{I'm really bad at horse puns.. forgive me}

Misty had ignored the constant  letters for days, sure they were just some sort of prank by her classmates. On the third day however, there was a loud knock at her parents door.

...

"Magic? But I'm an earth pony!" Misty Moon cried at the looming stallion, Stagrid, she thought his name was, who standing above her. "I don't have magic!"

"It is not just the unicorns that have magic, Miss Misty. Even though you come from Earth Pony parents, you have magic in you.."

"But how will I do spells? I don't have a horn!" she cried, gesturing to her forehead, where no pointy horn poked through her sea-blue mane.

"You will get a magic wand; it can do everything a horn can and more. You don't need a horn to be magic," the stallion said, looming down at her. He was huge; bigger than any stallion she had ever seen before but he was kindly and moved slowly, as though worried he might break something by his mere presence alone. A broken horn peeked through the rough scrag of hair on his forehead, and he smiled down at her.

"Where will I get a wand?" she asked, momentarily suspending her disbelief.

"A place where only the magic ones can go," he replied. "To Gallop Alley. Only, we can't go now, it's too late," he said, glancing at the clock on her parents mantle. Her parents, incidentally, were standing quietly in the corner, looking prouder than any of the Apples winning a blue ribbon.

"Tomorrow, we'll go and meet with tha' others. Some'll be waiting in the Inn, you'll see! Plenty of Earth Ponies like yourself who are -" he yawned widely. "- just as confused as you are," he finished, setting up a small tent in the middle of the living room and disappearing inside it.

...

The next morning they set off. Amidst teary goodbyes, her parents had given her a big bag full of bits, which she had safely slid inside her saddle bags. She followed Stagrid for AGES, and only when she had started to give up hope, they came to a stop in front of a rundown-looking Inn.

"Ah." he began. "Here we are Misty. Are you ready to meet some more magic folk - and not just the unicorns, mind,"

Fiora stood within the inn. Her hooves around a mug of cold water, since she was too young to drink alcohol. She held it up and sipped on it, her feathers twitching as she did so. She placed the mug down and signed gently.

She was told to wait here, that she was going to be meeting up with Stagrid and a couple other ponies supposedly. She had gotten the letters, heck she had gotten them for days and she had no way of contacting back.

Her mother was more than met the eye however. She was more than just a simple unicorn. She had gone to this school back when she was a foal! Fiora couldn't believe it, her only parent was a masterful magic caster! What even made her more baffled was the fact that she herself could cast magic!

How was that possable? Fiora was a Pegasus not a unicorn! She could fly, not cast spells right?

She found the next day that she would be leaving. She had said her goodbyes. Promised to write and was on her way.

Now she was sitting. Waiting for something to happen. She began to worry.

She sighed and sipped more of her water. Watching around for her escort.
