Soul was in shock for a good while before realizing what was going on and taking off with Shadow. Autumn and Silverthorn came to Tavi's sides as they tried to heal her grevious wounds. Kane got to his feet as he saw Soul and Shadow going into the distance with concern for what would happen next.

Wind picked himself up and barely had time to wisk away dodging another slash by the Fox demon, "Do you hate me now?" He asked before the Fox was above him firing a barrage of purple bomb blasts down on him. Wind appeared above and blasted an enormous wave of air that created a giant crater in the earth spanding a few miles in every direction, the Fox demon stood unphased at the center growling. Wind narrowed his eyes before noticing his leg caught by a hand from behind, the Fox demon had some of its aura stretched into the ground and traveling around to sneak up on him, Wind was pulled back down fast crashing into the ground hard.

Soul saw the battle as they got closer. "That thing...is Trax? How?"

"There only a few who know, The Princesses Tia and Luna, Laxus, Caesar, and now Us. Before Trax came here, he was sick, poisoned by a Black Mage. At the time, the Nine Tailed Fox Demon was terrorizing the neighboring country to the east, Trax's homeland. It was decided that the beast had to be sealed away, and Trax's father offered him in hopes of possibly healing him. The Sealing was a success, and Trax was no longer sick, but his anger and rage grew exponentially from the Hatred of the Nine Tails. On a peace meeting, The Princesses heard the stories of an outcast whose family left him because of his anger, they decided to take him to their school and teach him magic and control over his hatred. I learned this through my travels, but I didnt know it was him until now, I always felt like he was holding back. Not his own power, but something far worse inside." Shadow explained as they watched Wind get beaten mercilessly all around the crater. Wind back up and formed a wind barrier around him that can tear flesh from bone, but the Fox Demon merely pushed itself through against the wind and grabbing onto Wind. "Get off of me!" Wind growled before the Fox punched him, Wind flew back across the ground sticking like a nail into the wall with his arms and legs drooping down. The Fox Demon opened up its mouth forming a purple ball from energy around it. Wind dropped down and thrust his hands out then pulled them back, his wind picked up a large piece of rock and dropped it on top of the Fox causing a massive explosion. The smoke cleared with the Fox still inharmed but a Sevent tail had formed, Wind grew nervous, "So this is the power of the Nine Tails, it's incredible. Lets just see how it takes my ultimate spell," Wind put his hands together summoning the last of his magic, "Wind God: Hurricane Sphere!" A small ball of condensed air formed between his palms before he let it float up growing bigger and bigger. The Fox went run forward but the ground beneath began to float up as the massive sphere of hurricane winds pulled everything in, the Fox started to leap down but Wind focused another hurricane ball at him forcing the Fox into the Hurrincane sphere.

"He's still going to need our help." Soul said as his eyes burned with the dragon blood in his veins. "There's no way Wind can survive this. We have to destroy him for good."

Shadow held out his hand infront of Soul, "If you wish to live, do not get invovled, theres a reason why the Fox was sealed away. Because no Wizard or Witch has ever come close to beating it."

 

The massive hurricane sphere pulsed causing Wind to step back in shock, red light glowed inside before the top half of an enormous muscled bodied fox broke through the sphere with a mighty roar, "It is true then... So much hatred and anger... I had lost the moment I forced it out..." Wind spoke softly as the Beast formed a purple ball in its mouth aiming down at Wind.

 

Trax opened his eyes inside a blank space, "Where am I? The Fox, it must have taken control of me then." Suddenly the room became a a dungeon with water on the floor nearly calf high, one side was barred off by large prison bars, at the center was a circle with a sealing paper placed over it. Behind it stood the silhouette of a massive Nine Tailed Fox. "Release me, and I grant you power beyond imagination, power that will vanquish any enemy you come across. So you can protect those you oh so deeply for." His voice rumbled deeply around the room. Trax knew better, but he was at a loss for words, he wanted to protect his friends... Protect those he loves. Tavi flashed in his mind causing him to step forward toward the bars, he put his hand up as the sealing paper moved down to his height. A ripple in the water caused him to pause as a figure stood beside him looking the opposite way, a hand rested on his shoulder, "He's lying to you my Boy, he only cares for himself, onl Hate and Anger drive him. That is not who you are." The voice was familiar, like his but deeper. Looking up to the stranger his eyes widened, the man looked like him, but older. "F-Father?" 

 

Without warning the Fox vanished and the Hurricane Sphere was dispelled leaving Trax falling to the ground, he landed on his feet wiping away blood from the corner of his mouth. "I wont let anyone harm my friends, and I sure as heII wont let another fight my battles for me. ....Except this one-" He said with a smirk before falling unconscious. Wind starred in utter disbelief, "Really not understand what just occurred, so I think I'm just to kill you and your friends now." 

 

Shadow extended Soul out on a hand from his aura, "Alright time to intervene, Batter up." He joked before launching Soul at Wind.

Soul flew at Wind with the speed of a full grown dragon as he created a massive shout that tore through Wind's body and his very soul. "You've been allowed to live for too long." He said before releasing another shout that did the same thing but far worse.

Wind braced against but the power was too great, he yell as he was wiped from existence. Shadow landed beside Soul, "Nicely done, sometimes I wonder how I managed to face the two of you together. Oh well, lets go get Trax and make sure the others are alright."

 

Hazel knelt with Autumn beside Tavi, both of them using healing spells. Oakly stood by watching patiently, his gaze often flickered to Kane and Black.

Soul nodded to Shadow before teleporting them to where Trax fell. 

 

Kane kept his gaze on Oakly as he looked around at them. "Is she going to make it?" Silverthorn said with concern.

Shadow picked Trax but he didnt wake, "Of course he's gonna make it difficult for us."

 

"She's lost a lot of blood, but we were able to stop the bleeding and close the wound. Give us a few more minutes and we'll be able to move her." Hazel said as she put more magic into her spell.

Soul and Shadow returned to the others with Trax. Soul looked over to Kane who was finally coming down from his dragon powers. "There's no mistake, Kane. I don't know how, but you are a user of the Dragon Tongue. There's only one explanation why you already know how to use it. Dragons will soon return, and their souls are searching for their new homes."

"If thats the case, then the open fields are not our best spot to rest, hows Tavi?" Shadow asked as he had Trax over his shoulder, Hazel stopped her spell, "She's good to move, but we need to hurry back." Shadow nodded, "Then lets be quick about it."

 

The next afternoon, they arrived at the Institute greeted by Captain Una and Dossay of the Royal Guard, they rushed Tavi and Trax to the infirmary and let everyone else past except for a few. "I'm sorry Hazel but we can't ignore the crimes Oakly committed, He's coming with us." Una said sternly as Hazel stood in front of Oakly, Shadow waited patiently by but kept out of it.

Blade had joined them in the infirmary to check on Tavi and Trax, where Soul told him the whole store. "That's quite a battle, thankfully you're all alive." Blade said before turning to Kane. "So you might have a dragon soul in you, huh? It would explain why you have knowledge of the tongue already. It may be similar to what's happen with Flint. And they just started to happen after the stone came." Blade thought aloud. "It's a long shot, but perhaps even though all the stones are needed to harness it's power, the presence of one could cause anomaly's in magic. I'll have to research it further."

"Flint and I share the same type of magic, does that mean I'm in trouble or something?" Black asked half worriedly.

 

"Hold on! Oakly just helped us out alot, and what happened at the Tower was a mistake! He was being used I just know it!" Hazel rebutled, Dossay shook his head, "You have no evidence suggesting he was being controlled, and loosing his memory doesnt get him off scott free. We cant ignore what he's done, Hazel." Hazel took a fighting stance, "Then if you want him, you'll have to go through me." She challenged defensivly. "No." Oakly said as Una and Dossay reached for their magic swords, he walked foward as Hazel turned around, "I wont let you suffer for my sins, especially for someone of great Light like you. I will atone for my sins, just promise me you'll keep fighting, and never let anyone extinguish your brilliant Light." He told as he let her hair slip through his fingers. Hazel stood tearing up as Oakly was escorted away in cuffs, Shadow watched them go before nodding for Hazel to follow so they could meet up with the others.

Blade groaned. "No, you idiot. It just means the stone is causing interference with certain people's magic. Such as Kane suddenly knowing dragon tongue or you and Flint suddenly having immense power, or the beast inside Trax awakening." Soul put a hand on Blade's shoulder. "Well we're all eager to learn what you discover. Meanwhile we have to recover from this battle."

 

Silverthorn saw Hazel was upset about Oakly and hugged her, her sisterly instincts taking over as she wanted to comfort Hazel. Twilight soon entered escorted by Moonshield and two other battlemages. "The princesses and I have been informed of the mission you all went on. We are glad to have you all back here safe. You're all excused from classes this week to recover. This institution is in your debt for defeating a great evil." She then nodded for Moonshield and his men to take their leave before going to the furthest corner of the room away from the others where Soul joined her in an embrace.

Hazel hugged her back, but she felt more at peace now, at least now she new about Oakly.

 

Trax opened his eyes seeing Sun and Ally sitting by Tavi as she lay sleeping, Allys arm was in a sling but otherwise she was alright. Trax felt nothing wrong about him, in fact he felt better than ever. He knew the reason, the Fox didnt want its vessel to die with him in it. He sat up and walked over to Tavi taking her hand, "I think I've made my choice." Ally and Sun nodded respectively, he thought Ally would lash out but she remained calm with understanding, after all Tavi had known Trax the longest.

 

Black lookd at his hands, "I'm gonna be as strong as Flint? AWESOME!" He cheered excitedly.  

 

Somewhere in the desert, Flint faced a dark being, "I wont ask again, who are you?" His hands lit up with fire, the dark being chuckled, "I am a demon of the Underworld, just like you." Flint narrowed his eyes, "Your form is different, but I can awake your real self." Flint increased his flames as the Dark being rushed him. From the distance a massive explosion of fire shook the area.

One week later...

 

Soul and Kane were in one of the school's many meditation grounds. They were both sitting down in a relaxed position as Soul had burned a few words in dragon tongue on the ground before him. "It's not enough to know how to shout, but what you're shouting. It's not a battle cry, you have to know the words. That's how you gain control." Kane meditated on one of the words as it glowed on the ground before him. 

 

Autumn was reading a book while Silverthorn was laying on a sofa watching Blade do research on the stone again. "Think you'll be done with that by next century?" She teased as Blade scowled at her. 

 

Twilight entered an office with Celestia and Luna as Moonshield and two Battlemages were waiting for them. "Princesses, Archmage, thank you for meeting me. We have a problem." 

 

Far away from the city, two hooded figures stood before a large plane that was burning with green fire. A single hand reach from the fire and grabbed the ground before them.

Nearby, Trax and Shadow sparred hand to hand, their skills matching each step. Even with one arm, Shadow effortlessly kept up with Trax, the vampire knew many things that has kept him on par with both Soul and Trax.

 

Black and Shade sat by watching awe, but Blacks gaze kept flickering to Soul and Kane as they studied the dragon tongue.

 

"Settle down Silver, Blades doing his best. Unless you want to do it yourself?" Hazel said with sly wink at her.

 

"What news have you brought us?" Luna asked, Tia's eyes flickered side to side as she felt a sudden shift in the worlds magic current.

 

Laxus's eyes shot open, the sudden appearence of a great power besides Caesars, and Flints power had vanished a week back. "What Now?"

 

Inside the prison, a magic translucent box held Oakly, he sat back against the wall in defeat. His eyes opened as he could the surge even within his cell, "This feeling.... It's him..."

As Kane meditated on the word Soul burned into the ground, he felt small streams of power enter his body. A small tint of a glow came to Kane's eyes. "Tor..." Kane whispered as he finally learned the word. The entire area they were in suddenly gently shook from Kane speaking a word from Dragon Tongue. "Good..." Soul said in approval. 

 

"Why would I want to stare at a rock all day? Talk about boring." Silverthorn groaned as she lounged on the sofa. "You should probably consider it since you failed the crap out of our last mysticism exam because you wanted to go out and party the night before." Autumn said not looking up from her book as Silverthorn sat up and glared at her. "Hey! That cute guy from class invited me! How could you say no to that face?" She said angrily. "I wouldn't know, Silver. I've had a boyfriend for longer than two weeks." Autumn said nonchalantly turning a page. Silverthorn's face turned red as she crossed her arms and looked away. "I know an ice-based healing spell that could help with that burn, Silver." Blade said with a smirk as he looked up from his notes.

 

"Our battlemage outpost to the east saw it while on patrol." Moonshield said before creating an image from magic depicting a field of green flames with several demon-like creatures emerging from them. Two hooded figures watched them. "After years of hiding, the demonlord Nergal Gorefiend has returned and created an opening to the netherworld. He did it using the ancient staff known as the Piller of Surtyr. It was a staff used by ancient necromancers to bring demons of the netherworld to our plane, and was sealed deep below the Institute by Starswirl the Bearded." The image changed to the shorter of the hooded figures unmasking himself revealing a familiar face. "The staff was stolen and given to Nergal, and unfortunately it was a former student. Slipknot Hellfire, he was a very powerful student, still holds records and feats of strength in conjuration. Easily the strongest of the Circle before Laxus and the others came along."

"You gonna teach him how to speak it fluently like you too." Trax asked as he blocked a high kick from Shadow.

 

Hazel chuckled but paused as she felt a rise in magic power, "Whoa, Blade?"

 

"Luna, contact Caesar and Flint, they may still be close by." Tia said with a serious tone, Luna nodded and started forming a crystal moon ball in her hands searching for Caesar. "The Danger is far too great for our students, therefore only those within the Circle will be sent to combat this enemy, Laxus will lead them. With all Ten together, even Nergal will know fear."

"In time. It took me ten years and I've still not perfected it. However Kane seems to be an anomaly, he may learn it in a matter of days." Soul said as he burned another word into the ground for Kane to meditate on. 

 

Blade shrugged. "Wasn't me. Maybe it was Soul and Kane, they've been working on dragon tongue all morning."

 

"I hope so, your highness. But even if they can defeat Nergal and Slipknot, there's the matter of the rift and the demons coming from it. I can send a battalion of my strongest battlemages to accompany them should their numbers be too high." Moonshield said.

"Being Special? I bet Tavi's feeling pretty special right about now too eh Traxy?" Shadow chuckled, with his guard down from the joke, Trax landed two well aimed strikes to his ribs then grappled him down into a choke hold. Shadow tapped out after a few seconds knowing his fate, "You've gotten better." Trax helped him, "I practice, a lot." He replied with a wink, "Indeed." Shadow humphed.

 

Hazel glanced around, "No,.... This is... Different, darker."

 

"Will all Circle Members please report to the Arch Mages office immediately, Shadow included." Lunas voice sounded throughout the school.

 

"Yes that will do." Tia agreed with a slight nod. "With Caesar and Laxus there we should have no trouble from them, whoever is available will go to assist with the Demons." Luna looked up, "I was able to find Caesar, he'll be here soon." Tia nodded, "And what of Flint?" Luna went grim, "I... can only get traces of his magic aura, but his whereabouts are unknown."

Soul looked up as the announcement came and stood. "Looks like like I'm needed elsewhere. Keep practicing, we'll continue when I return." Kane nodded as the words on the ground disappeared. 

 

Blade sealed away the stone and put his note away in his pack. "Guess I'll have to finish later." He said turning to leave. "Don't party too hard, guys." He said with a wink to Silverthorn. "Shut up!" She shouted back. 

 

"When this is dealt with we'll make finding him a priority. He could be in danger." Twilight said. "Thank you for bringing this to our attention, Captain. We trust that you'll deal with Nergal appropriately." She said to Moonshield.
