Behind hostile lines RP thread FULL

Archon rolled his eyes as he listened to Firestorm. "I'm a private, not an invalid. I can at least get off the chopper without breaking my neck." Locking his sniper rifle onto a small clip on his utility belt, he followed the others off the helicopter and landed smoothly on the ground.

Good thing I'm wearing gloves. He thought as he glanced at his palms. Rope burn isn't fun. He quickly unclipped the rifle from his belt and dropped to the ground, looking for targets.

Blackwing would take three steps before the chopper would fly off. He looked around, they were in the middle of a forest. He would look around a bit more before seeing a settlement nearby. Blackwing would look back at the group and say "Follow" Before walking towards the town

((Firestorm didn't drop yet lol))

Firestorm grabbed his LMG and grabbed the rope with his other hand and used his boots as break as he slowly slid down the rope and landed on the ground. Firestorm raised his MG3 and scanned the surroundings. He heard Blackwing but was going to guard their six so he waited for the other to form up before he got behind.

Crusher saw no hostiles just trees and forrest.

“what are we doing here!” Crusher thought to himself as he scanned for targets.

He quickly saw that Fire was the last to get off the helio and when he saw the captan walk off and only say “follow” he stood up paced over to him saying

“sir tactical formation? Location? Obective!?”

Blackwing would look at Crusher. He was still emotionless as he would reply with. "Follow" To the first question. To the second one he would just stay quiet, he didnt even know where they were though he did guess they were somewhere out in the Vietnam area. As he asked about their objectve Blackwing would say only "Assist"

Paranoia.

Archon glanced around constantly, peeking out from behind the scope of his sniper rifle as he surveyed the scene. He couldn't find anything amiss yet; no hostiles to kill them, no grenades falling less than a metre away, nothing. He slowly got to his feet, feeling the way carefully in case the group ran into any mines. He kept his sniper rifle up in the air, constantly scouting for something to kill.

Easy private. Save it for when we got contact, there ain’t nothing out here.” Said Crusher as he walked past archeon.

He then helped everyone make a line and followed behind the captan.

“gotta stay the rock.” He said to himself “got a nervus kid who is probably making up some bull to sound tough about having fought before. The captan who is either freaking out right now or idolizes the terminator way to much, and fire is the only one who seems kind of normal.” He said as he lowered his gun and walked with them.

Blackwing would hear a twig snap in the area. He would stop walking as he looked around, trying to see if it was a animal or.... Blackwing would see a small flash, and the moment he saw that he would duck straight behind a tree, making the sniper shot miss by centimeter. He would still draw no guns as four armed gunmen came from in front of them. That was when Blackwing would notice two coming from the other three sides. A ambush. Blackwing would draw his ACR and return fire on the four coming from the front, he was relyign on the others to deal with the rest.

“CALL YOUR TARGETS!”

yelled Crusher as he jumped behind a large tree and blasted surpesive fire at the 3 behind him with the 240, he wasn’t aiming, he was just waving the gun where he saw them. forcing them back giving his men enough time to take cover and get ready.

“got 3 behind 7 o clock!” he said as he began to actually aim at them!

"I got the ones on the-" Firestorm was cut off as he felt a bullet hit him but was stopped by the heavy armor. It was right then when a part of Firestorm dug deep into the depths of his mind that should not even be there, crawled up to show itself. Firestorm went completely silent as he pulled out his grenade launcher and started to send a volley of high explosives downrange at the enemy. Using all six grenades, he quickly switched to his MG3 and fired. The MG3 might as well be a hose of lead shooting 800 a minute. Plus the 7.62mm rounds were something to fear when being shot at that speed. Firestorm couldn't help but laugh as the wall of lead flew at the enemies. Under that mask, Firestorm was making the most unsettling grin, the grin of someone who enjoys this kind of job too much.

((to help get some clarity, the MG3 is the modern variant of the infamous MG42. NO Firestorm is not secretly insane, well...I guess just a little. He just enjoys what he does...it is more like sadism.))

Archon muttered his soft consent as Crusher gave the order and designated his target, one of the remaining hostiles whom nopony had picked yet. He dropped to the ground and rolled around, behind Firestorm, lifting his sniper rifle back up and targeting the head of his chosen mark. He wasn't the type to rush in spraying bullets everywhere; time and experience had taught him that there was no substitute for precision.

He pulled the trigger.

Grudge fired bursts at the enemies he saw,

One was behind a tree that didn’t cover him or her completely. They fell riddled with bullets.

Two more were behind some kind of boulder.

Grudge fired in the air for the intimidation factor and also to help keep any hidden enemies at under cover till he cold find them.

Soon both of them raised there rifles and heads from the boulder taking aim.

Grudge simply fired in a horizontal line killing them both quickly.

“That’s 5” he said under his breath. He looked around, there was simply no other good cover to be used, and a 5 man pincer attack would make sense.

He quickly sprayed his field of fire to make sure there wasn’t any pony using camouflage, magic or other forms of trickery before shouting to his squad

“SECTOR CLEAR”

he held his sector making sure no enemies would come and try to flank them. but he did a quick glance back at his squad mates

“me and my big fat mouth .. oh the guy who runs around in a metal mask might be normal! Dang it!” he said to himself as he watched firestorm go beserk laughing at the enemies as he opened fire with his giant machine gun

he also saw archon in action. 1 shot 1 kill, a true sniper. He was impressed.

Blackwing would fire off two short bursts at the four who were running at them. Blackwing was not worried, or if he was he did not show it. He did not show anythign as he fired another short burst to suppress them. Blackwing would reload and then watch the area, waiting for one of them who dared move from cover.

His first target was what looked like a LMG gunner. Blackwing did not care what he was using, he just fired off a small three round burst into him. A cry could be heard as the soldier got shot in the chest three times.

As the second one came out he would look to see the griffon already firing at him. The moment he went around the corner a bullet would go straight through his head.

As the third came around Blackwing would shift his gun towards him, and fire. This was the first time he missed here as the soldier was smart enough to hide in cover yet again. Blackwing would just aim at the tree and shoot. Blackwing's team would hear a 'thud' as the body dropped.

As the fourth came out he would see all his friends dead, and start to run. Blackwing would see this and take careful aim before putting two in his back.

Firestorm walked to the side and went behind a tree right when his gun ran out and he quickly dropped the drum and put in another one and pulled the charging handle. He then switched to his grenade launcher and loaded the grenades in swiftly and locked the cylinder place. Firestorm walked out of cover and started lobbing grenades at the retreating group of soldiers, they were being blown away in groups of two as the explosives rained on them, again the launcher ran out. firestorm looked at the destruction near his sector "only thing let here is fire and corpses..." he said coldly over the com.

The hostiles were retreating, it seemed. Archon marvelled at the effectiveness of his team, even if some of them might be somewhat... strange. He took aim and fired at one of the running enemies, catching him in the head and sending him plummeting to the ground. Archon checked around for more danger, being all too aware that there were many methods to conceal one's presence. He only began to stand back up and away from Firestorm when he became reasonably certain that there were no more enemies around.

"Hostiles dead or running, sir." He reported quietly.

As soon as he heard his squad mates call out there sectors were clear the first thing he did was stand up and say

“all right anyone hurt? Check yourself for holes!”

to each of the ponies with him he asked

“sir” to blackwing “you o.k? do you want a report on these guys, who ambushed us or are we moving out of here as soon as possible?”

“private?” he came up to archeon “you hit? That was a darn good sniping job there. Is that your first confirmed kill?”

and then to fire “gunny, you ahh … you o.k?

"I'm fine." Archon said quietly. He paused for a second later, inspecting himself. "Yes, I'm quite sure I'm fine, sir. And, uh, no, sir, I've killed before. Though this time was one of my better times. Thank you, sir." He stood up straighter, gaining a little more confidence and looked around, examining the area. "Should we get moving now?"

He held his rifle up slightly higher, and pressed it closer to his chest. It made him feel safer.

Firestorm was still silent keeping his eyes on his sector, his muscles bulged through his uniform as he tightly gripped his weapons, anymore and he would start making dents. After a few seconds, Firestorm snapped out of it and loosened his grip and relaxed. "I'm all good, you good Crusher? Looks like you seen a ghost." he said chuckling as he walked passed him. "Sir we ae ready when you are Captain." he said to Blackwing.

Blackwing would turn around to face the group. "We move" He would say as he put his rifle back aroudn his back as he started walking towards the village again. Blackwing kenw that was not the only trouble they would face, though he did not care. They had a mission, whatever it is they had one, and it needs to be completed.

Archon nodded in assent and followed the others obediently. This was the first action he'd seen in a while, and he took a moment of silence to savour the thrill of combat and the pride in his shots before squashing it all ruthlessly and turning his mind back to the mission. He was once again on full alert, looking around for any hostiles and generally being as paranoid as he'd been before. He listened to what Crusher had to say to the captain about gathering intel, but voiced no opinion. This was not something for him to decide.

Crusher nodded and slung his 240 across his back and sprinted towards the bodies. Once at a group that were killed by black he stood up and quickly looked around

“4+2+,3+,4=13” he mumbled to himself he then down and inspected the body,

with haste the first thing he did was grab the weapon, an ak-47 he looked on the side and saw the serial numbers and manufacture engraving, it was in Chinese kanji. He then pulled the bolt back and inspected the weapon’s insides. It was clean but basically drenched in clp.

He tossed the gun aside and went back to the corpse.

“earth pony, young. Early 20’s.”

Crusher gritted his teeth and swallowed back a tear or two, and continued the search.

“no uniform.” He looked to the other bodies. Each had on some civilian clothes.

“no gear.” They carried everything in there hands and pockets. He checked the pockets, which only had a spare mag, no wallet or anything else. He quickly ripped off the shoe to look for any other form of id, but only found a worn out sole

moving as fast but as thoroughly as he could he dropped the shoe and stood up.

Done with his search of the body he was about to run back when he turned his head and saw one of the bodies had a pistol. He snatched it and inspected it.

It was a local pistol based off of a markov, which was based of a walter. It was small cheap, and in good shape. He unloaded the pistol and put it in one of his own pouches on his load bearing vest.

This whole thing took about 10 seconds

He ran back to Blackwing and said

“sir reporting.

13 hostile earth ponies.

The way the were set up they were clearly waiting in ambush, no telling if it was for us or not.

No uniforms or identification, just civilian clothes and dog tags or i.d"

He skipped the time of engagement part of the report.

"Equipment was Chinese manufactured ak-47. The cheap ones anyone can get there hands on. Poorly maintained and utilized. No tactical gear including holsters vests or coms. There was uhh.” He took the pistol out and holding it safely handed it too Blackwing for inspection “see for yourself, I cant tell who made that, might be local made; might be some black market stuff.”

He took a quick breath and in a professional tone said

“all findings indicate that this is a poorly trained, poorly equipped militia force. Sir there just a bunch of kids with guns”

to crusher this only raised more questions. Why would they send rangers the best of the best to fight a force that could easily be handled by probably even the worse of equestria’s military.

Too many questions
