Appearance: Kind of murky red fur, soft ears, and a jet-black mane that curls all the way to the middle of her stomach, held up in a tight ponytail. Her mane parts to the side at the front, longer, fuller bangs on the left, and shorter strands of hair on the right. Erran has soft, champagne pink eyes and curling eyelashes. The outer rim of her wings are tipped with silver. Despite her rather elegant features, there’s a kind of ruggedness about her appearance.

Cutie Mark: Her "cutie mark" is a symbol of the Aerial Kane, a traveling band of closely-knit pegasi who use their fighting skills to loot and raid small towns for a living. The Kane, shunning the tradition of earning cutie marks, instead tattooed symbols on their flanks as an emblem of one's loyalty to the band. In their language, these symbols represented what role they took. Erran's symbol means "renegade."
 

History: Errant was raised in the traveling band called the Aerial Kane. Being somewhat of a trouble-maker, Erran was dubbed "Ren," short for "renegade," which was her flank symbol. After a particularly violent raid in which her mother was slaughtered in the chaos, Erran discovered how cruel her people are and fled from her family and friends. Today she works as a mercenary, using her knowledge of combat and stealing to help other people, good and bad.

Character Personality: Because she grew up in a rough-and-tumble environment, she has a very carefree and wild personality. She enjoys being around other ponies, helping them, and interacting with them. In the rare instances when she makes "true" friends, she's loyal to a fault - another outcome from her growing up in a tight-knit community. She judges people by who their are instead of what they are.

 

Although most other ponies can't see it, she has a deep moral conflict going on inside her; a lot of the time she doesn't know what's right or what's wrong, which makes her mercenary work difficult. It doesn't help that she doesn't know her cutie mark either - something she's been curious about since she was born. She often wonders what her true calling would be if they hadn't covered her flank.
