Meh... it can go either way. If it wasn't for the writers, the VA's, and DHX, this show would of been DOA... There are some major hurdles though; 1) reconciling the disappointment season 3 had upon a lot of the fanbase 2) how quick the fan base exploded on the scene in 2011 which could affect peoples decisions to quit the fandom 3) the possibility that other countries will air MLP re-dubbed by their own VA's (this can potentially expand the fan base further) 4) the existence and willingness of trolls to harass the community 5) and of course... the availability of MLP related media and merchandise (via. Hasbro and fans) Otherwise I don't see any problem with MLP becoming an instant classic like say Looney Tunes or LOTR.

I'd have to say the best merchandise is the art done either at the conventions or through comissions via DA. Anyone can make a plushie but only one person can draw something MLP a certain style you really like, plus they are dedicated and put so much time and effort into what they do. Twilight plushies... meh! I overlook her cause we have too much in common.

I think the problem was that the writing just wasn't there. A lot of people would also say that Derpy was practically non-existant, Discord and Trixie got converted, Sombra was virtually a background character, Rarity was shunned, Pinkie was made %20 more annoying, and (drum-role, please) Twilight becomes an alicorn (which I initially wasn't bothered by until I realized she'd be outliving her friends) With that being said, I beg and plead and beg and beg the writers stop, breathe, and take so much time with these next 26 episodes that maybe season 4 will even outdo seasons 1 & 2... but we'll never know. Basically, with season 4 I'd want to see more background stuff about the surrounding lands of Equestria and some more on the traditions and stuff, maybe Thanksgiving pony-style. Also I'd love to see more mythical creatures. It'd draw even more ppl into being bronies. Discord and Chrysalis literally blew me away when I first saw them.

... what about Rarity Seriously, I can't believe HotTopic has so little Rarity merchandise!! There even aren't that many good Rarity plushies out there. I'm backing off from buying the Hasbro ones, just because Rarity's face looks hideous! One thing though... can't wait for the Rarity Micro-series comics!

Chrysalis is best villain! But we definitely need more character development for Sombra. I was expecting so much from him in CE. I mean, we do know he has something for crystal ponies, but I'd really like to know if he was all that evil in the beginning. Maybe like a flashback episode or something along those lines. As for Discord though, there definitely needs to be an episode where he actually helps the Mane 6 and uses his powers of chaos against some evil forces.

Hence, why I said "may or may not have taken the gauntlet..." I may of missed something but after watching the episode again it still seems as though Babs enjoys bullying the CMC. Until she is finally confronted does it seem she has her regrets. Overall, alot of ppl seem to have split opinions about the episode and I honestly don't expect everyone to see it the way I did... I mean the bullies I dealt with back in the day were either bent on being un-remorseful or they just had really tough childhoods.

I agree with you 100% there! The thing is, the writers were really fated with Season 3, namely a lot of "traditional approaches" like two-parters, were either under-developed ("The Crystal Empire 1 & 2") or abandoned and instead rushed beyond anything ("Magical Mystery Cure") when they really needed a two-parter. From a writers standpoint, the writing itself was rushed and un-realistic. For example, in Part II of CE, the fact Twilight had to "pass a test" by saving the CE seemed like an essay that's key points had nothing to do with the thesis and were instead forced to satisfy the condition. "One Bad Seed" may or may not have taken the gauntlet for being the most un-realistic... Though MLP:FiM is a show for little girls, the fact that a bully would all of the sudden realize her mistakes and become "repentful" after getting a taste of her own medicine seems either highly optimistic, or a result of bad judgement on the writers part, though I really don't criticize them b/c it's hard to write something in so little a time frame. Having been bullied myself, making friends is the last thing on a bullies list second only to death. It also appeared that there were characters being thrown into scenes or even individual episodes that could of done with less or totally without. Again, refering back to CE I honestly thought Cadance's role should of been minimal, instead why not have Shining Armor do all the work protecting the empire while she comes last minute to save the Crystal Heart. Heck, Luna should of been the one while SA and Cadance were still off on their honeymoon! ... why FancyPants was in Ponyville, I'll never know. Another thing I cannot stomach is the villian-conversions. Discord and Trixie's "conversion" practically killed what inertia they were garnering being the antagonists and nearly made me quit MLP entirely. The reasons why seem a bit fishy. Perhaps it was done to cater to the adoring fans? Or to sell more toys? Yet how they dedicate one entire episode to S.1 & 2 villians while making it harder for potential new ones to even get as much time space, i.e King Sombra, the Timber wolves seemed troubling. Was it b/c they really didn't know what characteristics Sombra would have? I don't want to burst anyone's bubble, but season 3 felt like a soap-opera TBH. So much drama for the sake of drama! Unlike S.2 I'm beginning to think the impact of the shows success has gotten to the DHX and the writers heads. Really, stop, breathe, and if they have to, postpone the launch date! Quality is better than quantity.
