"Nope," Cherry responded as she fell back into her awkward walking rhythm "Puke's still just as ick here as it is back home."

It wasn't difficult to find the track she'd pushed through the underbrush, every step brought the sound of babbling water closer. Perhaps it was just the ruminant of the previous night's frivolity but her wings were proving extraordinary uncooperative. After the instinctual hiding reaction they had returned to their previous positions, flopped inelegantly by her flanks. With concerted effort she could just about keep them from dragging along the ground behind her. As the trio pushed their way through the thick foliage and emerged onto the river bank, the Pegasus couldn't shake the feeling that even her body didn't know what to do with the additional limbs.

"There's probably some larger clearings further downstream, at least I hope so. Might be a good place to stop if there is... hay, Scotchie? Are you having any problems with your wings?"

Chris gagged a little at the mention of puke. The familiar metallic taste filled his mouth as he swallowed in hopes of making the sensation go away. His nose twitched along with his ears, he smelled and heard the stream!

“WATER!!†Chris exclaimed with a little more glee than he seemed possible to muster at that time.

He picked up is walking cadence into a slow canter. His legs start to get in their own way. 'Damn this is hard.' He thought. He sped up a little more, a trot. 'ooOOoooOOoo Now this is much easier!' He pondered why moving more rapidly would be easier on four legs than moving more slowly. These thoughts quickly dispersed when he broke the underbrush and found himself at the edge of a crystal clear, moderately quickly moving, river.

Chris pranced about a little before plunging headlong into the crisp cool water. He splashed about like a silly foal and dipped his muzzle into the water. He took large gulps of it before stopping to catch his breath and look at his companians.

“Hay come on in!! The water is fine!†He shouted as he paddled about the river.

The banks were shallow and the river was not all that deep. It was perfect for learning how to swim with four legs. Occasionally he would kick himself some how as he paddled but he quickly got the hang of it.

“Now somepony said we needed willow bark? Or some other types of plants? Do you two think that Equestria has the same plants as Earth does? Would they look the same, or have the same properties? I mean this is all made up after all.†He asked the two mares that were traveling with him.

Sophie looked down at the shallow waters of the stream uncertainly. By the look of her over enthusiastic friend, the water was barely thigh deep, its slowly undulating surface so brilliantly pure that it reflected every ounce of sunlight seeping through the canopy above.

With some hesitation, the mare carefully approached the reed covered bank, shaking the traffic cone from her head before dipping a hoof into the glass like surface. As she touched the pebbly riverbed, a shiver ran through her whole body as the soothing waters peeled away the encrusted dirt from her long trek and massaged the nutmeg fur around her ankle. Fears somewhat dispelled, Sophie ventured out a little further, angling herself upstream and sinking to her knees with a contented sigh.

The stream idly flowed around the Pegasus, spreading through every feather and caressing muscles who’s pained cries she had tried to ignore for so long. True it was cold, but not shockingly so, just enough to steal away the heat from her sore joints and sooth her matted hide. Dipping her nose below the water line, she took a few grateful gulps before submerging her face completely, allowing the stream to practically envelop her weary form.

This, right here, was the good life.

Shaking out her mane, Sophie looked around to her two friends with a wide honest smile.

“This? This right here? This is paradise.†She pronounced, taking the opportunity to gulp down more of the fresh spring water, regardless of what her Guide coach had taught her about ‘dead sheep up stream’. Something hanging across the other bank caught her eye, causing the filly to tilt her head in confusion.

“Do you think we’re far from Ponyville?†questioned the Pegasus “Only I'm begining to think this is the Everfree forest."

Gingerly the mare got to her hooves and walked a few feet up streem untill she could see clearly around the next meandering bend in the river.

He was flying with Robi and enjoyed everything they saw, nodding to what Robi said.

Flying isn't really hard, You were right. Just concentrate and don't panic. And don't look down when You have acrophobia He smiled a little and looked around again. Then he discovered one thing - He had acrophobia!

Oh no no no no, we are so high up! He looked down and started to panic, even the air became heavy. He hit Robikku in the back and they started to fall down. They crashed to the ground close to CherryRie's group, the ground hit was very loud so they should hear it.

Aimee sighed and decided to join Chris and Sophie in the water. She hated the feeling of cold water when it crept up her stomach, but at least it would take her mind off her hangover for a moment. She tentatively placed a hoof in the clear running stream, and then another, until she was nearly all the way in. And then she slipped on a rock and tumbled face first into the stream.

"So much for easing in", she whined inwardly, water swirling around in her ears, teeth chattering. She looked up at her companions, bedraggled mane plastered against her muzzle and neck. "We need something for this headache. But I think you're right Sophie. I think this might be the Everfree Forest"

The yellow flutterpony managed to detangle her legs and right herself again. Looking towards the bank, she saw some familiar plants. They LOOKED like clover. They SMELLED like clover. And ponies certainly ate clover. So of course she took a big ol' horsey mouthful, mumbling to her companions "Guys, food! Clover tastes better when you're a pony."

“Clover? Really?†Sophie puzzled, turning away from the patch of poison joke that was growing a few dozen meters up stream. Clover wasn’t the most exciting of salads but at least it was better than an empty stomach. Wading back across the lazy river, the paint Pegasus leaned past Aimee and took a careful bite out of the leafy patch. She was cautious not to pull out any roots that might have soil still attached, but needn’t have worried as she found her new mouth well equipped to slice off the soft foliage stalks. Chewing turned out to be a problem though and it took her a moment to get the hang of the exaggerated circular motion she’d seen equines using at her aunt’s stables. However, Scotchie had been right, they were significantly more interesting to the taste buds then they had been before their abrupt change. That and her curling stomach was thankful for the sustenance.

“Not bad-†she admitted, smiling broadly before a sickening crash interrupted their brief breakfast.

Glancing fearfully towards the source of the racket, Sophie cocked an eyebrow at the stream of steadily falling Pegasus feathers.

“Did... anyone else see that?â€Â

a rather ruffled looking Blue pegasus would crawl out of the nearby foliage...a little bruised but generally okay - followed fairly shortly after by another beat-up looking pegasus looking rather sorry for himself. The blue one groans, shaking it's head a moment, trying to clear his head but generally finding it equally painful.

" As IF I didn't already have a bad enough headache...Geez, we definitely need to practice emergency landings better! "

It was just at that moment that Robikku notices the small group of ponies staring in there direction...he pauses, clears his throat and stumbles forward a little, trying to shake off the severe case of OWTHATHURTS.

" So, uh....hey, how are you ponies? " He says with a small wavering grin. " Not sure who ya'all are...but I'm pretty new to, uh, these parts and was wondering if me and my friend here could get some directions. I'm Rob, that's Mike - I know they probably sound like odd names to ponies like yourselves, buuut...well, we're not from around here exactly! "

He had the unnerving feeling he...knew...who these ponies were, but the feeling was dismissed quickly.

After all, they couldn't be anyone he knew, could they? it was a crazy thought, clearly.

Of course, he had no idea just how right he actually was!
