Physique: Physically fit and average height for a crystal pony.

Cutie Mark: A round shield with an image of the moon covering a portion of it. When Moonshield was a colt, he was always fascinated with the night sky. Something about it took his breath away, and he always wanted to know more. One evening he spent more time than normal exploring the outskirts of the Empire and after several wrong turns and an unintentional nap, Moonshield found himself lost. While desperately trying to find his way home in the dark, he stumbled upon an ancient crystal pony shield, the reflection of the moonlight reflected from it, revealing an image of a star formation. Moonshield used the shield as a map by following the same star formation in the sky as the one on the shield. He finally made it home safe and sound, thanks to his special talent in astronomy, earning him his cutie mark.

History: Like most crystal ponies, Moonshield was born in the glorious Crystal Empire. He lived with his parents, his mother Nightsky and his father Cometfall, through foalhood and lived a fairly normal life attending school with other fillies and colts his age. After earning his cutie mark, he poured himself into studying the stars and his infatuation with the night sky became the largest staple of his life. When he was old enough, he began his work for the Crystal Empire Observatory, his special talent and lifelong dream finally fulfilled. Unfortunately, his work was cut short as the evil King Sombra took over the Crystal Empire and enslaved the crystal ponies. Moonshield was among the many innocent civilians who were oppressed by Sombra’s enslavement. To make matters worse, Sombra removed the Crystal Heart, destroying the spirit and energy of the crystal ponies. Celestia and Luna banished Sombra to the Frozen North, but the Empire was cursed to disappear for a thousand years. After the long millennium had ended, and Sombra was defeated once and for all, Moonshield was able to live his life in peace once again, now pledging his undying loyalty to the newly crowned Crystal Princess Mi Amore Cadenza. Since then he has continued his work at the Crystal Empire Observatory, continuing to perfect his craft and observe the beautiful night sky. While the work he has always done in the Empire has been wonderful, he still has further ambitions to pursue. His eyes are set on one day relocating to Canterlot, in the hopes of being able to study astronomy on a higher level and work at the Canterlot Observatory, one of the greatest in Equestria. Moonshield will not rest until his goals and ambitions are reached, relying on the stars to guide him through his journey of watching and studying Luna’s beautiful night.

Character Summary: Moonshield is generally a friendly pony, always taking a moment to greet those he encounters and never opposed to making new friends. However, he takes his work seriously, sometimes to a fault as he has been known to overwork himself and cause unnecessary stress to himself. His special talent is astronomy, particularly his ability to recognize and remember various star formations and identifying celestial bodies. In his down time, he enjoys reading, watching various sports, and traveling to new places in Equestria. When around others, Moonshield tends to be fairly pleasant to spend time with and is a good friend, and can easily make friends as well. However, he often encounters his own personal flaws. Moonshield can sometimes work himself too hard, spending long hours working, resulting in sleep loss and being isolated from his friends and acquaintances. He can also be easily irritated, jumping to irrational conclusions over small and trivial things. While these flaws are negative personality traits, he is generally likeable and friendly.

Pardon the ugly, badly drawn cutie mark, as well as not actually looking like a crystal pony.

Howdy partner! I'd just like to say that you ought to describe the shield on the cutie mark with the word "round" instead of "Viking". After all, the historical Vikings themselves used more than one type of shield. :P

Other than that, I'd say that you have a solid foundation with this app. ^_^
