I assume it was profile data, which is pretty much assumed to be public.

Yes, that's why I said I got it from profiles, or public access places profiles linked to, or it was given out in the public chat. Anything I gathered was willingly given to me in a public location with other users, or was already online.

Today I spent the day organizing the members on this board, and trolling the chat to find some pony's age/sex/location.

Everything I have gathered on anypony was published on this site, or a site that was linked on somepony's profile, or given publicly in the chat.

Anyway, came up with some random statistics. GreenHorn asked me to post them.

There are currently 19 males and 23 females.

The state with the most members is California, followed by Arizona

The youngest member is 14 and the oldest is 32.

There are members from 18 different U.S. states.

There is at least one member from these places: Australia, Canada, Chile, Columbia, England, Europe, Germany, New Zealand, Norway, Scotland, United Kingdom

41 users have never posted on the board.

There are 64 members I have no idea where they live and/or what state/country they live in.

There are 104 members whose gender I do not know.

Statistics are based on whose information I know, so they are not entirely accurate

First saw this through a link on Equestria Daily: Someone recently made a post on Ponychan about a very difficult situation in their life confronting an abusive stepfather for his crimes, and managed work up the courage to do it with a little help from FiM, especially Dash. What really made the story cool is Faust herself leaves a very supportive comment in the thread, very awesome indeed. ^_^

@MyLittlePonyFics: What was your purpose in writing 'Dashed'? I mean... part of the reason I disliked it was that it just felt... well, no offense intended, but a lot of people are very used to stories which have run out of ideas try to drum up readership or attention by killing off a main character, or someone who's not a very good writer trying to 'make a good story' by killing someone off. And even worse, especially with comics, no one who gets killed ever stays dead - which makes #2 a bit ... even more eh. And with her losing her wings, again, it just seems... unnecessarily cruel.

I think I was actually inspired a bit by another fic I read, in which RD loses her wings, but Twilight makes them grow back in the end. I just put my own spin on that, I guess, but I didn't copy anything except that Dash loses her wings. At the end, I guess the main thing is that even though we get hurt emotionally in life by people we know, if we're really their friend, we can try to understand their pain. And if you really cared about someone all those years ago, if you really loved them, your friendship should be able to last, even through time and hurt.

This is the closest we've gotten to a Spike episode. <3 "An Hero" version of Spike!

So uh, this is like my favorite episode so far. I love Spike, Rarity, Spike/Rarity... Macho Spike was hilarious! And all his dramatic "Nooooooo"s, and Rarity's whining... The more I see of Spike the more I want to see!

Anybody else think the diamond dogs were a dig at that awful-looking Pound Puppies show? At least one of the guys working on FiM has mentioned he and his coworkers agree that the only good thing about that show is the "secret butt fun" joke. And there was a lot of tail-grabbing and a rump-smacking.

I think this episodes meaning was stated pretty clearly "Don't underestimate somepony just because's she's a filly."

If I was going to look deeper into it, Twilight's a filly, as are Dash and AJ, and the other ponies wouldn't have expected them to be useless if they were kidnapped, but they're all tomboys. What made the gang underestimate Rarity is her femininity. Femininity is often associated with weakness, but Rarity proves this isn't the case. Twilight realizes in the end that the "girly girl" can take care of herself pretty well after all.

If one of the other ponies was captured the way Rarity was, everypony would still come to their rescue. But because it was Rarity in this instance, they didn't expect her to be able to fight back the way they all would.

I guess the moral was kind of "Pretty fillies can handle themselves, but maybe not in the way you'd expect." Or something.

In reality likely one of the animators is a big Rainbow Dash fan and figured "hey I'll give her a bring cameo because there will be no objection to that" and put her in.

Everybody is a fan of Dash.

She's there because... Uh... She was on a date with Applejack and/or Rarity. Rainbow Dash is a pimpette, after all. *nodnod*

It was just a matter of time before somepony said something like that.

Twilight Sparkle is in Ponyville learning about friendship. Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle, and Scootaloo are very good friends, so Twilight is simply studying them XD. Rarity and Applejack are relations, so what is with the random RD?
