Roleplay Type: World of Equestria

Name: Vanilla Pop

Sex: Male

Age: Stallion

Species: Unicorn

Eye colour: Golden

Coat: A pale, creamy color.

Mane/Tail: Vanilla's mane is structured like a bubbly root beer float. It's curly, poofy, and full of voluminous bounce. His mane is split evenly between two colors --- one being a dark tan, and the other a much lighter tan. His tail is also structured to be fluffy and dual colored.

Physique: Vanilla Pop is a petite stallion. He isn't especially tall, nor especially strong. Rather, he's simply average. His muzzle is structured to a round tip rather than a square one.

Residence: Canterlot

Occupation: Soda Pop Bartender

Vanilla Pop manages a small soft drink shop in Canterlot, where his focus is on bringing new, exciting drink flavors to the Equestrian public.

Cutie Mark: An old-fashioned soda pop glass, filled with a root beer float, and a striped straw.

When Vanilla was a young colt, he often struggled to find something he was good at. Like so many ponies before him, he was desperate to understand who he was, and what his place in Equestria would be. Perhaps he was too impatient. He attempted many different activities, ranging from sports, to dance, to swimming, skiing, music... Yet everything he tried would end in horrific failure. It seemed as if he would never find his special talent, or his cutie mark.

One fine day, after a particularly bad string of failures, Vanilla called it quits. He was defeated, frustrated, and exhausted from the ordeal. If having a cutie mark meant that he would be in pain for weeks, he would be having none of it.

Seeking the comfort of something familiar, Vanilla decided to visit his favorite place in the entire world: Fizzy's Fantastic Dandelion Floats. He often found that, in times of trouble, there was nothing a wonderful glass of bubbling drink couldn't cure. He'd always loved the shop owner, Fizzy Fizz, and his amazingly delicious Chocolate Dandelion Float. It seemed everypony else did too, as the shop was often busy with customers. When he entered the shop, however, he found something much different than he had anticipated to find. Rather than the usual smiling faces of ponies enjoying a sweet treat, he saw frustrated ponies. The Chocolate Dandelion Float... was sold out. He watched as the shop manager, Fizzy Fizz, tried to calm the crowd of disgruntled customers. He offered them many different concoctions of drinks he had attempted to make --- but none were as delicious as the Chocolate Dandelion Float. Fizzy simply didn't have the ingredients required to meet his customer's demands.

Whether it was welcome or not, Vanilla couldn't stand to see so many ponies fighting with one another. He hopped behind the counter with Fizzy Fizz, and began to dig through the ingredients. He tried one mix after another, until, finally, he came up with what he believed to be a satisfactory result. Serving the concoction to the angry customers, he noticed the tone of the crowd began to change. Slowly, the frustration dissipated, giving way to the happy smiles he had always loved to see at the shop. His on-the-fly drink mix, a mixture of Lavender, Vanilla, Honey, and Cream --- was a success!

It was at that moment Vanilla realized what he was meant to do, what his place in the world was, and what he -wanted- to do. He didn't want to be a bee keeper, a lion tamer, a rock star, or a garbage pony. He wanted to make delicious drinks for everypony to enjoy, and he wanted to see them smile. As he took in his successful endeavor, his cutie mark finally appeared.

History:

Vanilla Pop grew up in Canterlot with his parents. Being surrounded by so much cultural history, he certainly was never pressed for anything to do. He often took pleasure in spending time with other ponies his age, and exploring the city. That was until everyone in his class began getting their cutie marks before him. Though he was not the last pony to receive his cutie mark in school, it felt as if not having one meant he wasn't a part of the group anymore. Rather than spending time doing the things he loved, he began to suffer from what can only be described as an existential crisis. His head was filled with questions. Who was he? What was he good at? Did his life have meaning? What was the role he was supposed to fill in Equestria?!

The pressures of being a young blank flank began to weigh heavily on Vanilla. He felt lost and without an identity to call his own, as youth often do. Nevertheless, he was always filled with a desire to do something great with his time. He dedicated his time outside of school to learning new skills and new talents. Though he often failed at what he tried, and never especially became good at the things he attempted, it helped to open up his mind to new possibilities. Such a willingness to try new things inevitably assisted in the earning of his cutie mark, and the eventual, though small, success of his business as an adult.

To this day, Vanilla manages a small soda pop shop in his home town, where he experiments with exciting new flavors to bring to the market.

Character Summary:

At his core, Vanilla Pop is a pony of ponies. He loves spending time with other individuals, discussing their lives, the adventures they've been on, and the wonderful things they've experienced. If there is an opportunity to speak to another pony, he will take it. This isn't to say that Vanilla is a party pony, however! He is intimidated by large crowds, and often finds social situations with them stressful.

He can be described as a bubbly personality. Vanilla is often happy, eager, and optimistic. He enjoys traveling the world, seeking out inspiration and ways to spread joy to others. Though he travels often, he feels the strongest connection to his home town, and would much rather be managing his shop in Canterlot than anywhere else.

Despite his generally easy-going demeanor, Vanilla is a passionate pony. He feels things very strongly, and often his emotions can get the better of him in a given situation. He doesn't always police his emotions, which may get him into trouble he could have otherwise avoided. He's especially sensitive when it comes to matters of flavor. He can occasionally be snooty, but his intentions are always well-meaning. He's like a fashionista for culinary delights, and if an injustice to flavor is being brought to a pony's mouth, he will be offended ... If not also a little obnoxious.
