CandyStar
Age: 15 Gender: Mare Species: Earth Pony Cutie Mark: Two rosemary sprigs surrounding a heart, this represents her talent as a herbalist. Personality: Rosemary is kind and timid, and avoids confrontation. She spends her time collecting herbs to create healing salves and moves from town to city, but only to gather provisions for herself, and never stays for too long. You could call her a survivalist by the way she can identify any plant just by looking at it. Backstory: Rosemary was born in Vanhoover, a city in which she lived with her family. Her family is well known as famous fighters who have earned respect throughout the years as they defended their town from attacks by creatures of the forest. But Rosemary was hesitant to learn such skills, but after some encouragement, she took on the training for ten years, honing her abilities. But one day during a sparring match, she loses her temper and injures her partner, this makes her feel ashamed and she vows never to use it again. But if pushed into a corner, she will use it, but only in self defense. Since then, she has lived on her own and lives in the forests, also helping anypony who is hurt, by charging a small fee to treat them. Other: Rosemary's self-defense fighting style is similar to "Kajukenbo". Kajukenbo is an American hybrid martial art. The name Kajukenbo is a portmanteau of the various arts from which its style is derived: KA for Karate and Tang Soo Do Korean Karate, JU for Judo and Jujutsu, KEN for Kenpo and BO for Western and Chinese Boxing. Kajukenbo training incorporates a blend of striking, kicking, throwing, takedowns, joint locks and weapon disarmament. In contrast to many traditional martial arts, students are not required to mimic their teacher, but are encouraged to develop their own "expression" of the art. Kajukenbo was founded in 1947 in the Palama Settlement on Oahu, Hawaii. In the late 1940s, the Palama Settlement was a violent area. Due to this environment, five martial artists from varying backgrounds came together with the goal of developing an art that would be practical and effective on the street. These founders sought to develop one style that would complement each of their individual styles and yet allow for effective fighting at a greater variety of ranges and speeds.
