  1. I quite enjoyed both of these episodes, and it especially felt nice after not having any pony for months. Now lets see if we can continue with this level of quality for the remainder of the season.
  2. I don't really plan on doing anything special, but I may finally get my lazy but and start doing a show watching reutine (i.e. finally watch various shows every Saturday.). There have been many good shows that I've been to lazy to get watching, so maybe when seaon 4 comes around I'll start out.
  3. Yea, I would've assumed that a lack of new content to discuss would translate into a slow down of forum speed.
  4. Is it me, or am I the only that thinks that the Canterlot Forums are slowing down in speed? There is usually new posts and threads made an a predictable speed, but there are almost no new threads and very few new posts in the existing threads. Heck, the chatroom seems to be the most vacant ever since I first joined this forums!
  5. Time flies doesn't it? Unfortunately, it's not good for the individual pony. It would be a good thing to prepare for the upcoming night now. Now what would a pony need for the night? Shelter? A fire? After the encounter with the timberwolf, however, it seemed best to find a shelter elsewhere. A fire for warmth and light would be nice, but the fire would have to be made at the site. Nonetheless, the loner decided head north to see if there was anything. And it wasn't fruitless, as he managed to enter the town center. The main building at the center of town looked affected, but surprisingly in good condition... at least for a post-cataclysmic event. There was some damage, some burning marks, but it otherwise looked to be a two story building with good support. The pony decided use this as his shelter for the night, and possibly sleep upstairs if possible.
  6. 5/10 - Average. Nothing good but also nothing bad. And I got a new avi of this human face. Rate me!
  7. The pony, now indulged in panic and dread, feared an encounter with the timberwolf. Instead of attempting to fight it, he decided to hide from it. Somewhere a little deeper into the city, the pony could find a structure still standing, albeit ruined. It was two stories tall, and the second story looked as if it could be accessed fairly quickly. With little time to think, the pony ran to the ruins, and quickly "entered" the building via a hole in the wall. The stairs seemed in fair condition, so he attempted to climb them. But alas, the stairs were actually decaying, and he fell threw. The timberwolf cried out again, and it sounded much closer... What will the pony do now?
  8. You know what? I have an odd little idea, and definately a unique idea to the Spam Stables. Let us all think of a post apocalyptic Equestria. Let us assume the role of an unfortunate soul who is still around to witness a newly warped Equestria. What will the pony encounter? What kind of world is it currently? Can we find any information to point to a plausable cause to this unfortunate demize? What are the other races doing in this landscape? How many carcasses are lying around in the streets (Okay, that may be too graphic for Canterlot...). You know, that kinda stuff. To do this, everyone can add to the "lore" of this realm. However, a few rules are needed: 1) The whole world is in a post apocalyptic state. Even though I say "Equestria", it would seem easier to assume that the whole world is in this state, at least for the convenience of writing the lore up. 2) This takes place immediately after the cataclysmic event that mutated the Equestria we know into the infirm world that we are going to attempt to describe. Therefore, assume that there is discord everywhere (as in, no structure, no groups or organized cities yet; "it's every man for themselves" for a little bit). "Structure" may be added later on in the thread. 3) No "Fallout Equestria". Basically, try not to copy from Fallout Equestria (such as the vaults for example), although I'm more concerned about the use of FE technology than other features really. Please note that I haven't FE, but I do know some knowledge of Fallout, so I ask of you not to slide any FE stuff into the thread. 4) Keep all information close to the canon. As in, no random new technology that's more advanced than that of Equestria's technology, no aliens, etcetera. Mutations or the similar are allowed, so long as it is currently, or will soon be, explained as to how it happened. Following canon strictly is superfluous, as it may hinder the flow of the thread and all possible creativity. It, in my opinion, may be best to be somewhere inbetween canon and non-canon. 5) Keep the lore formation process in an articulate way. Base your lore off of the lore already listed. For example: the general idea of the thread is that there was a sort of civil war, and everyone was building the lore and describing the enviornment of Equestria based off this. Don't be that one guy and go off on a tangent about how the Zebras thought it would be hilarious to raze Equestria, and continously give contradicting statements to the lore that is currently arround. 6) Avoid "wall texting" lore. We don't need a few people monopolizing all of the lore; give other people a chance. 7) It's open world. You aren't just stuck in Equestria. You can go to other places, such as the Kingdom of the Griffons, and see how they are doing. 8) This is a semi-RP thing. When you go to post, you "move" the pony around. You don't have to be detailed on what the pony is doing, just be detailed on the enviornment and what said pony may encounter. 9) Please put a breif summary of what you contributed into your post, and please use a spoiler. I ask you to do this for organization's sake. 10) You can add survivors, or gangs, organizations, or the similar, etcetera, I just don't want them added during the beginning parts of the thread. 11) If you have any questions, PM me or add them in this thread via spoiler system. Idea/Recommended: Let us try this out. When someone makes a post, you end in a question. For example, your post may be about how the pony found a cup that looks special. With this, you finish the post, and ask, "what will the pony see when he fully views the cup?" Then the next participant writes out his post talking about the cup, and how it is a sign of how there are others nearby. Then this person ends his post with "what will the pony do with this new information?" And so on and so fourth. Basically, you type an answer to the previous question, or something close to it (you don't have to be restricted to answering the question specifically), possibally add a little more, and then ask a question giving a good suggestion on what the next participant shall do. Those are all of the rules that I can currently think of that may help keep this thread running smoothly and keep creativity up. I may add new rules (rules 9 and 10 and 11 for example) when I see fit. I will especially do this because I know now that my rules and the goal of this thread may be a little hazy for some people, so I may expand or rephrase rules or add new ones to help better explain what's going on/what to do. With that said, I shall begin. But I will only begin with this: The pony is at the outskirts of Ponyville...
  9. I too find the artwork within the comics to be eye candy. I would argue that it is one of the better art styles when it comes to making MLP comics. I foundmyself laughing more often with this issue (well technically the arc) than the other issues. So the gags worked like a charm.
  10. It surprises me how most of the mane six have almost equal popularity. Often, the case is that Fluttershy and Rainbowdash dominate the top while Applejack and Rarity are twirling around in the nadir of the people's popularity.
  11. I would love it if there was an episode going deeper into the lore of the world that FiM takes place in. Most episodes only seem to be about a simple-ish problem that one of the characters or some of the characters are having. I personally feel that the series doesn't attempt to explore the lore as much because of this. To specify when I mean explore the lore, I mean I want an episode (or several) detailing more of the history of Equestria and other countries within the world, more details on the races inhabiting the world that FiM takes place in, etcetera etcetera.
  12. I really enjoyed this comic, and the mini-arc. Nice to see Big Mac in the spotlight for once. I don't think I have any quarrels with this arc, or at least not any major ones.
  13. I too think that we should expand the lore of the dragon and zebras. We barely know anything about these races. Quite sad seeing how they have the great potential to fit well and have a huge impact. On top of this, I also want to see more of those Arabic horses that were only given a few moments during the ending of that one Trixie episode. And a little more on the griffons please... Man, there are a lot of ignored races in the cartoon. On a side note, almost any animal could be put into the FiM universe. Just make the entity look cute and tune down the violence if needed.
  14. This... I too feel that the fandom thinks of the Earth Ponies as underclass denizens. I hate this is, especially since they are the only ones able to grow food. Kind of a big deal, don't you think? They're also noted to be good when dealing with animals, and the best of the three races by far. Other pony races may do this, but it is a rarity to behold. The only example that I remember of a non-Earth Pony doing exceptional with animals is Fluttershy, and she is a one-in-a-million in this regard. It's also been suggested that they hold immense physical strength, if not more than the other races. I too feel that certain members of the fandom over glorify the power of a unicorn. People tend to forget that unicorns can only do one specific type of magic, often associated with their cutie mark, with the exception of telekinesis. Twilight Sparkle is a one-in-a-million when it comes to magic, so her magic prowess will outclass most others.
  15. Well, I guess that a majority of metal being dark is true. But with the decent size of the Power/Viking and the other lighter sub-genres, I would've assumed that I would come across at least a few by now.
  16. I too wish that AJ would gain more popularity, although I doubt that it will happen. Nonetheless, I would assume that you manage to find the good gems before other people do.
  17. I've actually noticed bat-ponies slowly gaining popularity during the past week or so, and this will only add to the momentum. Now, I shall assume, it will only be a matter of time before a decent sized patch of bat-pony oc's will be comming out.
  18. I've actually heard of a few of Forefather's songs. From what I heard, I liked 'em. And many of the other bands you've listed I've also heard of. Nothing else to comment on this subject. But with this post, I've noticed a pattern. When it come to metal, you have at least two main types of "metalheads:" those who listen to the more darker things (thrash/death/etc.), and those who have a broad taste.
  19. Well, looks like that there will be an official trading card game for our favorite pony show. http://www.equestriadaily.com/2013/08/more-mlp-card-game-information-revealed.html http://www.equestriadaily.com/2013/08/bronycon-panel-writeup-enterplay.html It will be available in October of this year, but with a "preview showing" in the 2013 GenCon later this month. Thoughts, ideas, discussions?
  20. Of the few people that I know of that listen to both Metallica and Megadeth, they most of them say that Megadeth is better. Yea, Stormwarrior is somewhat underground.
  21. Well, at least for me, I'm still in highschool. The social atmosphere isn't beneficial for me. I plan on doing more socially things when I exit highschool.
  22. Megadeth and Metallica aren't really needed. However, since we're kinda on this topic, from the songs I've heard, IMHO Megadeth > Metallica. For the underground, are you talking about Stormwarrior? And that MetalStorm sounds interesting. I did a quick check on it, seems pretty neat. I recognize many of the listed bands, but I assume that the rest are, on some level, Death Metal.
  23. I know what Emperor plays. But otherwise, the rest was informative. And a lot of those bands that isn't the "Death Metal Stuff" you've listed I like too. And yes, Stormwarrior is quite the awesome Power Metal band. I'm suprised someone else has heard of 'em.
  24. I've heard of Emporer but the other bands don't ring a bell. What sub-genre do those bands play?
