Trombone2525
Equestria has changed. Magic has lost its power over the land. Unicorns can still use magic, but for some reason, nature has began to run on its own. The princess, in her everlasting wisdom, set up a government, though this government is really just a symbol. Ponies go on with their everyday lives, some barely even aware there was a change. Until, that is, the technology began growing. Equestria is now a model of high tech civilization. Large cities stand where fields once were. Air cars and gravrails provide transport were carts and trains once did. Bots take care of most food production, cranking out soysynth, which can be molded into a synthetic version of any food imaginable. Bots also take care of most other jobs, and terminals, high tech computers with voice recognition and primarily verbal interactivity, take care of running the bots. If you weren't a scientist, an engineer, or a politician, you live off the Dole, a government service that takes advantage of the abundance and provides basic needs for everypony. Y-energy, a cheap, clean, portable energy source, is used to power everything, from homes to entire cities. Y-energy cones have become commonplace. Even Mother Nature has been made obsolete, with the development of genemods. These in utero modifications are purchased by hopeful parents, and can change anything from how the foal looks to it's physical and magical abilities, even personality factors and intelligence. And this is where you stand. You are in the lobby of a genemod clinic, about to go in for a consultation on what genemods you may wish to purchase for your foal.A nurse comes out and brings you into the doctors office, where you and your spouse sit on two chairs opposite the doctor."So, what can I do for you two?"
