Rainbow stretched forward, willing herself to go even faster.

"A little more...little more...almost..." She grit her teeth and drove herself through the air with powerful wing strokes. She pushed her front hooves out as far in front of her as she could. The ground raced towards her, closer and closer. She squinted her eyes as tears began to form from the intense speed. "Come on!"

A rainbow streak began to form behind her as she descended at incredible speed. Just before reaching the ground she changed the angle of her wings and shot upwards! Sonic rainboom! A cacophony of color radiated out as the sky blue pegasus spot upwards. She turned her head to glance at her work.

"Not bad!" She congratulated herself as she slowed her flight some and landed on a cloud. "Whoops! Almost forgot!" She had agreed to meet Skyzipper for a friendly hang out and it was almost time. She was never one for dressing up for stallions and figured her tangled mane and tail and slightly sweaty coat would have to do.

The mare flew towards the meeting place, a large apple tree near the edge of town where Skyzipper was supposed to meet her. Once she had arrived the pegasus flew some lazy loops while she waited for him. This should be fun!

Sky had woken up late, again. He was lying in bed sleeping wishing that the sun was not up yet. As he forced himself up his eyes opened and he yawned. Sky smiled as he flapped his wings and landed on all four hooves off his bed. Sky, out of the corner of his eye, saw his mirror. As he looked towards it he laughed at himself. His mane was messy, very messy. Sky grinned as he walked towards his bath room to fix it up. As he was fixing his mane he felt like somethign was slipping past him, like he was forgetting something. Sky shrugged it off before remembering that he was meeting with Rainbow Dash. He sighed, thinking he had tons of time but then he noticed his clock, he was going to be late. Sky quickly finished his mane and ran out the door of his cloud home. Sky jumped off the cloud structure and flapped his wings hard to keep him up. He flew towards where they were meeting. How could i have forgotten this?. Sky smiled when he saw her flying around the tree. Sky sighed as he noticed he was not late. He eased up on flapping his wings so he could lower himself to the ground

Rainbow spotted Skyzipper as he made his way towards the meeting spot. She landed on the ground near where he landed and smiled.

"Hi Skyzipper!" She flapped her wings a little and then tucked them up on her back. She crossed her front legs over each other and leaned towards him playfully. "So, what do you have planned for today? I could use some adventure!"

Sky smiled as rainbow greeted him, and then he heard that she could go for some adventure. Good thing that was sortof what he had planned.

"Hi Rainbow Dash, want to go flying somewhere?" Sky was shuffling his hooves a bit, he was slightly nervous though mainly okay. That was when he noticed Rainbow's messy mane and sweaty coat. He almost pointed it out though he guessed that Rainbow already knew about it, it was her mane and coat after all.

"Sure! I'd love to go flying somewhere! You have anywhere you want to show me... or should I take you somewhere?"

The mare smiled in a friendly way, wondering what their adventure would have in store.

Sky thought for a moment, he didnt really have anywhere in particular that he knew was a cool spot to fly at, he normally just flew over Ponyvile but this time it seemed like it would be better to do something more daring and dangerous then that.

"Where do you want to fly?". Sky had a smile on though it was a bit nervous.

Rainbow thought for a moment.

"Hmmmmmmm, let's go up to the falls. They should be looking really awesome right now!" She smiled at Skyzipper. He hadn't really planned things out too well for their date. Oh well, it would still be fun to hang out with him. Maybe they could teach each other their signature moves or something.

"You wanna race there?" She waited to see how he would respond. No use leaving a pony in the dust without them saying they actually wanted to race!

At the offer to race Rainbow Dash sky would grin. Sky bend down to stretch his hooves before cracking his wings. As he got ready to launch his whole personality flipped. His normal, shy happy self disappeared and in its place a serious attitude came on. Sky was always like this when he flew, everything would just fade out and he would be completely focused on Flying.

"Would love to" He would say to her in response to both her questions.

Well Sky certainly seemed to like her idea! Rainbow stretched her own wings and got ready to fly.

"Ok! Get ready...get set...go!" For once she didn't try to take off early. She wanted to give Sky a fair chance. It would be nice to see how she fared against his flying skills.

Soon Rainbow was streaking across the sky in normal Rainbow fashion, a trail of colors following her as she made her way to the falls. She wondered where Skyzipper was. Ahead of her, behind her...where could he be?

"Ok! Get ready...get set...go!"

The moment Dash said 'Go' Sky would flap his wings and started to fly quickly towards the falls. He was gaining speed slowly as he flew though when sky thought he might be ahead sky would look to the left, only to see a rainbow trail, and at the head of the trail was Rainbow dash. That was when sky would really push. Sky would bolt through the sky in a effort to catch up. He could see that he was managing to catch up though he knew that if Rainbow wanted to she might be able to leave him in the dust, but that was the question, how fast could she really fly?
