Roleplay Type: Equestria Mane RP

Sex: Stallion

Age: Stallion

Species: Unicorn

Eye Color: A rivery blue that often sparkles much like the water they imitate when light hits them. At certain angles one eye appears to be darker than the other, though this is actually a facsimile caused by the light.

Coat Color: A dirt brown which compliments the dirty blonde of his mane and tail. His coat is usually kept rather clean, and is surprisingly soft to the touch. At the knees his fur turns white, and continues down to his hooves as it grows in length, covering them slightly.

Mane/Tail/Markings Color & Style: Consonance's mane and tail are a dirty-ish blonde that hang without much attendance, though tend me be on the slightly curly side. A wide-brimmed, pointed cap covers his horn and a majority of his hair.

Apparel: Consonance is almost always wearing his hat, which is of a green felt. It has a wide brim, with one side pinned to the dome of the cap with a metal button of sorts. The button sports a Triscallion. Another common thing to see him wearing is his self-modified Saddlebag of typical colour. This saddlebag features one actual bag, while the other side had a Mandolin case attatched it it. This causes some extra weight, so it must be tightened often.

Physique: Shire-esque in form, Consonance airs on the natural side of Muscular for a Shire. He is of greater height than a normal Stallion, another result of his Shire blood. The sudden change in colouring from his knees down is also typical.

Cutie Mark: A large, ebony-hued tree that seems as if it should belong to an ancient grotto is emblazoned upon Consonance's flank. Various vines hang from the wide-reaching branches of the tree, and, just barely noticeable, the musical note for 'harmony' is carved into the base of the tree.

Origin/Residence: Consonance originated from within Whitetail Wood, and still has a room ready and available for him at his parents' cottage.

Occupation: Consonance is a Storyteller of sorts, hoping to bring ponies together by converting tales of friendship and heroism into bardic art, combining his vocals and the elegant music produced by his mandolin, which he has dubbed 'Concentus'. This line of work doesn't really tie him down anywhere, which is how he likes it. He also gains some money from his hobby, woodworking. His most common works are made from small, 12x12 inch blocks of wood, usually whittled into famous figures. His woodwork is usually quite elegant, having practiced it since he was small.

Motivation: Consonance, being considered 'new to the world' by his own standards, has the desire to travel and see what can be seen. This includes people of varrying, even opposite, interests and personalities, and bring them together as kin. This ties in with his occupation quite well, and often works out to his advantage.

Character Summary: Consonance was born and raised at his parents cottage within Whitetail Wood. Like all children of his family, Consonance was taught how to live independantly, having been taught what plants are edible, and how to properly make tools out of the materials around him. He enjoyed this simple life in the woods with his family, hoof-crafting all they ever needed, growing or gathering their own food; It was peaceful paradise. And, like most of his ancestory, he took up an instrument of his choice. During early Colthood, his father and mother presented him with a variety of hoof-crafted instruments. Out of the many choices before him, he had picked a mandolin. As per tradition of the Bards in the family, he spent two months in isolation with the instrument, composing an original song to perform for his family. During said presentation, in the direct middle, a flash of light blinded everyone, and after dying down, his cutie mark had appeared!

After the performance, and many, many congratulations from his siblings, he returned the mandolin back to his parents, so that he may create his own mandolin. This mandolin would be dubbed 'Concentus'--a synonym of harmony, like his name--and accompany him through all of life's endeavours. He practiced with Concentus for many years, and after reaching Stallionhood, he decided it was time for him to leave. A farewell celebration was thrown to wish Consonance good luck in his travels which lasted for an entire day, constant feasting and dancing ensued. The party done and over, Conconance finally set off on his ways, determined to bring together all of Equestria's people via his music, even if that kinship lasted only for a song.

Consonance's parents met while his mother was on her Journey. His father was working as an innkeeper in a more rural village in The Strand, though did sidejobs painting the local landscapes. This naturally intrigued his mother, and a few years later, Consonance was born. During the periods of time that Consonance visits his family back in the Wood, they often express the great pride they feel for both him and his siblings.

Despite wanting to learn and meet new people, Consonance tends to be a little untrusting of new ideas and practices that conflict this his own. He does his best to cope with this, but it sometimes gets the better of him. Another issue that Consonance tends to have is his short temper when it comes to matter pertaining the well-being of the environment, and more often than not has he gotten in a squabble over something as small as litter. He always takes these unfortunate isntances and turns them into opportunities to better himself, and to help him 'walk his talk'.

Though occasionally losing his cool, Consonance is an over-all charasmatic pony with a sometimes too-kind heart. He always tries his best to be as kind and curteous to all he meets, no matter their past or differences, giving him an accepting sort of attitude. This usally works out for the travelling minstrel. He tends to give off an aura of slight curiousness when faced with something new that doesn't seem too intimidatingly foreign for him, which often leads to great adventures. He speaks with a slight lilt in his light accent (think Irish), which often gives him a sing-songy sort of voice. Consonance, above all, respects traditions of all kinds, though his own always come first, having been raised to put family and close friends before all else. He also tends to take on the personality of those around him a bit, usually wanting to immerse himself with the situation. Though he does indeed prefer bluegrass and folk music over the norm of today's society, he would not shun nor harass somepony who likes it. He simply doesn't enjoy it himself. He would listen to it, but wouldn't pick it as something he'd listen to in his free time.

Concentus: Consonance's mandolin, Concentus, was hoof-crafted by Consonance. It is in the basic tear-shape of most Mandolins and Mandola. Consonance chose an ebony wood for Concentus, and polished it to a glossy lacquer shine. The tuning machines feature small flowers inlaid onto the fronts, and strung around each one are various bird feathers, varrying in colour and size. This is all offset by a simple, yet classy, symmetrical soundhole rosette of tan, black, grained ivoroid, black, and tan. The soundhole itself is bound in ivoroid, along with the face. The back, though, is not. The headstock is also polished black ebony and hosts "Síochána", the Gaelic Irish word for peace, in a Mother of Pearl script. Thereunder is the bell-shaped black plastic truss rod cover held in place by two brave screws. The black ebony fingerboard in laid with six mother of pearl dots in 5 positions and bound in grained ivoroid, finished with more various nature-esque inspired adornments, including varied bird feathers hanging down from the tuning machines' nobs freely.

* Please inform me if you see any spelling/grammatical errors, I cannot catch them as I have been writing due to the fact that I've been staying with a friend and have not had access to my usual computer that automatically informs me of these errors. Anything else that could help me flesh Consonance out more and perhaps get rid of redundant or useless information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. *
