  1. Well in terms of the SPECIAL points... That was something that Fallout New Vegas had... That's without adding or taking away... I'll go ahead and add the intense training.

The story you suggested and the faction would actually work nicely! Since I like the NCR.

The rangers bit was because I don't know what factions you all had here, and then someone only mentioned Rangers and another faction... Which now leaves me confused to high heaven...

Fallout games give a free five special points. I don't, helps with balance.

    Glad I could help.

Fallout is a world, but some factions are localized. Some factions like Steel Rangers(Pony equivalent of the Brotherhood) and the Enclave are pretty much everywhere, but those two are none inclusive. Any faction you know of you can use in a back story, I don't limit where an OC comes from. So he could come from anywhere in the fallout Equestria world and have been with nearly faction. But to help you out. The active factions in the rp are: The Steel Rangers(particularly applejack's rangers), the Institute, and Equis Revolucion. Those are the big players, but keep an eye out for signs of others.

I always forget stuff when it's late. That post last night was missing a few things.

    1) we don't need that much info on the equipment. Dps and weight we don't really need to know. Condition maybe. We just trust the player to keep it realistic. I will have you keep track of your inventory though, mainly healing and ammo.

    2) all energy weapons are powered by spark batteries. You don't have any energy weapons, so you don't need them.

    3) a Pegasus that can't fly might as well be an earth pony. Change the crippling injury to limiting his flight much more than a regular pegasus.

    4) You don't have a companion perk. Gotta have one of those.

Now I will look at what you changed

    1) I don't count stacking perks as multiple perks. That's my gift to the players.

    2) educated is worthless here. Grab you a different perk.

    3) you only have 5 perks and generally low skills. You are really underpowered, your skills can add up to at least 750 and you can have up to 10 perks.

4)He was a sniper for the rangers, but now he's a merc operating out of Stalliongrad, right? Put /mercenary up there in occupation. Also As I said the ranger are the Elite of the NCA. What did he do to earn his recommendation? Write about it under his history, that way Nexar won't tear you apart about not having enough story.

Oh and here's a list of terms:

    Stimpack= Healing Potion

    Super Stimpack= Potent Healing Potion

  2. I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought the message/intent of Cider Squeezy was just...off. I understand not every episode will be perfect, it's just jangling when one isn't as good as it could have been. I think it would have been better to put focus on the Cider Squeezy itself -- maybe have it malfunction and go on a cider-making rampage, and the message could have been "quality over quantity" or something. It would end with the Brothers and the Apples teaming up to stop the machine, then working together the right way to make enough cider for everyone and sharing the profits/becoming business partners.

well the only problem with that idea is that their machine works perfectly fine. Its a step in the right direction, they were doing it right, just not the "right" that a main character woukd do, thus making it wrong when said characters are the antagonist party.

The episode shouldve went way differently, like you guys said it didnt really have a message. I mean flim and flam werent evil, they werent even tycoons. Didnt they try to settle a partnership first then because the apple were stubborn held the competition?

    Anyway thats not important.

What I think should have happened is that both sides shoukdve realized the were lacking in some area and made a partnership, teaching us that its okay to expand and grow past you normal limits with the aid of others.

    Or something like that.

  3. ((Sorry if it seems a little off... I made this off of my new level 7 Fallout character! Hope he works! ^^)

Likes: shooting things, protecting his friends, caps... Lots... And lots of caps, the night

Dislikes- getting shot at, drunks, radiation poisoning, loud noises, getting loud, the sun.

Character Summary: dead eye normally tends to keep to himself and will speak up when he feelstheres injustice being done. Despite his background, he is very kind and compassionate and will always stick up for his friends. Normally trying to keep the fight as far away as possible, dead eye is terrible at close quarters, but is an invaluable asset when handed a gun. He prefers sniper rifles or weapons with scopes and silencers, but he's learned to make due in his harsh environment.

Personality: normally very quiet and shy, but once he warms up to someone, he can be pretty funny... If you get his sense of humor...

History: Dead Eye's lived in a vault for most of his life until he finally decided one day to leave. He found a whole new world "full of opportunity" so he joined the rangers and learned how to he an excellent shot. His wing was severely crippled in battle however, which disables him from flight. The stress has caused him to start smoking, and he's showing no signs of quitting any time soon. He has a four leaf clover tucked under his pipboy glove for extra luck. dead left the rangers shortly after recovering and set out to make a new life. Little does he know he'll soon meet up with some very skilled ponies.

Hmmm... Okay, the basic idea is solid and it can be tweaked.

For the record vaults are called stables

    1) 4 Special points too many. You can have special training x3 and only have to remove two points.

    2) I've no idea how vats will work here, so feel free to replace you perk for ap points. Same deal for your xp perk.

    3) your history. Unit was a little off. Yes, the Steel Rangers are the Remenants of the Equestrian armed forces, but so are the Grand Pegasus Enclave. Problem is, these don't recruit. You're born into it or adopted in, otherwise you're just trash to them. Basically it destroy's your story.

But there is another option! The NCA (New Caledonian Alliance) is the pony version of the NCR. You're character can hale from Caledonia been a vault dweller there, joined the NCA after leaving the stable and figuring he can do good work there. The elite forward recon for the NCA are the rangers and the desert rangers(the guy that fires the sniper from new vegas's gate during the start screen demo movie is a desert ranger). There, new story.

But do tell us of his adventures and why he was considered elite enough to be in the rangers.

Sorry it took so long to get to this.

  4. I don't think Derpy is actually mentally retarded, I think she's just a carefree yet clumsy mare and I'm actually kinda annoyed that the fandom made her mentally retarded just because she has weird eyes.

I'm also a Huge Princess Luna fan (I like to call myself a Lunatic) but I don't do the whole "New Lunar Republic/Solar Empire" ****. The Royal Sisters both clearly love one another and support each other and would never go to war for control of Equestria.

The part about Luna, I like that. Ive actually explored that possibilities for war between the two sisters and came to the same conclusion.

But I also created an alternative because deconstruction is a past time of mine.

In my alt universe headcanon certain fractions of the population where unsatisfied with one of the sisters policies and rule and cried for change. They rallied under the princess they most associated with and called for action.

We know how that song and dance would go. The population would start crippling the government until something happened, while the sisters would refuse to take action against each other in the way their subjects want.

Tense populations would clash and eventually there would be an incident forcing the sisters hand.

Now thats really simplified, but the idea is pretty much any revolutionary war. Honestly I could write an entire story about how that woukd lead up to nightmare moon.

  5. Yeah count me out, I've dealt with gm's like that in the past and just hoped it would get better...it doesn't, and before I go I should state that one of the details about the review of my app that irked me, just for future reference, the raider disease is confined to the Hoof, not all of Equestria...well learned individual yourself aren't you?

Sorry that you're things didnt work out for you. Seeing as Fallout Equestria is nearly a dead scene here, having a hopeful walk out is detrimental.

  6. Hey, thanks for allowing me to reapp with a new character, Eclipse. Everything in order?

    -Vat cleaned water

    -Homemade medication

Likes: The open air, excitement, adventure, when things are easy.

    Dislikes: Hard going, stubbornness, boredom.

Character Summary: Zep never stays anywhere or with anypony for long. She sticks to the skies, flying from place to place to hitch onto an adventure, usually in progress, before flitting off elsewhere. The world is her oyster for her to take what she wants and jet back off again afterwards. She lives a life without consequences, or at least she tries to. If things resort to violence, her skill with her SMGs is next to none, and, when combined with her flybys, can tear through the opposition.

Personality: Thinks fast, moves fast, acts fast. If a problem can’t be solved fast, she gets bored and tries something else.

History: Cherry Zephyr was once a foal, a very long time ago. Her parents tried to run a farm, and working the land was a hard job. Cherry didn’t like a hard life. She didn’t like working every day for results that took months to be fruitful. By the age of eight she ran away from home, and was extremely lucky to run into somepony that didn’t want to kill her, a gambler who liked to live fast and loose. He was the first to call her Zep, and she liked it. The life was perfect for her, but not so much for her caretaker, who took a bullet to the head when Zep was twelve. Zep escaped with her life by doing what she did best, flying.

Every day since then she’s flown from place to place, from life to life. She adapts quickly, but hates the burden of responsibility, and if things ever start to seem too real she’s liable to bail. What she does like though is experience and adventure, as no matter where she goes, experience is something that always stays and no pony can take from her.

This app is accepted unless Nex has anything to say.

  7. I'm just saying man, don't you think you're being a bit rough? Not what you're saying, but the way you're saying it.

Your concern for our conduct is appriciated. We dont want to abuse gm power, however Nexar gave you a few pointers for app. Shifting your focus there would be more productive than cluttering the OOC with a conversation that can easily be taken to private.

  8. Wow, I don't know if you're a hardcore RPG player, or just despise human beings, but after reading how you just talked to him, I'm not sure I want to be a part of this. If it's clear someone isn't quite sure what they're doing, you don't rip their heart out and eat it in front of them, if you wanted to play D&D in my group, and you wanted to play a half-ogre sorcerer, I wouldn't call you a mentally challenged idiot, I'd help you, if you don't want any more players, just say so.

Nexar's concerns are legitimate and not only were reasons given but some suggestions were made as well. Nexar is not as reserved as I am, your app will be ripped into when Nex reviews it. As I expect my material would be shredded as well, same as any player.

Having Nexar as my co gm was a deliberate choice. A fire and ice type of duality is used in managing this rp.

No one is trying to deliberately hurt anyone.

  9. I'ma just delegate to this post:

Everyone will tend to have differing canon views seeing as there is no offical canon scale other than FIM first. Rose if free to that view, but as I said above ill stick to mine as long IDW keeps filling in the gaps in FIM and they arent stepping on any toes. Also as said above the comics map actually lines up pretty well.

In the end no one is right or wrong here because there is no canon policy, its up to the individual to decide for themselves.

  10. The only map I saw in the comics (not counting, the micro series was the forest of leota. That was on the otherside of the apploloosan mountains). The maps are already as barebones as you can get anyway. At best they are good for an idea of where everything is in relation to each other, rather than a perfect representation of the nation.

Thats before even mentioning that maps are amoung the most altered material in franchises with expanded canons. The maps may not match perfectly, but thats fine. As long as they arent contradicting lore. I treat it like Star Wars. primary canon overrides secondary, which overrides tertiary, etc... Certain items will be treated as exceptions.

  11. I don't think anyone had a problem with the fact that it happened - just WHEN it happened. That sort of change would of been better suited for the series finale (which if memory serves was Faust's intent). By having it happen right at the end of the third season, when so much more could of happened, cheapens the magnitude and significance of the transformation. Twilight hasn't done THAT much, even though her feats have been quite impressive, and so this is kind of like making an adventuring hero royalty for saving the kingdom a couple of times - an act that would be treated with great favour and praise, but not an immediate spot on the royal family tree (short of being promised a princess' hand in marriage), let alone the power of the gods.

Cadence did much less, had no formal instruction prior to her becoming an alicorn, and probably no education. She was an orphaned pegasus in some backwater village, unknown to the world until she ascended and was discovered by Celestia. Whatever triggers the transformation has some sort of conditions. Guess the writers thought that the dilemma in MMM had the right conditions for Twi.

We don't even know if Luna and Celestia were always alicorns. They could have earned it, if they did they did much less than Twilight. Or perhaps not, perhaps they did way more, we didn't get a good look at all the stained glass. Or maybe they just came from the heavens one day. We don't know, all I know is how to debate characters. And with that in mind those two, just... No real feats. Enough said there.

I knew Twi was being prepared. I was ready for her to get her reward instead of it looming overhead. If it was the finale of the series I'd leave ugly loose ends that pretty much demand some sort of follow up. Why do that when your character can get her ending, then through a final season wrap everything up with a nice little bow (I believe that this should be the last season)?

Tldr: alicorn ascension is still pretty much not understood by the fandom. I honestly don't think the writers even thought about it. IDW may have some canon for us, but ATM Twi is the only character other than Cadance that earned her pay "onscreen". And Twi still paid several times the dues Cadance did. I think it was a good move to change Twi now so that th series can have real closure.

    ------

    OT

The only really unpopular belief I have is meta. Intent =/= execution. I don't care what the writers say on tweets and blogs, if it ain't in the show or comic, or data book, it ain't canon. Ambiguous staff statements are worthless to me. I just love how everyone jumped on the Twi isn't immoral bandwagon from the sentence "she won't outlive her friends" ha! That's so ambiguous! Especially when the only important thing we know about alicorns is that all four of them have a relationship with magical artifacts...

Oh I also don't believe that the element bearers are infallible in their elements, nor do I believe they are the best representations of their element.

  12. No, in fact, it was very helpful! I really loved how it was all constructive and you gave advice in how to reconstruct my character! :) anyway, I touched him up a little. How's he looking now? :D

    Three things.

Targeting computer. Invert the values (80% for long range, 85% for mid range, 90% short range), having a skill like targeting computer is really good, even if it has a limit and is fallible.

His cybernetic. We need to know what it transforms into. It's ok for it to turn into two or three things at most. Specifically what energy weapons/ tools. Also remember that energy weapons run on spark engines as well so carrying more then one is a good idea. Carrying ammo is somewhat implied though.

IFAK. Make that item his team perk and have it grant te user +25 in medicine when they use it.

And as for his reactivation ive got an idea.

Also, 500gs is quite excessive. Tone it down to around 10. Thats sufficient to kill, black out, slowdown anything.

  13. Name: unknown

    Alias: X-104

    Sex:Male

    Age: Adult (actual age unknown)

    Species: Earth pony cyborg

Appearance: Mostly metal, he has very few organic parts such as vital organs and his right eye. His body is made mostly of a tungsten carbide material and he's very durable, though not agile at the least.

    Physique: Very tall and muscular

    Origin/Residence: Stalliongrad (?)

    Occupation: Cybernetic War Experement (outdated)

Motivation: Sole purpose is to find a master and serve him/her

    S.P.E.C.I.A.L. :

    Strength - 10

    Perception - 10

    Endurance - 10

    Charisma - 0

    Intelligence - 1

    Agility - 2

    Luck - 3

    Skills:

    Explosives - 100

    Energy Weapons - 100

    Repair - 100

    Science - 100

    Unarmed - 100

    Barter - 0

    Guns - 100

    Lockpick - 0

    Medicine - 0

    Survival - 0

    Sneak - 0

    Speech - 0

    Melee Weapons - 0

    Perks:

Tank- can sustain ridiculous amounts of damage at the incredible cost of speed and agility

Targeting device- can lock on to his targets for a near perfect hit/miss ratio

Cybernetic arm- can transform his left arm to a tool fitting any combat situation... It doesn't work on wood... (It doesn't have an app for that!)

Cybernetic legs- can set up to an additional three feet of length for more speed, however not much of a difference.

Central Processing Unit- takes place of his brain, and is only programmed for combat. He doesn't speak, or simply put butter on toast.

    Inventory:

Repair kit- can be used on him to restore health (must know how to use it) and may also be used to repair some other things.

Photon grenade- may be loaded in his cybernetic arm for some explosive fun!

JP-8- jet fuel, may be loaded in his arm for a high temperature flame thrower, or used in aircraft as fuel.

Likes: breaking things, blowing things up, and killing those he's programmed to.

Dislikes: anything that may confuse him or attack his master.

Character Summary: He doesn't know fear or defeat. He can be considered the ultimate killing tool, he is outrageously stupid and slow, but what he lacks for in that, he makes up for in sheer power and durability.

    Personality: Very obedient and fearless.

History: it is unknown where the body that X-104 comes from, however he was manufactured in an old weapons plant in Stalliongrad before his project went out of commission before testing. Now he waits in the deeper darker parts of the world, waiting to be rebooted so he may serve a new master on the field of battle. His intentions are unknown. In order to be of any use, he has to be programmed to do the work and be shown his allies and enemies. Once his allies have been shown, he can easily depict the enemy, however, minimal force is something he isn't familiar with and will make someone Swiss cheese if they simply threaten his allies.

(If I messed up anywhere, please inform me! :) )

Ok I like the overall feel of this app. Just a few problems and half of them are partly my fault.

    1. You have 36 points in your Special stats. 1 too many. I wasn't really strict on this before, but there was a debacle over another players characters stats so I had to reign it in. Also, you can't have a 0 in a special stat.

    2. You are only allow to have a 100 in four skills. Then after that you have 350 points to do what you want with.

    3. Your perks: you are allowed 10, if you're having trouble thinking of some fell free to ask me for help. Alternatively you can go to the fallout wiki, other players might be willing to help as well if you ask. On the subject of your perks, targeting computer is much to vague. We have a system for combat and that perk needs a value for it to work. And since gun fight have been categorized as close, mid, and long range we need so percentile modifier values like: 10% accuracy boost for long range, 20% accuracy boost for mid range, and 30% boost for short range.

    4. What does a photon grenade do?

    5. They dont have jets in Fallout Equestria, but the do have flying vehicles. In FoE vehicles and most energy weapons are powered by magical batteries called spark engines. Also I've never seen a flamed in FoE so I have no idea how they handle that. So I guess you could use spark engine for magically generated flame or you could keep the fuel canisters, but it wouldn't be jet fuel.

    6. You character is a bit too much of a robot, not physically. What I mean is with the way he has to be programmed, doesn't speak, and only really responds to a master i don't see how he would interact in any meaningful way with the other OCs. I see what you were going for, but your character has to be enough of a character to engage the other players.

    7. According to his history he hasn't been discovered yet. Well, he has to have been reactivated at some point for us to meet him. Once again feel free to ask for help here.

    8. Stalliongrad is correct.

    9. His cybernetic leg: you have to tell us the tool configurations. Just a precaution against swish army knifing your way out of everything.

That's all I can think of. I hope I didn't sound to harsh.
