  1. Meh, I can't consider myself a fan of it, but I don't think it's that bad. I mostly agree with Sparkleheart's opinion towards Nightcore. I do see the appeal of it, but I also see how the formation of the music seems lazy. In other words, I'm neutral towards it. Personally for me, Dubstep and Rap are fighting for first place for the most obnoxious/just plain bad music out there.
  2. I too manage to find and get into bands because of other bands. For example, Rhapsody lead me to find the power metal genre, and eventually find bands that I like.
  3. I never really could get into Danzig, or at least from from what I listened.
  4. "Hmmm," Tekton stated, "hopefully she's alright." It would be quite painful to see a young filly grieve if her sister were to become injured, or worse. Hopefully, that won't happen today. "Well, at least they're done. Maybe our lives can resume it's normal pace now." Tekton removed himself from the path of the incoming group of ponies. He then spectated the interactions of the ponies among themselves. He opened his mouth and awkwardly asked,"Do you guys need any help?" Tekton wanted to help, but personally felt that he really couldn't aid in any way... He glanced over towards the injured Squall, but said nothing. He only acknowledged the situation. His offer of aid expanded to these ponies, but he didn't say, and didn't know whether or not they would accept (or even know) it.
  5. 3/5 Nothing particularly exceptional, but it also isn't something horrifically bad.
  6. It would be perfect... except they're missing the other four of the mane six. Well, at least the ones available look to be at high quality.
  7. Tekton's face turned it's direction towards the floor, and then to the filly's face, exposing a smile on Tekton's face. "No problems," Tekton stated in a calm voice. "No no, there's nothing to apologize for. Fillies will be fillies and random events will occur," said Tekton ,"...but I do hope that I won't miss my train." Tekton looked at the pony, eyes dilated and showing a face of surprise. "You mean that her sister is in danger," said Tekton with dread oozing from his words. Tekton didn't know about this part of the odd event. At least now he knows why the filly is acting up.
  8. I'll take a look at Burnt Offerings. Thanks for the suggestions.
  9. I kinda know about Iced Earth, but never really heard a lot of their songs. I guess that now would be a good time to fully check them out.
  10. Well, there may not be song that tell one story, but there are albums that tell one story. Blind Guiardian, Kamelot (Epica and The Black Halo), and Avantasia (The Metal Opera Part 1 and 2) are some examples.
  11. Personally, I can't really pinpoint my favorite sub-genres. I listen to a lot of sub-genres (and I'm surprised of how many sub-genres there are!). I guess that it more comes down to each individual artist and song. It pretty much comes down to how "serious" each song/artist really is. I really haven't been that much of a black metal fan myself... that is until about a few months ago. The atmospheric and epic black metals are my favorite sub-genres of black metal. I can't really say that I am a fan of the satanic black metal, though. If you have anytime, check out the song "Glare of Autumn" by Drudkh. It is one of my favorite atmospheric black metal songs. I'll be the first one to admit that I got my love of metal from Guitar Hero. I was about 11 years old when one of my cousins introduced me to the game. Now metal is probably the only music that I really listen to. Huh, Electric Wizard is mentioned more than I expected. On another note, who are Beraking Benjamin, Seether, and Pierce the Veil? I would assume that Three Days Grace is more hard rock than metal. I too like Metallica, although they're not on my top favorites.
  12. This thread is dedicated to metal in general, and is open to general talks and discussions about the subject. Some starting ideas to kick off the thread: What are your favorite sub-genres of metal? What are your least liked sub-genres of metal? Why are you (or aren't) a fan of metal? Want to show anyone that one obscure band/song that you've found but almost no one has heard of?
  13. Honestly, I'm extravagantly neutral on the subject. I can't bring myself to like or hate it at the moment. It's made for younger girls, so maybe it will appeal to them but not to us (I dunno)? However, I do find it interesting that Twilight has to remeet the rest of the mane-six all over again, and that most of the humans have unusually coloured skin. My only real gripe to worry about is the awkward conflict(s) implied in the trailer. It may be very uncomfortable to watch. To look at the more positive side of things, at least they don't have large breasts, wear gimpy cloathing (AKA, cloathing could be worse) and (probably) won't act like the stupid generic girls that are usually portrayed in shows for little girls (AKA, may keep their own unique characteristics).
  14. Ohh, I guess that I missed that part. Piracy has been noted more to be an issue of convenience ( http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/38082/Valve_Piracy_Is_More_About_Convenience_Than_Price.php ). Also, regarding the always online, I don't remember any next gen console using it.
  15. "Well, I was moving to another area, but..." Tekton was starting to tell the unfortunate event of the train, but then the filly hijacked the conversation. Tekton facehooved himself in response to the statement. "No, I'm not some sort of spy." Tekton then proceeded to give his attention back to the colt. "I'm moving to Manehattin, but the train that I was taking ran into some sort of problem while stationed in Fillydelphia. It would be a few hours, so I decided to take a break at this beach. But apparently my bad luck decided that it wouldn't stop tormenting me...." Tekton looked at the beast that started the ruckus to begin with. "Me?" Tekton proclaimed excitedly, "But how could I do such a thing?" He waved his front right hoof in the area that a unicorn horn should be. "I don't have a horn to do this." A sigh unconsiously escaped from Tekton, and as Tekton began to continue talking, the tone of his voice became tranquil, "How am I responsible for her actions?" After defending himself, and while waiting for the "counter-argument," Tekton's gaze went towards the beach again, and with the sound of Fast Track proclaiming the R.E.A. arrived, Tekton became slightly happier. "Just a little more and I'll be able to go back onto the train and not deal with anymore of this!" - Tekton thought to himself. He honestly didn't care what the R.E.A. was (or he just didn't remember), but he didn't want to know. All the knoledge required was that they would be fighting the kraken and this unusual event will end soon enough.
  16. "Oh..." said Tekton. "Well that's terrible luck. I too was just, uh, visiting.... sorta." Tekton then emoted a chuckle, ackowledging how the few of them managed to be in a similiar situation. An anon after the chucle, the Tekton just looked at the young pony as she fiddled with the toys.
  17. The natural curiosity within Tekton wanted to know more about the young pony and the event that directed her to differentiate from other ponies. However, he felt that, as a stranger to the group, it would be a little to intrusive, awkward, and probably uncalled for him to ask any more questions. The colt that Tekton was talking to then proceeded to answer his question about the sporatic occurances... "Oh yes, that chaotic being that was loose during the wedding," Tekton replied, "I heard about it, but never really saw it. Probably a good thing though; I left Canterlot a few years before the wedding." However, Tekton really wanted to know how often random events occur in this specific area, not Equestria as a whole. "However, I was really asking about this area." Proclaimed Tekton. "I really wasn't reffering to the entire country as a whole, but rather this specific part of it." Tekton already heard about the unusual events in Ponyville and Canterlot, but he really has never heard of any noteworthy peculiar around the Bridlebank Beach area.
  18. The most surprising thing about this is that it's already been a year! Holy crud time goes by fast!
  19. Well if you didn't hear, Adam Orth actually got fired for making those posts. http://kotaku.com/microsofts-adam-orth-the-always-on-tweeter-no-long-472244698?utm_campaign=Socialflow_Kotaku_Facebook&utm_source=Kotaku_Facebook&utm_medium=Socialflow Also, the 720 will not have always online as a means of DRM; you can still play your games even if your internet goes out. http://www.vgleaks.com/microsoft-xbox-roadmap-2013/ It is somewhere in the "Microsoft explains its xbox brand" section.
  20. I found the project to be good overall, but there were some glaring problems. The script seemed to revolve more on the references than the actual plot. The story and moral seemed very weak. Too many memes, and there the animation also used too many brony aspects as well (EX, Pinkie Pie explicitly jumping universes). I'm pretty sure that there are other problems that I had with it, but I just can't remember. Overall, it's a good piece of animation, but many of it's faults made it feel awkward, and overall weakened it.
  21. Tekton honestly could care less about the child butchering his name. The thing that was really holding a monopoly on Tekton's attention was the kraken outside. He only gave a quick glance at the child, not knowing whether if the filly was doing it to be playful, or doing it to be a jerk. The guessing at the the meaning of the word, however, did grip Technica's attention. More specifically, it broke his glance towards Wind Walker. "Technica means technology in one of the the Pre-Equestrian language," stated Tekton while looking at the colt, "But it could also mean technique in another language." Tekton shrugged at the confusion he bestowed upon himself, and itched his head for an anon. "Eh, the older languages were probably similar." Tekton continued his normal stare at the colt "No, she doesn't bother me that much, but does she usually go around and butcher people's names like that?" However, this question was made assuming that the colt actually knew the filly. Tekton thought that it would be more likely that the cashier mare would have the answers. Tekton just stared out the window. He probably wouldn't even be able to hear the ponies and griffons outside. But, the removal of part of the beast did trigger an idea from within him. He opened his mouth and in a sort of fatigued way and began to speak, "I wonder how often an event like this occurs in this area of Equestria," proclaimed Technica out-loud to no particular being, hoping that someone would answer.
  22. Tekton cautiously placed the basket of goods down, as not to accidentally drop anything else. The then proceeded to walk over to Wind Walker and the others. Tekton just didn't know what to expect. On top of his delayed train, a surprise kraken, there was also the uncalled for greeting of two ponies and a griffon. But because he was polite and courteous, he decided to introduce himself. "My name is Technica Tekton", proclaimed Tekton while holding out a hoof, "Nice to meet you Wind Walker, Fast Track and Glimmer." He gave a glance at each individual for a moment. He also attempted to give off a smile, but it would probably appear pathetic.
  23. There really wasn't an emphasis on the motion controls on the Wii U to begin with. In fact, there is a greater emphasis on standard dual stick controllers than motion controls. The gamepad is the main focus, and it is surprisingly more useful than expected. Plus there is a mayor improvement in graphics, and there's additional support for third party content.
