Solar rays arranged around a golden halo. Symbolizes Solace's inner drive to see peace and prosperity continue to embrace Equestria under Celestia's rule, while the slightly jagged design of the rays represent an underlying will to defend those ideals if necessary.

Unique Traits:Can handle items forged of hard light and knows the methods to their creation. Due to her larger stature her wings produce an impressive amount of thrust, and she uses these self-generated gusts to creative advantages.

History: Solace was born in the icy grip of winter to Canterlot parents. The youngest of a very affluent and posh family, the pegasus foal never seemed to misbehave or cry for attention, as though she already knew what would be expected of her. Mostly raised by nannies, she was the easiest caretaking job many of them had ever had.

As a filly, Solace had already become a nigh-perfect little lady. She never spoke out of turn, was ever respectful, but she hardly stood out from her brothers and sisters. This didn't particularly bother her, and though she found little interest in the intricacies of noble life she never once thought of doing anything differently. Her love for her family was deep and loyal.

The white pegasus attended a private school, where she was quickly identified as rather aloof and a tad strange. Solace's thoughts never seemed to be in the here and now, and she often stared into space as though watching things none could see. Her upbringing warranted at least politeness, and she still made a few friends from time to time.

The time came when one of Solace's elder brothers was go join the royal guard, somewhat of a family tradition. However, much to everypony's dismay, when the time came to swear his oath to crown and pony the brother declined. To all gathered, he shouted with a manic gleam in his eye that he only served the Nightmare, and Equestria would soon be held accountable for its sins. Fearful of his insanity, his family sadly locked him away.

The incident marred Solace's calm outlook on life, and more and more she began to study the darkness that had threatened her home throughout history. Her parents repeatedly asked her to stop, fearing that she would follow in her brother's hoofsteps. In actuality, she was working to prevent just that. Perhaps even unknown to herself, she was studying on how to free a loved one.

Though she didnt like it, her mother would often take Solace to visit her brother in incarceration. Finally, the pegasus one day worked up the courage to tell her sibling all she had learned about how to free himself from the grip of darkness. After hearing her entire diatribe, he'd laughed cruelly in the filly's face. The Nightmare hadn't forced him to do anything! He'd willingly gone into that embrace.

Her brother's laughter echoing behind her, Solace had stormed out. All her hopes were dashed, but even at that young age she knew she would do all in her power to see no pony else fall to the tempting abyss. No pony had actually seen any hint of what had brought about Nightmare Moon, but that wouldnt stop fanatics. Thus, neither would the pegasus lie idle. Knowing that Celestia had stood for Equestria against the Nightmare, Solace pledged herself to crown and country then and there. As if in response, her sunny cutie mark appeared to a mixture of wonder, surprise, and grim satisfaction with a touch of acceptance.

As soon as she was old enough, Solace bid her family farewell and left the familiar roads of Canterlot. She wasnt seen for quite some time, though she stayed busy in her travels. When she reappeared, it was as the leader of the Sunsworn, a faction dedicated heart and mind to Equestrian well-being. A diadem of blazing light upon her brow and a blade forged of the morning sun at her side, gone was the quiet noblepony of fillyhood. In her place had arrived a protector, steadfast and proud.

Character Summary: Self-sworn to uphold Celestia's ideals and to safeguard the future of Equestria, Solace carries the weight of the world upon her shoulders. Her demeanor is soft-spoken, not by fear or shyness, but by a concrete confidence that she will be heard. The pegasus's attitude can be described as kind, yet distant and brooding. She is unafraid of making her intentions known, as she will openly state what she believes needs to be done for the good of Equestria.

Zealotry is a constant concern for Solace, though she'll rarely discuss the topic. While she views her duty as engaging in the tasks that her princess needn't worry herself with (the nitty gritty of running a harmonious kingdom), she constantly reminds herself that she most definitely is not the one running the country, and she cannot pretend to know Celestia's inner thoughts. She can only do her best to further what she perceives as the alicorn's goals. That being said, anyone who would stand against the paradise of a shining, prosperous Equestria will find themselves at odds with the imposing pegasus.

On nearly any given day, Solace will surround herself with other Sunsworn: like-minded ponies driven to see Celestia's dream upheld. Her removed bearing doesn't keep her from interacting in a familiar manner with those whom she often associates, and she's actually rather tolerant of most personality types. She has to be, considering her team...

Somewhat contrary to what one might expect of her day to day activites, Solace considers nothing beneath her. She only delegates tasks out of necessity, but does not shun something as simple as taking baskets of food to the needy or repairing a broken toy for a foal. The reasoning again comes to her status as a Sunsworn: she'll do everything she can to uphold the status quo set forth.

For more personal effects, one of the pegasus's favorite pastimes is sequestring herself away and forging items of hard light. The rhythmic pounding, the glow of the furnace, the fickle nature of the materials... it's all a challenge with a very tangible reward. Solace also enjoys theatre productions, and will attend if she happens to have the time and means to do so. She very much considers herself a lady, and recognizes that while protecting Equestria it's also important to maintain a sense of self, lest she become something contrary to the very vision toward which she strives.

Unfortunately, such devotion comes as the cost of her trust for Celestia's sister, Luna. Solace knows well the terror and despair that Nightmare Moon wreaked across Equestria in her time, and though she does not openly oppose the night princess's return to status, she is respectful of the subject and nothing more. If persistently questioned about the topic, she'll admit that though she trusts Celestia's decisions in matters, she sometimes wonders if her leader's judgment is impaired when it comes to Luna. Not that giving a loved one a second chance is by any means distasteful, but the Sunsworn does not agree with the theory that the younger alicorn's corruption came from an outside source. She believes Nightmare Moon was born of an inner rage given freedom, and thus she regards the monster's potential return as one of the greatest threats to her duties.
