featherquill
Daring Do being real makes perfect sense to me.The pseudonym "A.K. Yearling" is a clear play on J.K. Rowling, who is known for her fantastic adventure stories with incredibly complex worldbuilding. In fact, it's so complex that there are still people who theorize that Rowling is secretly a witch writing about the very real Harry Potter. The reason for this theory is that it's such a big secret that people will hear about it, so it's better to introduce it first as fiction--no one will believe it if they hear about it as reality later. So why wouldn't the author's fictional counterpart follow this same theory? elsporko
Because that theory is clearly believed solely by crazy people

It's a theory you'll probably come across once or twice if you're in the Harry Potter fandom, so it is known if not believed.
