Coat: A popping light orange. soft and luxurious to the touch.
Mane/Tail Markings and Style: Teal mane and tail that are perfectly tailored to whatever modeling contract is being offered. Usually kept long an flowing if a little messy, the messiness only emphasizing her features.
Physique: Slender and not entirely strong, though very fit and healthy. Has a certain stringiness and toughness coming from her bloodlines, but is considerably softer and spongier than her peers.
Origin/Residence: Calnais as part of Gilded's history. Manehattan-Ponyville in reality, spending equal time in either place or on the road.
Occupation: Model.
Cutie Mark: None, currently.

History:
Gilded Lilly has a dual history. The one she prefers ponies to believe is that she is from Calnais in the Prance region of Equestria. From a poor family, she was actually spotted by a local design firm who needed a foal model and saw in her great potential. This required her to leave home but it was a offer her parents couldn't refuse. From there she became a local modeling superstar and was sent to Manehattan to showcase designs from Calnais during Fashion Week. There she was spotted by Equestrian designers at large and started taking larger roles and bigger contracts. She is now the dominant filly model her age who not only crosses the nation doing her work but has a special contract with Miss Rarity of Ponyville.

This is the first history and it is untrue. Gilded Lilly is in reality Valen Orange. While attending a fashion show in Manehattan with his good friend Rarity, whom he had met while commissioning a dress during his time living with his cousin Applejack in Ponyville, he was asked to take the place of an injured filly model. He was nervous but took to it like a moth to the flame and soon became famous. He spends an increasing amount of time as Gilded Lilly, almost to the extent that his natural Manehattan accent has vanished and a distinct Calnais accent has started to slip into his speech. Juggling dual identities has been hard for Valen and it has shown in his classwork; formerly one of the academies best students, he has slipped a little and is no longer considered top of the class. Beyond the time crunch, his life is in many ways the same as before and the lack of a cutie mark still does not worry him as he marches on.

Personality:
Valen is polite, well-spoke, considerate, and timid to a degree. In order to make sure that nopony can connect the dots, Gilded Lilly is intentionally loud, boisterous, demanding, but still well-spoken and generally kind. A diva in most senses of the word, Gilded is used to living the high life and perhaps because of her humble roots doesn't like excuses. More than a few aides have burnt themselves out on her demanding nature, but just as many keep on coming back. As long as her needs and wants are taken care of, Gilded is considered a dream to be around as her natural kindness shines though.

Outside of work, Gilded is a bit of an enigma. The truth is that Valen only ever intends to be Gilded during work and slip away. If stuck as Gilded outside of that setting, as is happening increasingly often, the desire to not rock the boat is strong. This can lead to Gilded agreeing to most things as long as she trusts the ponies involved. This has yet to bite her in the rear; no doubt one day it might and until then she will continue making that fatal error.
 

Due to the success of her modeling career she has started to amass a great deal of wealth, at least for a pony her age. Instead of spending all of it, Gilded has invested back into fashion through several houses and Miss Rarity herself. Of course as a filly she has certain desires and uses some of that money frivolously, more than pleased to part with bits for friends, clothes, events, and good times alike.

Beyond all of the gregariousness, Gilded is afraid of being discovered by ponies who would be unkind to her regarding what she is doing. Nothing would please her more than finding somepony who knows and supports her- and as she grows up a bit and romantic feelings start to flutter in her heart for the first time, few things worry her more. If she finds a pony who likes it all? Even better. Trusting and naturally gentle, what could be better than that trust to be returned?
