Eye Color: Bright, light orange

Coat Color: A creamy but not pale yellow

Mane Color and Style: Both her mane and tale are a dark purple, and she wears her hair in simple and manageably short styles, her mane in particular being styled in a 50's eqsue coif. She wears a bright red headband right through the middle of her mane.

Physique: Magpie is stocky and heavy set for her age, with no muscle definition and stubby wings. She has freckles beneath her eye, a darker color than her own coat.

Cutie Mark: A bright orange pom pom. Symbolizes her cheering ability, not necessarily the physical aspect of cheering but more the peppy attitude and strong voice needed.

Residence: Born in Fillydelphia, currently lives in Cloudsdale.

Occupation: Currently does not hold a paying job, goes to school.

Motivation: Magpie is inspired by the stories of others; she loves to hear about their struggles and desires in life and bring them hope. She hopes to cheerlead in some respect in her future, and she has plans for achieving this that include getting into shape and making friends and contacts around Equestria.

Likes: Crowds, parties, other ponies who are friendly.

Dislikes: Strenuous activity, quiet places, ponies who give her the cold shoulder.

Personality: Magpie is a relaxed and lazy filly who has let her appearance go as a result, though she is smart enough to understand that this has a negative impact on her cheering ability. She doesn't find excuses so much as she doesn't feel the need to make them, she's very forgiving of both her own and other's mistakes and she's very difficult to rile up or annoy.

Magpie is also naturally a strong speaker, though she's not the smartest pony around she sounds like she is. She's naive though, and doesn't really understand the effects that her charisma could have on others; she couldn't manipulate others since she doesn't know how to and she doesn't make friends where there isn't a mutual interest in friendship. Magpie lets go of situations easily when they turn difficult; in short, she's a bit of a quitter.

History: Magpie's family were neither pegasi, both being earth ponies with distant pegasus relatives. They worked as cooks in a cheap diner in Fillydelphia, and as a result the food around the house tended to be of the cheap and easy variety. Magpie grew up in an environment where almost nopony with her stressed the importance of healthy diet and exercise. Thus, she grew up more heavy than most of her average classmates.

Magpie was an easy going filly, who made friends easily but was almost a doormat in that she would do almost anything asked of her without questioning why. Of course she was a good student, but she had a reputation for being easily walked over in school. Also, while she was easy going, she was also pretty bland. She had few interests, she just listened a lot and rarely spoke up in conversations. Magpie herself realized early on that she preferred hearing others to hearing herself.

Since Magpie was a pegasus, her parents felt it would be a good idea for her to go off and live with pegasus relatives for a year or two. So she was sent to an uncle in Cloudsdale, a proud old stallion who worked as a flight camp instructor.

He was tough on Magpie, always overwhelming her easy personality and pushing her past her rather low limits. Magpie looked up to him for his ability to inspire her to bettering herself. It was with the help of her uncle that she realized that she wanted to inspire others as others had inspired her.

Ultimately, she realized what she wanted to do when her uncle, as part of his fitness campaign, enrolled Magpie into a cheer squad that worked in sporting events in Cloudsdale. Magpie loved the job, and though she had virtually no skill, she was enthusiastic even when the squad tired her out every day. She earned her cutie mark, on a day when she managed to outscream the rest of her squad when the home team made a truly epic goal.

Magpie is still young, still rough around the edges. But she's springing for a bright future.
