  1. As he entered and slipped over to the least crowded area of the library, he hesitated a glance towards the mess of books, and a pony recovering from what he assumed happened a few moments ago, prior to him entering the library. At this moment, they didn't seem to need much help. A baby dragon, and a couple of other unicorns could easily clean the...a baby dragon? He briefly looked again, turning his head slightly to the side in confusion, or awe, which he wasn't even completely sure yet. It was probably best not to question the situation that he found himself in. Tearing his eye sight away from the oddest thing he's seen since leaving Manehatten, he turned back to the books, half in attempt to ignore staring at the dragon, and half in attempt to actually find a book. Trying best to keep to himself, he took a couple of steps back from the book case, and used his magic to pull a book down from the top shelf, having absolutely no idea what it was. But that was the joy of randomly picking a book out.
  2. After what seemed like hours of travel and boredom, Ink Quill had finally made it to the outskirts of Ponyville. Proceeding at a slow trot, he sighed at the fact that he didn't pack lightly and had to walk. Even now he began to envy the Pegasus ponies for their wings, after all, it was probably faster and much more enjoyable to fly rather than having to walk. Which is now why he slowly came to a stop. Peering down the road towards the town as it loomed nearby. “These country ponies sure know how to live a basic life." He mumbled, now sitting to catch his breath and resting his hoofs. His parents didn't bother warning him about the sudden change in lifestyle, and prior to leaving, he attempted to brush up on his country accent, of course, with huge failure. Looking back at that experience made him grin a bit, considering his father told him that he would always be a city colt, and for Ink Quill, that didn't bother him at all. Taking in a deep breath, he got back to his hooves, and pressed forwards again, “This is probably the most exercise I've had since the school yard." He joked to himself as he trotted along the path. “Check the library first, see if they need help with anything, stay a couple days, before moving on." He spoke up, as a couple of Earth ponies passed by, one of which shot a questioning glance towards the Unicorn, then giggled with her friend. The giggling from the two Earth ponies, only caused Ink Quill to take a faster pace. Due to practically running, entering town seemed to only take him a few more steps. Finally, he made it to Ponyville. Taking in the sights on his way down the streets, as well as the air, he smiled to himself as he continued. Obviously he was lost, but that didn't hinder his travel through the streets, although, he did ask for directions, and was pointed to a rather strange sight, at least for him. A tree. Correction, a large tree with doors, windows, some few other nicknack's, and a balcony? Odd, he thought. Turning his head to the side, as he looked at the tree, he then nodded his respects to the pony, and started off towards the tree, it wasn't what he was expecting, but his parents did warn him that things in Ponyville wouldn't be like what they are in Manehatten. He heard commotion from inside, and hesitated, before finally taking the courage and pushing the doors open, and slipping inside, hopefully unnoticed.

  4. Alright, I'll start out with what lead me to thinking this. A friend and fellow Brony, who sported a Derpy Hooves hat to Gen Con this year, brought back some gifts for my roleplay group, and the item I got was a Sonic Screwdriver, one of those toy ones (similar to 10th Doctors.) Now, I'm a huge Doctor Who fan, and I've seen almost all the episodes since the reboot of the show (which was on the 9th Doctor). When I got home. I started thinking, now at this time it was 1 AM, so I've been thinking this over for an two hours straight, and its driving me up a wall. Anyways, everyone who watches, or has watched The Doctor, knows that Timelords can regenerate. My question is, can a male Timelord regenerate into a female one and vice versa? I was discussing this briefly with some people on Facebook, and they...weren't following what I was trying to discuss, so I was little annoyed. Actually, while in the middle of this, someone stated information that I didn't know about, which I will get to in a bit. So, my argument is as followed: I mean, if you really want to get down to it. Taking the example of a human being, we need the opposite gender to have off-spring. If the Timelords were an advance race of people before the Time Wars, then they either had some way to stop regeneration into the opposite gender, either cloning, or some sort of genetic marker. Or, the timelords themselves got to choose which gender they wanted to be since each and every time they regenerate, which if thats the case, would explain why the Doctor hasn't randomly regenerated into a female. If its a random thing, then gender swapping after regeneration might be an EXTREMELY rare chance, having the Doctor regenerate 11 times now, throughout his 900+ years. If we wanted to treat that comic relief attempt by BBC as official, the question of is it willingly done by the Timelord his/herself, or is it genetic? Say the Timelords were not an advance race long before the time war, and that they had their natural ability to regenerate, and that programmed into this ability was a genetic fault that said "X amount of regenerations causes gender swap." I'd assume by the time that they were actually an advance time manipulating race, they'd have technology to alter, or change, this DNA/Genetic fault, and have it to where they say the same sex that they were born with. Of course, this is assuming they had a genetic fault to begin with. Now, someone stated the following: Great point, I've thought of that too actually. Yes it is possible for Time Lords to change gender, it was said in "the Doctor's Wife" that the Corsair, another Time Lord, would always have a snake tattoo on him or sometimes her. So yes. As for a choice, I would guess not, as nothing else of the Doctor's next regeneration has been knowingly influenced by him (i.e. the running joke of "still not ginger") However no other Time Lords have been known to change genders, so perhaps the gender-shift is a sort of birth defect in the Corsair...? Now you've got me wondering... Of course, this opens up a lot more questions in regards to this birth defect being just known to the Corsair, or does it have something to do with the snake tattoo, and so forth. Opinions, thoughts?
  5. Thank you to all three of you! Glad to be here.
  6. I'm glad the Barnes and Nobles reference was caught, even though I was at a lack of creative insight for a name at that time, I just decided to change a couple of words and letters. Some of my characters generally tend to represent me in a way, the way he gained his cutie mark happened plenty of times with me in real life (minus the magical glow and then a cutie mark appearing, then the lecture.) I was planning on making the character have an adventure while getting to Canterlot, not just skipping from Manehatten to Canterlot, but going to different places, and meeting people. I'm assuming Ponyville and Manehatten are close to each other, due to the MLP:FIM episode for the Cutie Mark Crusaders, so that would be the first stop!
  7. Name: Ink Quill Nickname: Quill Sex: Male Age: Stallion Species: Unicorn Pelt Color: Navy Blue Mane/Tail/Markings Color & Style: Messy black mane, and a tail to match with dark blue highlights. Eye Color: Blue Cutie Mark: Quill on top of a book Physique: Medium built, slim Origin: Manehatten Roleplay Type: Mane Occupation: Author / Editor Motivation: To provide interesting stories to all of Equestria. Likes: Apples, Writing, Running, Social Events, Story Telling, Being on time, Smoothies, Schedules, Organization, Adventures, Ghost stories. Dislikes: Being rushed or late, Blue Police Barns, Snobby or Rude ponies, Being Unorganized. Personality: Upon first meeting someone, he is shy, quiet, and generally keeps to himself. However, upon knowing the stallion or mare in question, he becomes talkative and outgoing, as well as providing a fun and loving atmosphere when around friends. Character Summary: Growing up in Manehatten, Ink Quill, always had a fondness for writing and story telling, since he was a young colt, he would always tell stories to his friends and sometimes his own family. His family owned a local book store in downtown Manehatten, known as “Barns and Books”. Considering that he always had writing materials on hand, he spent most of his time during school writing creative pieces rather than actually learning what the lesson of the day, or even the lesson of the week was. Though, due to his parents owning a book store, he spent his nights studying and catching up on work that was due the next day. Probably one of the most embarrassing moments of his life, was when he gained his cutie mark. While sitting in class one fateful day, while writing a story, one that obviously had nothing to do with the assignment of the day, a light shined briefly, causing the teacher and the rest of the class to get distracted. Slowly he stopped writing as the teacher had stopped lecturing, and all eyes seemed to be focused on him. At first he thought he did something wrong, sitting in silent for what felt like an hour, but was really mere-minutes, he didn't realize what happened, until the teacher changed the lecture to cutie marks, and how they were acquired. When he was a young Stallion, his parents asked him if he could attempt to expand the family business, this would be achieved by opening a new book store in a town further away from Manehatten. Having never actually left Manehatten in his entire life, he saw it as an adventure, and a challenge. Setting his goals for Canterlot, the Capital of Equestria, he began packing. Once he was ready to leave, he said good bye to his family, and friends, and set off to begin the adventure of a life time, at least for him. He saw this as an opportunity to begin a new life, and to write a story of his endeavors, also seeing it as an opportunity to meet new ponies.
  8. Thank you both! I'm pretty sure I'll enjoy my stay here, and the atmosphere thus far seems great and welcoming, which is generally a plus in my book in concerns to RP forums.
  9. Glad to be here, and truthfully, I'm anxious to begin actually writing Ink Quill, oddly enough after I designed him on one of those random pony generators I decided that he would probably be an interesting character, though, I still wanted to stray away from roleplaying in the ponyverse. Curiosity got the better of me, and I'm liking it. I've glanced over the rules prior to signing up, though I'm heading back in a bit to fully read the rules. Which, I shall do now.
  10. Uhm...Hello! I don't exactly remember where I heard this site from, I think I stumbled upon it when I was randomly searching pony sites, seeing as I enjoy roleplaying, have a fondness for trying new things, writing, and ponies in general, I thought I'd give this place a shot. Considering this will be my first time stepping out of normal fantasy or sci-fi, and stepping into an RP focused on ponies, rather than Humans. Anyways, looking forwards to starting up Ink Quill here, currently working on his application as we speak. Two more posts to go. xD ~ WolfsGhost / Ink Quill
