Character Summary:

Jambalaya is the daughter of travelling, wandering ponies Beignet and Sassafrass, and is the younger twin of explorer pony, Gumbo. The filly was born and raised "on the road" as it were, following her parents as they traveled from town to town doing odd jobs, singing campfire songs and busking for money.

The travelling life was fun for young Jambalaya, but as she grew older, she became a little more jaded towards it. She lost friends as soon as she made them and mostly kept in contact with friends through letters. After her brother, Gumbo, got his cutie mark, Jambalaya was given her own cart and told to "follow her heart". She broke off from her parent's group as a filly has has been traveling from town to town ever since to find her one special talent.

Jambalaya doesn't have very much formal education - being enrolled in schools for a few months at a time whenever her parents temporarily settled down in a town. As a result, her manner of speaking can come across as quite odd. She does try to study when she can, but has a severe lack of knowledge that isn't easily picked up "on the road". Her mental, social and emotional maturity is also somewhat stunted.

As an older pony, Jambalaya has become quite conservative and hates to be embarrassed. She is somewhat ashamed of her lack of cutie mark and tends to hide it with long skirts, which she pretty much wears all the time. When travelling, she will wear her skirt and dress despite being hitched to a cart as well. Jambalaya dislikes travelling, but continues to do so out of a misguided belief that she must follow her family trends, despite disliking them.

Prior to arriving in Ponyville, Jambalaya was acting as hired help in the Apple Family Farm in Appleloosa.

NOTE: Jambalaya has yet to be exposed to her special talent, which is set. Please PM me if it is required to declare the talent.

You say she likes to wear skirts and pants...while I think that skirts are okay, I don't think ponies wear pants...Please correct me if somepony has in the show, however. We just like to be consistent.

I'll also need a confirmation comment from Inkwell about your current relationship.

The names of the parent ponies and twin as well as your character are awesome and so creative!

There's also a little typo in the last sentence of the second paragraph in the Character Summary.

All in all, an interesting and seemingly well thought out character!

Inkwell and Jamba met each other when they were young, before she got jaded about her life. She made the effort to reach out to the shy young foal and they managed to bond a bit before she moved away from Trottingham. Now, of course, both ponies have changed quite a bit, but they still like each other for the most part.
