  1. Not sure if it's a bug, or just a broken link, but I'll post this here, nevertheless.

Name: The new 'Roleplay Portal' is looping me back to the main Canterlot page--it was working this morning when I clicked it, but now every time I click it it takes me back to the main Canterlot page.

Section: Front page of the forums, the 'Roleplay Portal'

Browser: Google Chrome, and tried it in Firefox just cuz I had it open. Same result.

Holly, oddly enough, found herself giggling at the stallion pegasi. He was just so awkward! It honestly made her more comfortable. She sat down, and smiled at him as he inquired to her, "Yes, mah name is Holly Dash. Though ah'm sometimes not sure why I was named it--I mean sure, ah got the Dash--as you can see ah'm a dang fast pony."

She grinned as she boasted of her abilities, "But my real talent is fruit! Not Holly...."

She tapped her chin at the thought, but truly, when she thought of her awful parents, it was a miracle that they didn't name her something worse, "What's that you said about unicorns bein' slow? I betcha two bits I could beatcha in a one on one! I just got stuck in the sap this time, but I was out there at the front of the pack for a good long while, y'know!"

She smirked, and stooped her front end down, bringing her rear in the air and wagging her multi-colored tail fervently, "I'll race ya to prove it!"

Her knees wobbled, and her rump plopped to the ground, bringing her to a lying down position, "Err...Maybe after Ah've rested a while. Ah am pretty beat..." She grinned sheepishly, blushing a bit.

Holly Dash turned to the green pegasi. She had been heading towards him, but in the rush of crowding ponies, had almost missed him. She smiled. He was kinda awkward--if she were a more classy filly, she might have actually been offended by what he had said.

"No worries, pal," She smiled brightly, her white smile an obvious contrast to the pale color of her coat, "Ah just thought it mighta come across as rude of me to have been so short with you, not answerin' yur greeting and all. I just thought I'd come to congratulate you, and apologize for mah behavior. "

She paused, and tapped her chin with her forehoof, "Let's see now....yur name was.....Ze.....Zeee....." She put her hoof down, one eyebrow lowered and a frown of confusion on her face, "I'm sorry, yur gonna have to spell it out for me. I plum forgot--I s'pose I did only hear it once when they announced the winners..."

Bon Bon's face went a soft scarlet when her unicorn friend brushed a hoof across her face, moving a strand of sticky hair aside.

"Well, Lyra, I actually made these especially for y--" Bon Bon's cheeks reddened darker, but she was unable to complete her sentence as she was interrupted by a brown and white pinto colt trotted in.

"Oh, there you are, miss," Bon Bon frowned. She already didn't like this colt--not anything personal, of course, she just hated when anyone came between her and Lyra, especially when it was something that she considered special, "I know we might've gotten off on the wrong hoof, but I'd still like to congradulate you on a fine race! Y'know Lyra, you are by far the most beautiful filly in this entire race. Will ya do me the honor of going out on a date with me?"

Bon's jaw slacked, and the basket balanced on the top of her muzzle slipped to the earth, and the contents rolled out. She gasped as her perfect chocolates fell to the earth--and one she had made especially for Lyra--it had taken her numerous attempts at designing her friend's cutie mark on the top--and now it was broken. She gaped at the crumbled chocolate--and tried to hide her devastation. Her right lower eye lid twitched, and she forced a smile, though there was the glassy hint of tears over her bright blue eyes, "That...That's okay! Oops! Don't worry about it! I mean it was my fault anyway..."

Bon Bon was having issues comprehending what the male pony had said, and to hide her confusion, anger, and....other strange arrays of emotions, she knelt and busied herself with cleaning up the mess of crumbles and tried to save the few unbroken pieces.

    "Holly! I nee...over here! I n...a te turn.....oven off....make sure.....no fire..... house!"

Holly, just plopping her floating water orb onto the fire--and putting out a decent amount of the flames, when she heard Applejack's call. She turned to her friend, barely able to hear her over the roar of the flames, but she got the gist of what the orange earth pony was asking. There was another fire danger in the house, and she needed somepony to turn it off-and lickity split-like. Holly, proud to be the third place pony of the Running of the Leaves this year, reared up and jetted off, horn-first towards the house, and barreled in to see the oven lightly smoking--but no flames had been produced yet.

She rushed over to the oven and after turning it off quickly with her teeth, magicked the door open, and gagged and sputtered as smoke billowed into her face. Unable to grab the oven's contents without choking, she ran to the front windows, pushing them all open, the smoke escaping enough for her to make her way back to get the black log of a cake out of the oven. Coughing as she set the deformity down, she began to fan at the smoke with the oven mitt she had used.

With a sudden thought that maybe the increase of smoke might lead to somepony thinking there WAS a fire, she spit out the oven mitt and galloped out of the house, and called as loud as she could--using the common voice-increase spell to a sure she was heard, and her voice boomed as her scream was combined with the megaphone spell, "NO FIRE HERE. JUST A BURNT CAKE."

  6. Well I couldnt think of a way to say it before, but the crimson moon (the way I see it) represents a lot of individuality because theres really nothing else like it. It's totally unique, and I feel that that ties in with DarcMoun's personality because of his sense of individualism he is also totally unique, and feels that every pony has the right to be unique and not made fun of it for it. I can change it if you want me to, though

Well, that can be said about EVERY cutie mark. As that IS what cutie marks are meant to represent--the one unique trait that makes that pony different from everypony else.

I can't make you change it, but it just doesn't make sense, in my opinion.

  7. Honestly, I'd totally go for it. I was actually totally surprised the other day--I have this coworker who seems like one of THOSE types (highly judgemental, snooty, and all around rather preppy) and then she saw that I had a MLP:FiM toy in my hand--and she was like, "OMG! I LOVE MY LITTLE PONY!!! THE FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC SERIES IS AWESOME!!!"

Needless to say, I was shocked. She was not nearly 'brony' material, but she loved the show. You may be pleasantly surprised. Also, yes. You spelled brony and bronies correctly.

  8. Just browsing through here, I thought I'd mention something--I don't fully get how his cutie mark is relayed in his 'cutie mark story.' It's not really mentioned what the cutie mark represents, and what each part of the cutie mark plays into his personality.

    Character Summary:

Born and raised in a small cottage at the edge of the Whitetail woods, where from a very young age she helped her mother raise and take care of animals. From early on, she had a natural ability to draw other ponies out of their shell, and into who they really are. Her normally very withdrawn mother, blossomed into a warm, loving parent who laughed often and played with her young filly even more.

In school, she was friends with all of her classmates, and each one of them found that when they were with her, their cutie marks were drawn out. This left her as the last one in her class to get her mark. It took her a long time before she realized that THAT was what her talent was! Helping other ponies realize their talents! This formed into her cutie mark—all of the stars she made shine, coming out from behind the clouds, before finally the brightest of all—the lovely moon came out.

She loves to study the stars, and dream about flying to the moon and dancing with the stars. She knows the star charts forwards and backwards, and her favorite time to fly is at night.

After applying numerous times, she was finally accepted--albeit in the lowest rung of classes--into Celestia's school for gifted fillies. She is adamantly studying the astronomy books and frequents the astronomy tower of Canterlot Castle, which is where she met Princess Luna one night.

    Friends:

Princess Luna- Met in the roleplay 'The Moon, in Full View' she met, talked and got to know the Princess.cerena.png

Holly Dash, a non-resident fruit vendor, and a friend of Applejack, had had a visit planned with her friend--this was going to be the weekend when they sold fruit together! She had been busy getting lost throughout Ponyville, and finally managed to find her way to Sweet Apple Acres--clearly, she must've misinterpreted the directions Applejack had given her, for she had wound up at nearly ever farm surrounding Ponyville EXCEPT Sweet Apple Acres.

She was ill-prepared for what met her when she arrived to the site. At first, all she saw was the billowing curls of smoke in the sky, but too soon, the billows were pushed about and spread wider, as their source grew larger and larger, blazing up in the hay loft of the barn.

"FIRE! FIRE!APPLEJACK! BIG MAC! THE BARN'S ON FIRE! WE GOTTA GIT IT OUT!"

She turned to see an elderly pony barely inching towards the barn, and she knew that she MUST help! She reared up onto her hind hooves and whipped around, heading for the well near the entrance of the farmyard. She looked down into the well at the steadily flowing watersource. She had never magicked so much water before--but this was no time to be 'learning' using every ounce of magic she had within her, she pulled at the water. At first, it plopped back down into the well. She looked back, and cringed as a portion of the roof fell, releasing a plume of embers. She did not see her friend, but that didn't matter. She concentrated harder, and forced her magic even harder, forming a tight orb of water, and pulling it out of the well. She bit her lip as she strained the magic, but with a fiery determination, started galloping to the barn.

  11. Holly was so caught up in the aftershock of the contest, that she forgot about that silly ol' griffon. She looked around, and spotted the 2nd place winner through the crowd of ponies. Seeing that Stormsong had yet to arrive, she trotted through the ponies over to the griffon and the pegasus pony that had come in second.

She puffed herself up as she approached, and as she got nearer and nearer, she caught just the end of their conversation.

. "I'll show you someday that today you and all these other loser ponies were just lucky. Gilda the griffin is really the fastest one here! You can count on that!"

"Then ya won't be afraid to prove that next year, fair and square, eh, beakster?" Holly sniped to the griffon. She laughed though, she couldn't keep up this fake mean attitude, and she smiled a wide, friendly smile at the griffon, "I'd love to race with you some time--maybe before a whole 'nother season goes by. Yur darn fast--you probably would've won if you hadn't stopped to cheat!"

She chuckled again, and extended her hoof in friendship to the bird hybrid, "Mah name's Holly Dash--sorry about crashin' into ya in the race, it really was an accident. Truce?"

  12. hollydashcharacter.png

Holly Dash, just trotting across the finish line, realized something suddenly. There were only two ponies ahead of her. She blinked, eyes wide, shock splattered all over her face. She...she had...won!!?!?! A prize?!?! Like...not just a participation ribbon!??! How was that possible she was--she looked back, and saw Applejack just galloping to the finish line. She must have galloped faster than she thought!

She felt bad again--she had left behind another friend she had just made. She didn't even hear the congratulations that was offered to her, and as a unicorn pony approached her, the third place necklace floating within her magic, she turned away and trotted back to Applejack, who had tied with two other ponies for twelfth place. She approached, head low, and apologized.

"Ah...Ah'm so sorry, Applejack...after what ya did for me, and then Ah just left ya in the dust like that...." She pawed the earth with a hoof, "Can ya ever forgive me?"

The frustrated unicorn pony had caught up with Holly and had a twinge of annoyance on her face, "Congratulations, number....uh...number...." She looked at Holly's flank, and there was no number.

"Oh, ponyfeathers! It must've fallen off when Ah landed in that sap....." She muttered, sure that she would not even get her reward now, what with her number missing.

The unicorn just smiled, "Oh, don't worry so much! We've heard various announcements throughout the race on placing, so we know you've been in the race this whole time. Now, if you wouldn't mind..."

"Yes, Ma'am!" Holly put her head up high and proud, and allowed the unicorn pony to slip the 3rd place medallion around her neck. With wide, proud eyes Holly looked down at the gleaming bronze trophy, and realized something else, too. She had beat that griffon!

  13. hollydashcharacter.png

Holly had a serious lag in the home stretch, but thank Celestia that that orange earth pony—Applejack—had come along. She had been too stunned initially to spare a response or a courteous hoof shake to the orange earth pony, and had stood mind-numb, and quivers shaking as she wheezed, finally catching her breath, inhaling the sweet air as though it was the last air she would breathe. She had never realized how much she depended on her mouth before! It was still swollen and red from the tear from the stubborn sap.

She sighed, and when she was finally ready to speak to the orange pony, it would seem, was still with her, and hadn’t bolted off from the race. She was just lowering an offered hoof, as Holly had missed the extended courtesy in her grope for breath.

"Heh, heh. That's ok. These things happen. Well, the best thing to do now is just run it out. Now that you can at least run, you should just work on finishing the race, and we're almost done! I'll run with you if you don't mind."

Holly smiled at that, and as she responded, she couldn’t help but notice the sting on her lips, “I’d…really…*cough* like that very much, miss Applejack.”

She smiled back at the earth pony, “I suppose there’s no way I’ll beat that cheating griffon now, huh?”

She turned back, realizing she so rudely had not returned the introduction, nor confirmed her presence during the parasprite infestation.

“OH, my apologies. My name is Holly Dash. I was here around the time of that…swarm,” She chuckled slightly, her voice thick with the odd accent of Beakbreak, it almost had a southern hint like Applejack, but was dingy, tainted with something, and almost cleaner at the same time, “I sell fruit, you see. I had actually just started selling fruit when I came to Ponyville…and half mah stock was eaten—Ah’ve heard that somepony got rid of them nasty bugs, though, so Ah’ll have to come back and give you a sample of my wares some time.”

While she was yapping, she had unwittingly started galloping along with the orange earth pony. Being here with the yellow-maned pony made her feel awful about how she had told Stormsong that she would run with her, and deserted her for the sake of competition. She felt ashamed. She would be sure to apologize to her friend at the finish line.

“So, Applejack, was it?” She grinned humorously, and as they galloped into the home stretch, she looked at her running companion, “How DID somepony get rid of those durn parasprites?”

  14. (OOC: My previous post was ignored, so...continuing as though Holly had just tripped, so as not to really affect the flow.)

Holly Dash looked up from her awkward positon. She had tripped over something stuck in the sap, and was greatly relieved at the arrival of an orange-pelted pony, with a long blonde mane. She had been stuck, knees and face glued to the spot due to the thick, stick pool of sap that she had been unfortunate enough to land in.

"Hey, is everything alright? Are you still running the race just fine?"

Holly was astounded. Did it LOOK like she was okay? No. She couldn't even get her mouth out of the sap to speak, so she couldn't answer the freckled earth pony. Desperate to get out of her position, she pulled and yanked at the sticky sap, screaming in the back of her throat, so it came out as nothing but, "MMMMMMHHMMM HHMM MMHH!!!"

The twist of her head caused more of her colorful mane to get stuck in the sap, and she couldn't help uttering a pained groan, her mane hairs being plucked from her mane. She pounded the earth with her rear hooves, her rump flailing in the air as she struggled against the sap, and she pounded her hooves some more, frustrated. She was actually lucky, if any more of her muzzle were in the sap, she wouldn't even be able to breathe. Luckily, she had landed on her chin, and just had a bit of a slip up and found her mouth in the sap.

The sweet smell she was forced to inhale was getting into her head. Her head was already pounding from the overwhelming scent, any more of this and she might pass out. With wide, pleading eyes, she looked up at the orange pony, "MMMRREEEEEEFF???" Was her garbled word for 'please.'
