[Canterlot] The Night Watch (ENDED)

((Well, looks like we're wrapped up here. This shall be the last post.))

Radiant's comments warranted no response. Was she not worth one in the sergeant's eyes? It wouldn't surprise her. The pegasus wasn't really sure what to make of Bonfire. He seemed stiff, disagreeable, yet competent. In other words, he was just like her father. He was perfect for the guard, but Radiant couldn't say she found him endearing. But it was no matter, she didn't have to particularly like everyone she worked with.

That night had been her first eventful one on the night watch. If all she had to deal with was self-righteous pegasi and mad unicorns, she figured this job wouldn't be too hard. She'd keep at it. She'd work hard. Someday soon she was positive she'd be moved up to the princesses' personal guard detailed. She'd stand firm and proud and prove that detestable Malediction wrong in her mad conspiracies.

For now, however, Radiant had several hours more of night watch duty. She took off into the skies. It felt good to fly. Since there was nothing she could get away with punching nearby, it was the most accessible means to let out her pent up stress. She hadn't been allowed to do too much. Bonfire and the others had apprehended the criminals, she was denied her chance to show that unicorn she was wrong, and generally she wasn't left with much besides frustration. Still, this night would stay with her a while. Yet even so, tomorrow would be another day-- and tomorrow night would be another shift on the night watch.

END.
