    This always brings Twilight's role back into question- just exactly what is she a student for? To succeed Celestia entirely? Or, a student of magic alone? How many students does Celestia have?

    Well, Twilight's friends could be students as well, but that doesn't mean they were taught by Celestia. Having multiple students would be tough for her, since she also has to rule over Equestria and handle any major problems that come up. She's not a exactly a teacher, she's a ruler.

    Is it any coincidence that Twilight is the time before the sun rises and after the sun sets, but when it's still light out? :lol::D

    I imagine Pinkie Pie just smells like cotton candy. I'd say Twilight Sparkle would smell a little more refined, like lavender. I would say that Fluttershy would smell like pine, because she's around nature a lot. Rarity would probably smell like some kind of fancy pants perfume no pony can pronounce. Applejack probably smells like apples and dirt, a sweet earthy smell. I really can't think of a good one for Rainbow Dash right now, I'm just going to say she smells like dryer sheets.

    ... I just noticed Gramps doesn't have a cutie mark. Why hasn't that been mentioned on that page?

    Also kind of half-confirmed that two ponies can share the same cutie mark.

    I'd say confirmed, two ponies have the hour glass mark.

    In Sonic Rainboom, one of the competitors looks just like "Dr. Hooves" complete with Hour Glass make but as a Pegasus (and a much younger voice). I suspect that is really based on reuse of templates to speed production time, just as Gramps lacking a mark is likely a small animation mistake (I believe Sapphire in the Diamond Dogs episode is also missing a mark).

    Well, there's that as well, HOWEVER, in the first episode, one of the three (two?) ponies Twilight Sparkle speaks to in Canterlot has an hour glass Cutie Mark as well. That's what I was referencing. She's in the Wiki, I forget her name though.

    I was watching Feeling Pinky Keen again and I suddenly had a revelation. I recall hearing somewhere that Earth Ponies were supposed to have a strong connection with the earth, plants, animals and living things in general, in the same way that pegasai have a connection with the sky and unicorns have a connection with magic.

    But if you can believe that all life has an energy to it, an energy that surrounds us and binds us. Suddenly Pinkie Pie's ability to predict the future makes perfect sense. She's actually some kind of jedi master... One wonders what else she might be capable of.

    I wish I had the link but I did see someone asking Lauren about the Earth ponies since Unicorns had magic and Pegasus had power over the weather. She did state that Earth ponies are especially attuned to the land and nature and that is why they focus on farming, growing, animal care-taking, and so forth. Pinky though, her ability may be entirely unique.

    I think that's where we're going with this: it's unique, but related to her being an Earth pony.

    It actually makes more sense if Scoot was adopted.

    Cauuuse I read Scoot can't fly yet...

    I suspect that has more to so with her age as her wings are pretty small, and all Pegesai have to go through that awkward part of their lives in learning to fly as foals

    There is a scene in the end of episode 2 where there's little baby pegasus ponies putting a ring of flowers around Luna, and they're smaller than Scoots.

    Ah, you beat me to saying something about it.

    Except that ... there is some pretty good evidence that they aged. Look at Luna's state - she tried to artificially age herself up with her dark power, but she's reverted to her younger age once her dark power was broken.

    I'm not entirely sold that evidence of them reversing in age is evidence that theyve aged- for all anyone knows their appearance could be a representation of how much power they currently hold. If Luna was stripped of some power, or partially sealed, then that would explain her regression in appearance of age.

    Perhaps I'm assuming too much, but when I think of Celestia and Luna, I have the impression that they are nearly the same age- just Luna was born second. Like twins, so to speak. If they had dual responsibility to raise the sun and moon, wouldn't they both have to be relatively the same age to start trading cycles?

    I suppose its possible if Luna and Celestia inherited their abilities.

    Perhaps they stop aging after they reach a certain point. Or, technically, they could just be using different healing spells on themselves to regenerate parts of their body at a time, and thus remain immortal, yet normal.

    I think that Celestia and Luna are very close in age, however, I do not believe they are twins, nor were they born in the same year. I do think they were born close together, within the span of a few years, but not at the same time.

    I'm kind of in the same boat. Except I feel like any character I make is just too lame :D

    Eh, my character is a black Unicorn (or Pegasus) with a short silver mane and tail and no cutie mark. Pretty basic, and I asked for a request anyway.

    It'd be cool if you could draw my character ShadowMist (viewtopic.php?f=31&t=272), who I don't have a ref for. I'll write something for you, a piece of fanfiction using ponies or something entirely different. Story, poetry, whatever.

    You know what, i really have no experience in this (experience with writing and the subject matter), so i'm just going to scrap this. it sucks, and i don't think it'll turn out anywhere. Kat and Sky end up in ponyville, and nothing really happens on the way there. so, there's my story! :lol:

    There are some stories that just don't work. (Not speaking specifically about your story, haven't read it yet.) If you're not used to writing, it can be rough starting out. It's something that needs to be practiced, and having people read what you've written can help point out what you can work on. Read a lot, and write a lot, and you'll get better with time. It's an art form, and generally those take practice.
