Coat/Mane/Tail/Style: Klonoa is feline, meaning that essentially all of his body is covered in hair, with most of his fur being black, save for a few choice places, such as his exceedingly long, floppy ears which flare and puff outwards towards the ends, turning white around halfway down their length, and the short, white tufty tail at his lower back. He sports a set of black bangs at the top of his head, as part of a somewhat scruffy, short hairstyle that is normally hidden underneath a large, blue cap - worn sideways - sporting a pecular, rounded yellow emblem eating a yellow dot. His muzzle is white, and sports a fuzzy, fluffy appearance around the cheek areas, whilst centered on his muzzle's features is a small, triangular, peach-coloured nose. His mouth sports a set of large fangs, and above his muzzle is where his large, round and expressive eyes, with feline pupils, sit.

Klonoa's attire varies from time to time, dependant on circumstance and activities, though his most usual outfit is that of a blue shirt, adorned with an especially large zipper pin at the neck, accompanied by a pair of shorts of a darker shade of blue that sport a pair of gold buttons on light blue straps around the waist. He normally wears a pair of yellow gloves, and red sneakers with white soles and lines atop them. At other times he wears a pair of red shorts with a belt buckling them on firmly, and a small red jacket, sporting a gilded neckline. When wearing this getup, he wears gold-yellow gloves with white palms and white-brown mountain shoes. Regardless of what he's wearing, however, Klonoa is never seen without his trademark Wind Ring, a strange, oversized golden ring with a large, green jewel mounted on it.

Physique: Given his young age, Klonoa is fairly short-statured, but not diminutive, perhaps standing a little below the average height of most young adults if one were to compare statures of him and Equestrian natives. Though his physique is slim and his arms and legs are thin, he is still rather athletic, able to participate in a variety of sports and activities.

Origin/Residence: Klonoa comes from a village called Breezegale, in a world simply known as Phantomile. The village is built near the ruins of an ancient Wind Kingdom that had once stood but has long since been gone. As the name of the kingdom, and the village itself, implies, the villagers harness the power of the wind, shaping and processing stone using purely concentrated air, and using windmills to power things there, and at the center of the village lies a gigantic windmill. The village itself is fairly rustic and a little medieval European to a certain degree. Klonoa lives here with his Grandpa, and it is generally assumed that this is where he returns to whenever his adventures are over.

Occupation: Dream Traveller - The exact nature of Klonoa's status as 'the Dream Traveller' is hard to specify. All that is known is that he involuntarily visits other worlds wherever the state of dreams is in danger. However, this state of dreams can simply refer to the state of that world overall, as Klonoa's presence in these worlds is described as being 'like a strange dream'. In essence, the worlds that Klonoa visits are as dreams seen in a vision to him, and to the people of those worlds, Klonoa himself is as though a dream come to life, strange and foreign, and not entirely real somehow, but still tangible.

Cutie Mark: None! He’s a cat, err, cabbit, uh, thing, after all.

History: Little is known of Klonoa’s true life in his own world of Phantomile, save that he lives with his Grandpa in the town of Breezegale. His nature as the Dream Traveller is also a mystery, alongside of the Wind Ring that accompanies him on every journey. To Klonoa himself, these adventures are a mystery and a puzzle that he does not comprehend, coming to him as visions or dreams that at times he remembers, and at others does not when he awakens again.

"It’s strange… Sometimes I can’t remember my dreams, though I’m sure I saw them. Where do these dreams go? But I remember this one dream, as clearly as if it were reflected in a mirror…"

"There’s a forgotten dream. Was it a dream I can’t remember? Or a dream I won’t remember? Have I forgotten the dream? Or has the dream forgotten me? But surely there was a dream…"

Of his adventures as the Dream Traveller, there is a wealth to tell, of friendships forged and enemies vanquished. Of the ‘dreams’ which Klonoa remembers strongest is the memory of travelling to a Phantomile not unlike his own, where there was even a Breezegale and a Grandpa there for him as well, and a friend that he found in a strange creature named Huepow, the prince of that world’s Moon Kingdom, who had called Klonoa there to protect it, though had in turn created fake memories for Klonoa of their friendship, and of him belonging to this Phantomile, rather than the one which he had originated from.

Together the two had been the closest of friends, until that world came under threat from the Dark King, Ghadius, who sought to throw the dreaming world of Phantomile into eternal darkness and nightmare in retaliation for the hatred and scorn which the people of Phantomile showed him, simply because of his dominion over nightmares, by using the power of the entity Nahatomb, which was born of evil and negativity. Klonoa, with Huepow’s aid, defeated both, but to great tragedy, as with the world’s balance restored, there would no longer be a place for the Dream Traveller to exist in this Phantomile. Despite the two friends desperately trying to hold onto one another, Klonoa was taken back to his own world against his will.

This adventure seems to have left a lasting impression on Klonoa, no doubt owing to the fact that he himself confesses that the dream of him and Huepow was one that he remembers with perfect clarity, as in his later adventures, though he remains unaware of his nature as a traveller between worlds at first, he no longer feels as upset over having to depart once his journey ends. Another of his ‘visions’ took him to the world of Lunatea, where he was tasked with fulfilling a prophecy to save that world from a mysterious enemy by ringing the four bells of that world’s kingdoms of Tranquillity, Joy, Discord and Indecision. On this journey, he made new friends, and rivals, though as they journeyed on it seemed clear that there was more to the prophecy than first was known, revealing a fifth kingdom , with its own bell – the Kingdom of Sorrow, which seemed to be forcing its way into Lunatea.

However, as Klonoa and his friends would discover, the King of Sorrow, the ruler of that kingdom, had in fact called Klonoa there himself, revealing that the fifth bell, and the Kingdom of Sorrow, had always been a part of Lunatea’s world; its people choosing to shun it, simply because they would rather run away from sadness, than face it and endure. Driven by loneliness and grief, the King of Sorrow sought to destroy the world of Lunatea by drowning it in sorrow, rather than accept being rejected by its people. Armed with the emotions of Tranquillity, Joy, Discord and Indecision, Klonoa brought the King of Sorrow to his senses by reminding him that the world was made of all these things, Sorrow included, and promised him that the world would no longer forget or run away from sadness, as it had before. The world of Lunatea saved, the Dream Traveller was once more forced to leave it, and the friends he had made behind. Though he was sad to say goodbye, the encounter with the King of Sorrow had since taught him that it was alright to cry, and to be sad, and so he parted ways with his friends with a smile instead, hopeful that they might one day meet again.

And his hopes would come true, as through more dreams and visions, Klonoa would often be reunited with his friends, even among them being Huepow, and journeyed on many more adventures, defeating more evils, and saving more worlds, and each time returning to his own Phantomile once the balance had been restored… the Dream Traveller continuing his journeys and adventures, so long as he had dreams to recall.

Character Summary: As a person, Klonoa is a kind and gentle, fairly optimistic individual, who displays a strong will. While he can be professed as having a number of qualities such as being rather accepting of people, despite their faults, he can at times be a little flakey, and at other times just a little bit laid back and neutral, making him seem careless, particularly as he has a tendency to be quite absent-minded and leaning on the unclever side as well. He can also be somewhat childish, at least in regards to his tastes in food, hating certain vegetables like tomatoes and carrots, while favouring hamburgers. He makes up for these shortcomings with his kindness and bravery, however, as he is shown to be a steadfast protector of his friends and will go out of his way to help others in need. Despite remaining relaxed and full of confidence when faced with the likes of ghosts and monsters that would make others quake in their boots, though, Klonoa is not without his own fears and worries. Heights, for example, cause him distress, and he becomes quite uneasy in the presence of water, on account of his inability to swim.

Despite these limitations, however, Klonoa does not back down from a challenge, especially in the face of evil-doers, and neither is he without his own talents to pick up the slack where he cannot perform, such as displaying an experienced and proficient skill at surfing and riding on a hover board, and playing sports. He is able to temporarily cross jumping distances he’d normally not be able to make, or to gain a little more height to his jump, by flapping his long ears and hovering for a few brief seconds. As well as this, his trademark Wind Ring has the ability to envelop or fill creatures and objects with some magical energy that makes them float, allowing Klonoa to lift them over his head effortlessly. Being still young, Klonoa doesn’t seem to have any plans for his future, outside of simply having fun with his friends and enjoying life, or going on adventures. Above all else he values the friends that he makes, and clearly places importance on their happiness, as well as the happiness of others. Of the things he likes, fun and friends seem to be the main thing, and of what he dislikes, the cruelty of others and those who would selfishly put others beneath them for their own benefit.

Wonderful! I give it my stamp of approval, considering I have some familiarity with the franchise myself. I can't wait to see him accepted!
