused unfolded. He sped down in between Dawn and Time Spinner, throwing his cloak at Dawn as a distraction. With his cloak gone, his appearance was given away, as a large griffon with a helmet and large metal wings. [colour=#008000]"Stay back, giant! You don't want to hurt these ponies! It's me you want!" [/colour]Talonwing stood on his hind legs, and held his sword close. He swiftly grabbed the potion from the ground with his leg, putting it into his bag. [colour=#008000]"So come get me!"[/colour]

[colour=#008000]"Test one." [/colour]Talonwing read the sign. [colour=#008000]"I hate tests. Do I really have to do this?" [/colour]He looked up at the camera in the corner, waiting for a response. [colour=#00ffff]"I could always melt you down right now." [/colour]A robotic voice answered. [colour=#008000]"Fair enough." [/colour]Talonwing shrugged, going through the laser door. Once he passed under the door, his sword and armor disappeared! [colour=#008000]"Hey! What gives?" [/colour] [colour=#00FFFF]"It would only be a fair test if you had none of your equipment."[/colour] [colour=#008000]"Well at least give me my metal wings back. My wings are useless without them!" [/colour] [colour=#00FFFF]"Fine."[/colour] Talonwing was happy to see his metal wings grow back. [colour=#00ffff]"Now. On with the testing."[/colour]

[colour=#282828] Arton the zebra stood on the balcony of the Ponyville library. Clouds covered the skies, drizzling the ground with a light rain. It left small puddles on the muddy ground. From atop the library, the town looked almost peaceful. If it wasn't full of zombies. Arton thought. Arton turned his gaze north, searching the skies for the flare. He had sent the scout hours ago, and he hadn't seen anything from the scout since. He should have known the scout wouldn't make it far. Angered, Arton grabbed his sword and turned back to go inside the library, when he heard a flashing noise. He turned again to see a red flare rising into the sky. Excited, Arton went inside the library, a large smile on his face. He stood atop the staircase, looking down on the small group of Ponyville survivors he had gathered. [colour=#8B4513]"Alright, boys and girls. The flare's been shot, Let's go. I don't want to waste any time. You all remember where we're going?"[/colour]Arton pulled out an old notice poster from his pocket. [colour=#8B4513]"Canterlot. They say that the princesses have found a cure for all the zombies. Granted, it's an old poster, but it's not like anyone else could come to post a new one."[/colour] All of the ponies in the library grabbed their weapons, while Arton moved to the front door. [colour=#8B4513]"This is it, friends. This is how we survive. I sent that scout to see if there was a safe way out of this town, and there is! Now stay close to me. Let's go!"[/colour] Arton opened the door to the Ponyville streets, where only one zombie stood. Checking around for any others, he ran up to the zombie and slashed it's head. Once it hit the ground, he signaled for the others to follow. [colour=#8B4513]"We need to move quickly, and quietly. Talonwing set Flashfire down on a cloud as cuts began to form all over him. [colour=#ff0000]"Not now, not now..." [/colour]Flashfire muttered in an odd trance. [colour=#008000]"Master? Where is your potion?"[/colour] Talonwing asked. His potion was in his bag, and his bag was... Talonwing looked back down to the burning forest. [colour=#008000]"Oh..."[/colour] Talonwing looked back to Flashfire, who was unconscious from his blood loss. [colour=#008000]"Don't worry. I'll be back soon." [/colour]He flew back down towards the forest.

Talonwing jumped from Dawn's neck, flying towards this new pony. He landed in front of Flashfire and blocked Time's attack with his metal wing. He slashed at the attacker, trying to keep him at a distance. [colour=#008000]"Back off! Don't you know who he is?" [/colour]Talonwing stood as tall as he could, trying to intimidate the pony. The forest fire spread slowly as the rain tried to hold it back. Flashfire's childhood scar over his eye bled from the heat. The pain was unbearable. [colour=#ff0000]"I don't have time for this." [/colour]Flashfire's eyes lid up in a red colour, and he stared blankly around, as if he was blind. [colour=#ff0000]"Not now, not now..." [/colour]He stumbled, then stepped forward. [colour=#ff0000]"Talonwing. Get out of my way. Now." [/colour] Talonwing saw the blank look on Flashfire's face, and knew what was coming. He looked between Time Spinner, Dawn, and Flashfire. he snapped to a quick decision. Talonwing grabbed Flashfire and flew as fast as he could to the clouds.

(I'm just going to point out: Flashfire doesn't have an amulet. This is all new to him.) Time Spinner appeared. As if Flashfire didn't have enough problems already. [colour=#a9a9a9]"FACE ME COWARD!"[/colour] Time said, covered in a purple veil and wielding a sword. Flashfire sighed. [colour=#ff0000]"This is getting way out of hoof." [/colour](God, I just made him say that?) He looked up at Talonwing, ignoring Time Spinner completely. [colour=#ff0000]"Can you hurry up?"[/colour] Talonwing tugged on the amulet as hard as he could. [colour=#008000]"It won't move! It's stuck!"[/colour] [colour=#ff0000]"Stuck on her skin!!?" [/colour]Flashfire shouted, getting extremely impatient. [colour=#ff0000]"Then cut her freaking head off!! We'll take her neck with us!"[/colour] Talonwing looked down at Flashfire, then noticed the other pony advancing on him. [colour=#ff0000]"Clarion?" [/colour]Flashfire yelled at Time. [colour=#ff0000]"You're extremely misled!" [/colour]

(sat down? Are you lazy? get me outta here!) Flashfire's fireball bounced off of Dawn, doing nothing, but also flying back at Flashfire. He ignored the giant ball of flame as it crashed down around him. The flames destroyed his clothing, but for the most part, Flashfire's high resistance to fire seemed to protect him. He stared up at Dawn. He had no idea how to stop her, except for the amulet around her neck. [colour=#ff0000]"Talonwing! Take her amulet!" [/colour]He yelled. Talonwing stood up, and walked in between Flashfire and the advancing giant. Suddenly, two large, metallic wings ripped through Talonwing's cloak, and he flew into the air towards the amulet hanging off of Dawn's neck.

Talonwing crashed to the ground. He looked back up at his adversary, who had now grown fifty feet taller! [colour=#008000]"Uhhh, master?" [/colour]Talonwing called out, unsure of what to do next. [colour=#FF0000]"What is it, can't you see I'm trying to--" [/colour]Flashfire's jaw dropped, as he turned to face Talonwing. Dawn was a giant. This wasn't something Flashfire saw coming. Instinctively, He shot a fireball towards Dawn, preparing for whatever came next.

Flashfire was surprised by Dawn's sudden appearance, but didn't show it. [colour=#ff0000]"I'm hurting innocents? Well then, I better stop!" [/colour]Flashfire rolled his eyes, and turned the flames to more untouched trees. [colour=#ff0000]"Take care of her, Talonwing."[/colour] Talonwing jumped at Dawn, not questioning why. He made sure not to stab her, but tackled her to the ground instead. [colour=#008000]"I don't know what your deathwish is, but get out of here! My master isn't looking!"[/colour]

Flashfire turned to face the forest now, casting an evil smile. [colour=#ff0000]"Get down, Talonwing." [/colour]Talonwing obeyed, full aware of what came next. Flashfire's horn exploded with flame, enveloping dozens of trees with fire. Flashfire laughed as he burned the trees. [colour=#ff0000]"If we burn it all, there's going to be nothing left except for the hideout!" [/colour]The rain fell harder now, as if nature itself was trying to stop him.[colour=#ff0000] "Talonwing! Get your sword ready!"[/colour] The unicorn yelled over the sound of the rising flames. Talonwing stood to his full height, and lifted the side of his cloak up. He unsheathed his sword, which was easily seven feet long. He stood strong, ready to die to protect his master.

[colour=#ff0000]"Here we are. This is where she found me." [/colour]Flashfire stopped on the road, somewhere in the forest. Talonwing looked around. [colour=#008000]"There's nothing here, master."[/colour] [colour=#FF0000]"You think I don't know that?" [/colour]Flashfire snapped back at him. [colour=#FF0000]"We just need to find where her secret hideout is."[/colour] [colour=#008000]"How are we going to do that?" [/colour]Talonwing asked. Flashfire grinned evilly from under his hood, and his eyes glowed orange. [colour=#ff0000]"Simple. The hideout is somewhere in the forest, right?" [/colour]Talonwing nodded. Flashfire turned to face Talonwing, and pulled his hood off. His eyes were now a brilliant red colour, and magic swirled around his horn. [colour=#ff0000]"Forests BURN."[/colour]

(Well of course Flashfire missed the DEAD dead part of the plot.)

(I added a lot of stuff to my last post.) [colour=#008000]"Kill something, master? In this room?" [/colour] Talonwing said in a hushed tone. Murder wasn't a stranger to him, but he was surprised by the sudden demand. [colour=#FF0000]"Yes. Something in this room." [/colour]Flashfire gestured with his head to the other ponies in the center of the room. [colour=#ff0000]"Do you see the amulet the one in the middle is wearing? We're going to take it. But not now. Until recently I wanted to take it as soon as possible, but I found out that there is a hidden lab in the forest somewhere. We're going to find it. right now. Come on."[/colour] Flashfire rose from his seat, and left the tavern, Talonwing walking close beside him. Outside, the rain was heavy, and thunder crashed in the clouds above. It didn't bother the two, and they headed back towards the everfree forest.

Flashfire waited in the corner table patiently, taking notes on everything the others were saying. This... Blaze, was no stranger to him. She was a good rival in fire magic. I wonder if Time Spinner knows how she died... Flashfire grinned, thinking back to the carnage. But he had no idea that the amulet she wore so long ago was a fire amulet. Flashfire needed to have it. A large, hooded figure threw open the doors to the tavern just as a storm started outside. The sudden lightning illuminated all around the figure as he stepped in. He easily towered over the other ponies. A black cloak covered his entire form, hiding his features completely. The visor of a helmet pointed out from his hood, as it looked around the deserted room. Only a few ponies were in the center, and a bartender, and... Flashfire, in the corner table. Talonwing moved towards the table, ignoring the gaze of the others. There was a metallic clinking sound as he moved to Flashfire's table. [colour=#FF0000]"You're late." [/colour]Flashfire scowled. [colour=#ff0000]"Sit down." [/colour]Flashfire gestured to the seat opposite his. Talonwing obediently sat on the seat Flashfire had gestured to, then waited patiently for his master to speak again. [colour=#FF0000]"There's been a change of plans. I'm not going to Canterlot for now. I need you to kill something."[/colour]
