Wonderbolts Academy! (Private: Lyipheoryia)

Recommended Posts

"Ahhh.. what a great day!" Swift said, streatching his hooves and wings as he exited his house in Cloudsdale.

He was a pegasus, with a light teal coat and brown hair. He had a cutie mark of a feather with some lines that simulated air blowing it.

He used to work as a simple weather pony, but he decided to see if he could become a wonderbolt! It had been his dream since he was a little colt, and it is still up to date. This was supposed to be the first day that new recruits could go and see if they could apply to the academy, so he soon left his home and headed towards it. He had been training so hard, he had to be able to join!

Agile scouted around the Academy, as per orders from her Captain.  She was away on a trip with the Princesses, and had left him in charge of testing the new possible recruits.  He allowed his wings to stop flapping, gliding along the drift while silently observing the applicants.  This was his way, to be a great observer up in the air, an agile flyer living up to his name.  He had always been part of the Wonderbolts, and never saw himself as a pony away from the group.  This was his family, and today was the day his family grew just a little bit bigger.

He landed a few steps from the main office, seeing the line of "newbies".  He saw some possible Wonderbolts, some "perhaps-possible" Wonderbolts, and some "non-Wonderbolt" material.  He stood a few steps from the door, to be the first face the applicants would see.

"Welcome, one and all, to the WONDERBOLTS ACADEMY!"

Once Swift was at the academy, he followed the orders and directions of some pegasus that worked there or were also recruits, soon ending at the main office where he was suppsed to see the pony that was going to recruit them. He felt a bit eager to meet the charming leader of the wonderbolts, Spitfire! But to hus surprise, she was not there, but another pony that seemed to be some sort of officer in there.

Swift stood in line with the other aspirants to wonderbolts, just outside of the office, until the officer came out of the office. He stood up right, his head up high, as he went a bit more serious. "Thank you, sir!" He said a bit proud of being there, eager to start.

Some other ponies shared his enthusiasm, well, most of them. He had trained so hard to be there!

Agile gave a nod to the enthusiastic applicant-now, that one looked like Wonderbolt material.  Still, he had to follow big 'ol Captain's guide to train recruite: push 'em down to spring 'em up.  And that one could use a lot of "pushing down".  Deciding that he had spend enough time welcoming newbies, he marched into the office and barged behind the counter.  He motioned to the clock, signalling the end of the head clerk's shift.  I'll take the next round.  He pushed aside the seat, preferring to keep his blood flowing by standing.  Huh, the next pony in line was the "enthusiastic dope", as the beloved Captain would have called.

"Form," he muttered under his breath, smoothing the grey marble countertop.

Swift gave a smile after the officer nodded to him. Welp, time for the next part. He had filled the form as it was requested and was now time to give it to them. He waited in line for a moment before walking in with his papers ready. "Here sir." He said calmly to Agile as he let the papers on the desk and made a small grin. He had filled it out with everything they asked, so he was sure it was going to be in order

Agile rolled his eyes, think you're hotstuff, eh?  Still, the optimism was well-needed under the strict Captain's nose.  She could be a little...overly-demanded at times.  But she was his Captain, and he was specially chosen to work in his title.  He nodded to the applicant, already half on his mind to accept him, "Wait over there, and go into the next available room,"  He gestured to the line of office rooms along the hallway.  With that, he turned away and went on to the next applicant.

But he wasn't done with the Enthusiastic Dope yet-for he was Agile Speeds, the master of multi-tasking.  He went over the next form, while monitoring the Enthusiastic Dope.  He saw his confident motions, his cocky smile and proud word.  Wonderbolt?  Maybe...maybe not.

Swift smiled and nodded. "Sure." He said a bit optimistic. He turned around and exited the room, going to an office that was free. It was just a pair of doors down the hallway, not so far from the office Agile was.

"Well, that went better than expected... still, it was just the start." Swift said as he walked to the office. Once in, he looked around and sat down in the chair at the side of the room, waiting for any pony to come and carry on to the next part. He was so eager to go out and fly! But he knew this part was really important to, so he was being rather patient.

BANG!  BANG! Bangs of a drum.

Horseapples, I almost forgot that the royal embassies from Saudi Arabia were expecting a flight show today!  He quickly flew out of the office, shouting to all the applicants to wait.  He called up the rest of the Wonderbolts, and few into the sky for their practiced formations, "Alpha...and separate!  Beta team left, Delta upwards into Hook, Central fliers wait...and Firework Formation!  Re-gather into Arrow Formation...and separate!  Alpha team-start, all other fliers, begin background formations.  Beta team-start!  Epsilons team-start!  Delta team-start!  Gamma team-start...and all end.  Grand finale-let's make this good, ponies!  Into Arrow, and Hook, and Flower, and Multiple Fireworks!  Good work, everyone, good work,"

As he began to land, he noticed a small crowd of ponies watching their performance.  The embassies had gone now, but his adoring fans had not.  He looked at them...how could he land if they were blocking his every chance of cloud?

"What was that?" Swift asked as he looked around to whatever made that sound. He stood up and exited the room, then saw that the officer had left the room, telling the others that the applications would be stopped for a while. Soon, the ponies rushed out.

Not knowing what was going on, he decided to follow them. He then smiled to what he saw. The wonderbolts performing out to some embassadors  from Saddle Arabia. He smiled and took seat on a cloud he normaly used to watch them. It was high but offered a great view of the area!

He watched the show until it ended, then clapped his hooves, cheereing to the wonderbolts. That was just amazing! Really amazing! He wanted to be flying with them so much...

He stood up, ready to fly down, but then noticed the officer not being able to land because of the fans. "Hey!" Swift yelled to him. "Over here! There is space for you to land here!" He added. the cloud was small, but more than enugh for them

Agile caught sight of a piece of cloud, a small one, but just large enough for him to land.  Unfortunately, the Energetic Dope seemed to have found it first, eagerly yelling to him that there was space for him to land.  Agile almost rolled his eyes, but caught himself lest his eye roll gave his eyes a full blast to the Sun.  Always ready to poke some fun, and to follow the morals of "push 'em down to spring 'em up", he swerved by nice and near the cloud.  He made moves to land, hovering over the spot, lowering...and lowering, and...he wrinkled his nose and aimed his head upwards, using tip of his hoof to graze the cloud and to push off into a streamline away.  He gave a sideways smirk, before landing on an even smaller piece of cloud in the sky.  He dusted his feather, and was about to resume his taunt back down to the Academy when he saw the sun.  It was no where near the end of the day, but the Sun tipped at a stunning angle, sliding beneath two think layers of cloud and fog.  A shy rainbow peeked his head out from the sides.  Agile's gasp stayed in his throat...and he sat there, silently admiring the show.

Swift was not sure what was the officer doing. Maybe just showing off? heh, looked like it, no that he minded. He could learn by observation! He admired as he did the movements amazed by all the did.

"Wow!" Swift said after Agile did that. How did he... maybe it was just a coincidence, seeing how Agile reacted. "That... was... amazing!" He said a bit cheerful after seeing the rainbow. Just... wow...

Agile remained on the cloud, lost in his own thought, as he often did.  The sun seemed to have moved down just a little bit, and the rainbow seemed nonexistent.  He wondered how Enthusiastic Dope was doing...how was he doing?  He thought about Prune, and their last argument.  Each argument seemed less and less apart from the last, and each fight seemed more painful and harsh, too.  What if they were breaking apart?  What if they were losing their love for each other?  No, no, he still loved her...and she loved him.  He hoped.  He gazed into the horizon, the silly thought that the Sun would blaze into his eyes now gone.  He let his mind run lose, the sky always open to his secrets and deepest, inner-most thoughts, "Why am I a Wonderbolt?  Whatever did Spits see in me?  There were so many, are so many, other better than me out there.  They can react faster, fly with more agility, yell louder, seem more authoritative.  Why me?  I'm just another Pegasus caught in his father's shadow.  Caught in his own world, where he somehow meant something to somepony and was somepony to another pony.  I always thought I would do great things...but wasn't that all just a colthood dream?  The whole...'I wanna be a Wonderbolt one day, papa!' deal."  He closed his eyes and imagined his world how it should be, with his a worthless nothing-because that's how he saw himself.  And it would take a real persistent pony, a real optimistic pony, a real enthusiastic pony to overcome that with him.  Like that Enthusiastic Dope.

Swift, after a moment of seeing that Agile was not doing anything in there, lowered his ears a bit. "Uhmmm... you okay?" He asked Agile as he flew to his side. He looked lost in his thoughts... perhaps something was troubling him, most likely because of the look he had on his eyes before he closed them. "Hey, cheer up." he said smiling as he sat beside him, then just hugged him. "mom always told me that hugs solved things." he said with a small smile as he hugged Agile to calm him down. What ever it was, he was sure a hug would help him get better.

He felt hooves close around him, warm and fuzzy-like a pony's.  It felt so warm, and he felt...loved within the embrace.  Everything seemed to calm, if only for a second.  He smiled contently, before turning to whomever was hugging him, "Thanks-that really meant a lo-"  It was the Enthusiastic Dope.  Again.  Being enthusiastic and dopey.  Urgh...

He danced backwards, flying away-he wanted to escape his Wonderbolt life and the applicants and the recruits and training and rules and guidelines and uniforms and....the Enthusiastic Dope!  Not have them come to him...He needed to show him that he was tough.  That he didn't need hugs or anything of the sort to cheer him up.

"Get up and GIVE ME FIFTY!  Then get your flank back to your mommy," his voice was harsh and cruel.  Hoping to make up for the one moment of weakness the applicant saw him in.

Swift smiled after seeing him calm down. Just as he though, he hug helped, but it looked that he wsn't that happy with it. Well, from comming from him. "Aaahhh!" He said a bit surprised by the sudden orders and how he said it. He  knew he was trying to sty strong, as a recruit he had to comply. He got down and started doing the pushups with his wings, going up and down fifty times just as he said. "

"Done sir!" He said after he finishing, standing up and saluting him.

Agile had long left the cloud.  Instead, he was back at the cabin, sifting through the letters he had intended to send Prune, but never ended up doing.  He slammed his head onto the desk, grimacing as he heard his ears ring in displeasure.  Now, let's see who gets into the Academy...There were so many candidates, and so many good applicants.  But which one?  Well, they would have to prove themselves in the entrance exams.  He snickered, a side smile sneaking its way onto his muzzle-oh yes, entrance exams.

"Ah... great. He left..." Swift said sighing. He then stood up and flew back to the academy. The entrance exams would start soon, and he better be ready for them if he wanted to get in!

When he arrived, he looked around for the other ponies to see where the exam would be, and see if he could spot that officer, just as an extra.

He stood at the side of the room, watching all the applicants behave.  This exam was much different from all the others most would have ever seen.  It wasn't academic or required a specific mindset, it wasn't something one could study for, or even prepare for.  Each applicant was equipped with a magic bracelet, a band camouflaging as a "Wonderbolt Applicant" label.  Several disguised Wonderbolts (disguised by magic) were placed around the room.  Each one was assigned a few specific applicant, based on their bracelet aura colour (the aura was only visible to the assigned Wonderbolt).  Each disguised Wonderbolt was tasked in provoking the applicants in every way, to test and to see if their reactions were compromising enough to be of Wonderbolt status.  By this, they were tasked to be meanies, bullies, smart-flanks, bossy, stubborn, downright stupid, and manipulative.

With short, blue spikey mane and a long curly tail, he looked nothing like he did before the spell.  His cutie mark was a pair of wings made of water, and his fur was a soft, rainy blue.  His eyes were...of no surprise, blue.  This Agile was not named Agile, but rather Water Whistler.  Water Whistler spoke in a quiet, oblivious voice.  Water Whistler had the personality opposite of Agile.

His groaned, and he began scouting the room for his applicants.

Not so long after Swift arrived, he looked around. Hmm.. it looked that there were more ponies than last time, but more could had arrived after he left. He shrugged at that and walked around, then noticed that the ponies were in groups. He looked around to get into one and noticed a blue pegasus with a cutie maro of some wings made of water. What an interesting choice. Well, if it was his CM, it was his. "Hey." He said with a soft smiled as he walked a bit close, trying to make perhaps new friends in there

(What is Swift's pet peeve?  Bullies?  Oblivious ponies?  I need to pull him into annoyance and anger zone.  Sorry-Swift.)

Great, just great.  Enthusiastic Dope was blue...which just so happened to be his colour.  Ahh...Oh, and he was coming over, too.  No, no...stay away!  Go away!  Shoo! "Hi..."

No, no what was that?!  You just said hi to him.  To HIM.  Now he won't eve go away.  "Are you here to be a Wonderbolt?"

(hmmm... obstinate ponies mostly. Bullies a bit, but is hard for them to get him mad at them.)

Swift smiled. to the pony. "Hi. Yeah, i am here to become one." he said smiling to the pony as he walked in front of him. "I would presume the same about you, am I right?" He said smiing

(Obstinate...stubbornness to the extreme?  Yes...that's easy to rp as.  Because....that's me.  Kinda.  IRL.)

"You're not here to become one.  You're here to have a chance at becoming one," he muttered, "I'm here to become one,"

(xD Yeah. He doesn't get along with that kind of ponies :P)

"Oh, really?" Swift asked. "We all have chances to become one." he said with a soft smile. "But I know i will become one!" He added a bit proud of himself

"No, you want to become one.  I will become one, " He said softly.  The quiet tone and gentleness of his voice only adding to it's offensive quality.  He added, "Ponies like you never become what they want to become,"
