Name: Aselia

RP type: Canterlot Chronicles (CC)

Gender: Female

Age: Young Mare

Species: Unicorn

Eye colour: Forest Green

Character colour: Red

Occupation: Alchemist for the Rosalia Brigade

The Rosalia Brigade is a brigade created under the purpose of stamping out the lawless all over Equestria. Created by Balador, they hope to bring a lawful justice into the world by finding ponies and other creatures who have broken the law and sending them to dungeons. They could be considered a vigilante group as some guilds are. This guild was built specifically for finding thieves and are currently on the hunt for a specific group of ruffians. Aselia's job on the team is to supply her allies with potions, charms, hexes, concoctions, and the like so her friends can use them.

Mane/Tail/Other: Colored ash grey, her mane is normally of short-medium length. She commonly has a red hair band on. Her tail very long and both are kept relatively groomed.

Physique: About average height and weight, normally wearing a red robe covered with pockets and other tools.

Residence: Stalliongrad

Cutie Mark: A bottle filled with a strange purple liquid.

Unique Traits: Aselia has a large knowledge of herbs and plant-life.

In combat Aselia normally throws potions to help her allies, however she can also use a rod/staff, and her trusty book, to keep enemies at bay. As stated above, Aselia would prefer diplomatic action and talking rather than war. While her potions are top of the line, her combat by itself isn't very good. Aselia's rod (known as the stirring stick to her.) is thick and would probably not break so easily. However it's rather small and isn't exactly the best thing to use for hoof-to-hoof combat. Her book, the arte of magic, potions, and charms can be used for multiple purposes. While also holding recipes for potions and enchantments, it also has a few pages of (Beginner) magic, and a few hexes. Aselia is more likely to use her potions more than magic, due to her not being very good at combative magic.

History: Aselia grew up in Stalliongrad. Her life was fairly normal, she had friends, she had good parents, and she had a great life set out for her. Her two best friends, Melody and Thunder Swift, were always there for her, getting into trouble as kids often would, camping out under stars together, the trio made a great group. Aselia wanted no more and no less for her life, or so she thought. During a field trip in school, the group that they were in was sent to the airship docks, to ride on one of Stalliongrad's famous airships. Under that azure blue sky, the sun shined brightly and it was there with her closest friends by her side, Aselia felt so free, and so alive.

Aselia didn't know what she wanted to be when she grew up, as a blank flank she had so many possibilities that her head was spinning. It wasn't until her brother, Yuri, had gotten sick that she learned what she wanted to do. Yuri had caught a dreadful cold, and one day her parents had left to go buy more medicine. Yuri began to cough up a storm, and Aselia went to go see if she could find anymore medicine. She couldn't but if she couldn't find any medicine, she'll just make some! She found a few vials, a book detailing how to make the brew, and the ingredients the book called for. She pulled, mixed, stired, and boiled the liquid until it was finished. She gave it to Yuri, who reported feeling much better afterwards. Both Aselia's face and Flank shined as she had just gained her Cutie Mark, a purple potion, symbolizing her love for potion making.

As Aselia grew older, she had to part ways with her friends, she had matured and it was time for her to think about college. Aselia found a school in Las Pegasus that accepted her and she went there. She made good friends, wrote decent college papers, and even got a job as an assistant to a scientist. Yet...why was it she felt so empty? It didn't make any sense to her, she had what seemed like everything she could have wanted. Then she got a letter from Stalliongrad, it was from her mother, just checking up on her but there was photo on the inside. The photo was from that Field Trip from what seemed like so many years ago. Her, Melody, Thunder, and the rest of her class was standing on the airship they were on. Aselia's face lit up at the sight of the photo and it was there she figured out what was missing. She wanted to work near that beauteous sky.

Aselia had packed up her home, and made a B-line back to Stalliongrad. She was filled to the brim with hope and excitement that she couldn't contain herself. She went to Stalliongrad and after some talking and visiting with her parents, Aselia went to look for an opening for an alchemist however she couldn't find anypony who would take her. She stayed at her parents house that night, and the next morning there was a vistor. A griffin by the name of Balador who had heard of her and asked to see her skills. Aselia had made a light-weight potion and Balador drank it. After testing it's effects, and a rather odd interview (At least that's what Aselia would have called it) Balador offered her a spot in the Rosalia Brigade. After thinking it over, Aselia came to the conclusion that she would be helping the greater good and accepted the position.

Character Summery:

Aselia views herself as very intelligent mare, and as such will try to use her brain, potions, and other tools at her disposal to overcome obstacles placed ahead of her. Aselia will break the law though would prefer other methods to going about business. She views battles in the same sense, she has no problem with combat but would prefer diplomatic ways. She hates people who show-off a lot and does not care for those who are seen by her as a 'pride monster'.

Aselia is very trusting of her potions and spells, more so than most ponies, and as such will not trust new ponies very often. She isn't the strongest mare in the world nor is she the toughest, but she is smart and quick as whip. Aselia normally will show her curious, angry, and calm sides, instead of other emotions. If someone calls her a witch or anything of the like that is negative, that pony will see the full fury of her anger.

From a social stand-point, Aselia used to be very outgoing, now-a-days though she seems to be interested in research, books, and adventure more than the company of others. She loves to read and make potions, and loves the sound of glasses clanking together under the work of science. If one happens to befriend Aselia though, she will defend you to the end. Despite this social awkwardness she has, Aselia cares deeply for the ponies who have befriended her. She is more than willing to help them through their trials and their tribulations, though maybe after she finishes this last brew.

Thank you for your patience! All the fundamental aspects of your character checks out, but I have a couple minor comments:

  • Can you explain what the Rosalia Brigade is and its purpose? You only need a brief explanation, just enough so we know better what your OC actually does for a living.
  • That last paragraph about your OC's combat abilities should go under the Unique Traits field instead of the Summary, while leaving personality details in the Summary section.

All in all, not too shabby so far. :)

Thank you for the additions, but now another issue is raised. It's okay to have a rogue band of mare-do-wells running around Equestria in CC, but it's not your call to determine how legitimate the Brigade is. That decision alone rests with your fellow RPers. Remove anything that suggests governments approve of the Brigade, and we can be on our way again. ^_^

NOTE: we notice that you have two Ready apps. None of them will be approved unless you mark one of them as WiP first. We apologize that we haven't made this rule clear for the CC section.
