  1. Yesterday, I told my four year old sister that I would watch something with her. Well, my computer didn't want to cooperate, so I ended up playing the YouTube videos of MLP: FiM out in the living room, where we can hook up a different computer to the TV. Anyway, we watched both parts of the pilot, and by that time, my other eight year old sister and eleven year old brother were out there watching it to. Along the way, littlest sister fell asleep, but we ended up watching through Griffon the Brush Off.

  2. Greetings everypony!

I'm 25, and a female (Even though my favoritist pony OC is male. I blame that on not enough boy ponies to go around when I was little.) I'm a pony collector that also enjoys comics, anime, video games an' you know, the usual junk. I actually left the MLP fandom long ago. I still collected occasionally, my love for toys kept me doing that, but the forums and superfans were just too much.

A friend of mine showed me FIM quite some time ago. I wasn't so sure about it at first. Because, for all the nostalgia, the original MLP cartoons were admittedly terrible and the newer straight-to-dvd movies Hasbro has put out previous to FIM have been even worse. Buuuuuuut . . . after the first episode I couldn't stop watching it for some reason. I found out a short time later when I researched it, that Lauren Faust was the creator and THAT made sense. I've been a fan of Powerpuff Girls and Foster's since ever.

Cool, I like comics and Anime too. Also do some gaming. I wasn't sure about FiM at first either. I enjoyed the cartoons as a kid, but I had seen some of the G3 videos...

When I first saw the series, the animation did remind me of PPG, and the show just looked like the Cartoon Network style. Did you also know the voice actor for Bubbles is the same as Twilight Sparkle?

  3. And I can't help but mention this Spyro game. The next one. To be release this Fall, Activision has combined a toy to video game combination that looks to be interesting. IMO, this is right up Hasbro's alley

Yes I know, Spyro's new look is ugly, we all know...

    This concept seems interesting... :?

BUT THE HECK HAPPENED TO SPYRO?!

  4. And not only new background ponies (a lot of them!) but all kinds of crazy outfits on them as well. Along with new locations, new backgrounds, and a TON of crowd shots. They put plenty of work into this. Most cartoons don't even animate crowd shots, and if they do, it's usually just a few people in the front. If these guys have a low budget, Faust is the George Lucas of cartoons and this is her Star Wars.

Yes, there were several new ponies, even if they weren't in shots for a long time. Also, yes, several crowd shots. Lots of ponies to fit into one episode. With creating all those new ponies, did they really have time to make sure every single pony in every single crowd shot was different?

  5. hi hi

I had a friend that used to drive two and a half hours each weekend to watch other people roleplay/hang out, but she never wanted to actually join in herself, she was just content to watch and converse. That is just the kind of vibe I got anyway. Have you ever known someone who just wants to watch but never actually joins in? I've also seen it with sports and video games too.

    I do this sometimes. :?

  6. Haha, Pinkie Pieeeeeee

Also, something I didn't quite get, was at the beginning of the episode when Fluttershy and Rarity were at the Spa, how come Fluttershy didn't get all the stuff Rarity did?

    Like the full mud mask..

I got the feeling Fluttershy just doesn't care for that sort of thing as much as Rarity does. She may go to the spa more to please Rarity than to please herself. I mean, most girls like spa days, some just more than others. Fluttershy may see some of the treatments Rarity gets as unnecessary for herself. Rarity is all about fashion and looking good, while that is likely not a high priority on Fluttershy's list.

And perhaps that non-necessity was what made her so popular to model anyways. Is it possible she has more natural beauty than Rarity?

Perhaps. Since Fluttershy doesn't use tons of make-up and clothes to flatter herself, perhaps her true beauty shines through: herself.

Some people do have natural beauty, but they don't see it in themselves. They may be more beautiful than those who do themselves up to try to impress. They are beautiful just the way they are.

  7. hi hi

I didn't get the impression that Fluttershy thought the treatments were unnecessary. I got the impression that it was just her inherent timidness to not go all out with the full spa treatment. I know some timid friends who don't particularly like trying new things and will order the most unadventurous meal when we go to eat at a new place, etc.

But Fluttershy shouldn't have been shy. It seemed the spa day was a weekly thing with her and Rarity.

  9. Hello! Welcome to the forums!

Ahh, the original Spyro games were good. I haven't touched any of the newer games but I'm horribly frightened of them... It's usually never a good thing when another developer takes over a franchise. *laments Crash Bandicoot*

I played one of the new games. It was kind of like a revamp of the original. You had to learn to fly and whatever else. It was dumb.

It also may have been the same one I beat in 10 hours. Don't remember which, but one of the newer Spyro's only took 10 hours to beat. Too short!
