Roleplay Type: Main RP Name: Shinygear Sex: male Age: younger stallion Species: unicorn Eye colour: a light green Coat: a red-maroon hue Mane/Tail: a light brown Physique: shorter than average, but strong. Residence: Hoofington Occupation: mechanic/craftspony Cutie Mark: Shinygear's cutie mark is a bronze gear surrounded by a gold ring. Shinygear received his cutie mark at a young age, while he was still being raised in Hoofington. It was the day of the science fair at his school, and Shiny was ready to show the class his 'super cool' compass he and his dad had made out of a cork and a needle. Shiny already knew this was nothing special, so he contained the compass inside of a hallowed out wristwatch and filled said wristwatch with water so that the compass was contained. That's what made his project 'super cool', and he was sure everypony else would agree. As he was reaching the school, Shiny spotted a bit out in a ditch. He couldn't resist, and jumped in to grab his prize. As he picked the bit up, he spotted another, going farther out into the forest. So he trotted out to grab that bit too. Soon, he was following a trail of bits out into the forest, not realizing that he had something important to do. He didn't regain himself until he was deep in the forest, and couldn't remember where had came from. At this point, he was frightened beyond belief. His dreams of going to the candy shop and buying bag-fulls of candy after school were completely shattered, and Shiny started crying. It wasn't until his compass started working that he regained hope. Someone, has barely functional wrist-compass has found something, and so, without any idea what he was following, Shinygear continued trotting in no particular direction until he came to a cave, and his compass stopped working. Now, Shinygear was fairly frustrated that his compass had gotten him even more lost, but, being the curious child that he was, Shiny trotted into the cave without a care. After what felt like an eternity, Shinygear stumbled over something strange-looking and yellow. He picked it up in his hooves, and realized it was a gemstone! At that moment, he heard the yells of his classmates and teacher. They had gone looking for him! But Shinygear knew no pony would find him in a dark cave. So, with all he knew from watching his father work, he took apart his science project and rearranged into a small light-emitting device, using the gemstone as the source of the light. He shot it up through a crack in the ceiling, and within a matter of minutes, his friends had found him! As they returned to the school, everypony watched, fascinated by the crazy little thing that Shiny had created. Later that day, he won first place in the science fair. But that wasn't the only thing he achieved. His cutie mark. History: Shinygear was born in Hoofington, into a family of Mechanics, engineers, wood-carvers, and other creative groups on ponies. He was an only child at the time, which gave plenty of time to (fascinatingly) watch his father work. Even as he grew up into a teen, watching his father fix or make things for other ponies was his favorite thing to in his free time. This was what inspired him to become a professional mechanic himself, but with his own twist. Instead of working only with metals and such, Shiny learned how to work with wood and other physical arts, becoming kind of a 'jack of all trades' in the subject. This led him to becoming the quirky and kind pony he is now. He always considered his life 'great' with always having fun work to do, school and visiting with family and friends. At the end of every school year, he would always talk with his friends and family as soon as possible. However, he ALWAYS dropped by his parents first. His parents are known as metal mallet and 'mummy' as Shiny calls her. A blacksmith and an artist, both loving and supporting parents that make up a lot of his life even today. He even got the opportunity to have a little sister known as Sawdust Splinter, who looks up to him as much as he looks up to his father. However, after he moved away to ponyville, things got a lot tougher for Shiny. He grew up and bought his own house, which was fine. He met the mare of his dreams, that was amazing. He made an enemy or two, and that wasn't the best, but he was still happy. But after the fateful day when his girlfriend left him for his enemy, he became a completely different unicorn. For several months, he stopped visiting his parents and friends, he started wearing lots of black, he took up archery and wore this weird wooden mask around all the time. Even now, when he's gotten over the incident, he isn't nearly as silly and happy and talkative as he was. After everything that has happened to him, he's still a mechanic. He has moved back to Hoofington. He still loves his family and friends and he still loves being himself. From where he is now? For now, he's happy where he is. If anything, he would just want to became a well know, trust worthy pony to go to when you have something broken, or, you want to get somepony something special for a birthday. That's what Shiny wants. For others to be as happy as he was. Character Summary: Shinygear is, like I said, a mechanic. He fixes things, he makes things, smelts, carves, whatever you want, he'll try his best to do it. He loves what he does, which is lots of the motivation for what he does. It's fun, it's fun to watch, it makes other ponies happy. And that makes Shinygear happy. He dreams of becoming a popular pony for newcomers in ponyville to trot up to. To be a friendly face to everypony. He loves making other happy, the colour red, action films, and, he especially loves his parents, who, without them, would just become...very ordinary. Some of the things he strongly dislikes are waterfalls, heights, Ponies who stand over him for no reason, and mice. He hates mice. When I was talking about things Shiny loves, I should've mentioned that he loves archery, because that's something that takes up much of his time. After being dumped, he nothing to do with the time he usually used hanging out with his mare friend. So he took up archery, because it was the closest thing he could find to taking out his anger on trees. That was something he did a lot. As for his behavior, you could say it has improved in the friendly factor, or you could say that he seems more dark. Making friends with him is easy: trot up to him, say hi. Talk about anything; he'll probably be your friend by then. But when no pony is around, he gets very bored easily and sits very still until somepony comes to give him something to do. It's that creepy. And when he's being bored, it seems that he becomes very clumsy. In fact, when he becomes moody in any way, he seems to put less effort into everything and will probably stumble over himself, and embarrass himself LOTS. Which will put him in an even moodier state. Deal with his bored...ness before it becomes a big problem, it's a good idea. And You know how I said that Shinygear hates mice? Well...he's one of those ponies. You know the ones. The ones that seem to be not afraid of anything...until it's right there. That's right, Shinygear is afraid of not being under control of himself. If he fails to keep something crazy he's doing under control, he'll probably give up or go into that 'moody/embarrassment' state we were talking about. There you have it! This may not be my best writing work, but I hope it's good enough because I'm fairly proud of this! Bye bye! ~Shinygear

I think I might just write a rhymey thingy. So, I was biking down a lane, I forget what it was called. But now it is over, I'm at my friends playin' Donkey kong. Jet pack trolling is funny, but to him it really sucks, So every time I do it he says: "What the firetrucks!" This makes me really annoyed, Smosh can make me Irrate, but then he will just tell me: "You just don't know what you should hate!" This will lead to a flame war, we boot up windows '98, We go onto our Tumblr's and start on a new slate; Smosh is really funny, follow if you agree! This guy is totally sharking, You should follow me! I don't know where I'm going, with this fiction rhyme, So pull me out, like sour crout, before I start to CRRRY! Ta-da! Wow, I put more effort into that then I should've.

Question 1. What has technology come to be in Equestria when I jump in? Are their cell phones, or is it canon tech? Because if I could I would something like the beginning of a star trek episode on my cell phone: send them to my family each day. "Equestrians log: today, pinkie pie fed me a cupcake. It tasted like steak. Weird. Question 2. If somepony in Equestria created this portal, couldn't it be created again? Unless this is some 1000 year summer celebration mumbo jumbo, it's already been proven on numerous occasions that most spells and such only take two things, the things that most shows that kids watch have implemented into them: practice and care. Take the Twilight sparkle montage in the wedding episode. It shows Twilight and Shining helping each other to become stronger unicorns. Some years later, Twily has mastered TELEPORTATION, which is something I'm sure most people have always wanted to do. But now I'm getting way off task. Yes, I'd jump through the portal.

Worst pony? Hmmm...I'm going to have to say that grey colt in Cherilee's class, who gives her a valentine card, he just...seems out of place to me.
