MLP/Halo: Rising Rebellion

Raining lead, cracking bullets, firing drums. All these mixed into the burning cocktail that was the painful world Sol was in. Adding onto the constant heartbeat pounding in her ears from her terribly wounded body. Red was that color at the time, the flavor of the month if you would. As all she could see was her own blood adding to the canvas that was her armor.

Sol felt herself move, somebody moved her. She couldn't tell exactly where but knew it was indoors. She felt concrete on her back and stone on the floor, cold and hard unlike herself who was way too warm for comfort. Perhaps it was the constant adrenaline pumping through her that caused this? Does adrenaline make you feel hotter? It sure felt like it.

Muffled noises, not the thundering of the war weapons of her comrades. Too soft..... No it was speech. She was being spoken too at the moment. Not that she could make out the words besides muffled qualms and participles that sounded like she had cotton in her ears.

Time passes, brass shells drop around her. 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8~ a pang of pain scratched through her senses. That feeling of a head rush. Much like a drug but only dosed from one source. Her life support in her suit.

Suddenly everything ripped around her. A flash of light in the darkness that could only be deacribed as a bolt from the heavens! Crack!!!! Boom!!!!

Sol gave a loud gasp and felt her lungs fill with crisp air, then a flood of smoke that made her nearly cough. The sudden beeping and the flashing of her hud brought her senses screaming back like a roller coaster coming to the end of its ride.

"Life systems critical, warning!!! Health low!!! Seek medical aid!! Health stim activated!!!" Her system crackled. And just like that she felt a high like none other. The feeling of her suit providing its last resort injection of a healing stim that couldn't be rivaled. It didn't stop her bleeding but it began healing the most critical of wounds it could.

She was lucky enough to survive long enough for the system to kick in. Feeling strength returning to her and her agonizing pain dulling with the high she was capable of rolling to her knees.

Placing her hands on the wall and floor she steadied herself and with a hard push she forced herself to her feet. Stumbling back as she coughed and hacked a bit.

Now she was in a lot of pain, her body was torn to shreds by the plasma barrage she recieved earlier. However her armor gave its very expensive dose of life support and she wouldn't be getting anymore. This though made her capable of fighting again for a short while. At least long enough so she could help Finnish the mission.

Afted rebalancing herself she peered around. Holding her side with her right hand. The unsc forces were clearing out the square and she seemed to be in a building that the Spartan ally had brought her to.

Sol tried to speak but to her horror her voice didn't come. She tried again but no avail!! She brought her left hand to her throat and that's when she realized. Her vocal chords took a shot. A nasty burn resided where she was hit, the skin mending and coagulating the blood due to the stim.

Frowning, she shook that off. She had to help before her life support died. Reaching to her right holster she grabbed her magnum. Her second having lost in the beginning of the mission. She drew the weapon and cocked it before taking cover and checking for targets.

She didn't acknowledge the fellow Spartan nearby and aimed over his shoulder. Firing a shot over it, the shot killing a enemy infantry that had kept his head up for too long.

Sky was insanely glad, his mind starting to clear a little with the knowledge that he didn't need to rush into bullets again. After a minute, he heard the sound of ships, at least a dozen. He stuck his head over, watching as the miniguns tore thorough EVERYTHING, the town square being demolished by minigun fire, but the gunfire did die down for a little, then the smoke came.

Pulling the SAW off his back, he held it ready.

"Thanks for the support overwatch. From last knowledge Spartan Sol Nova was in critical condition, but i have no idea if she is alive or not. Square will be clear soon, Delta out" He says, then, gets up, leaping over the Warthog. He quickly sprinted, his helmet showing him the path through the smoke. He sprinted for the nearest building, barging straight through the door. He realized that this time he would be dodging friendly bullets to, but he didn't care, to much. Sprinting up the stairs, he didn't meet any resistance, though once he got up them and around the corner, gunfire rippled out, making Sky quickly backstep into the staircase. Swearing, realizing he was in a gunfight, he poked his head around the corner, counting four hostiles, all four firing automatic weapons at him. He knew his shield could absorb a couple rounds, but with how many they were firing, he would be lucky if he got even close to them.

Well, here goes

He aimed around the corner, firing four three round bursts, each one hitting there mark, the four helping as rounds tore through their armor, though they weren't out yet. All four got up, continuing to fire, Sky returning it, this time taking each of their heads. He was about to move when he heard foot steps from both sides, and then gunfire. He was gussing an additional four hostiles on both side. Sky groaned, hating firefights. He rathered being close, not in a fight like this... Sighing, he hoped the others were doing okay as he started to exchange fire with them, quickly taking down two of them with a couple bursts.

(Applogises for the lack of posting, University work has been a nightmare)

The pelicans had provided enough cover, and the first 2 landed. Inside where medical teams, and the smoke cover was more than enough for wounded Marines and ODST's to start moving towards them. "Spartan Sol Nova, report to Pelican Dropship 2-1A for medical treatment effective immedially" came the call over the Spartans commication line, plus a waypoint directing her to the first Pelican.

Back inside the building, it was slowly resolving from an organised firefight into a battered free for all with the Rebels on the losing side. The Humans and Elites that comprised the Rebels were being gunned down by Sky on one side, and several ODST teams on the other, leaving the Rebels no choice but to go down guns blazing. The Elites fought with the aggression they had always, and died what could be seen as a warriors death, weapon in hand. And some humans did. Others tried to surrender, only to be gunned down by the ODST teams that were clearing the building.

Inside, the team of ODSTs located them. Rebels had tried to flee, but only cornered themselves. Weaponless, they cowarded before the Special Operation Troops. One of the ODST's signalled Sky, requesting the Spartan join them. Once he arrived, the Squad Leader would turn to him, a soft gentle female voice coming out from the black helmet "Spartan..." her voice was filled with content, as would most ODST's "No one escaped on your end correct?"

Sky flipped, dogging a round of gunfire, landing and quickly firing off the last two shots he had, taking out the last rebel. He sighed in relief, glad that the firefight was over. Building was cleared, the gunfire was slowly stopping. It seemed that everything was finally about to be fixed.

Once Sky arrived, he was pretty exausted, and despite having shields, his armor looked a little dirty. Getting blown out of a building does that to you. He nodded, taking his helmet off.

"There KIA, and i can see you flushed your side well. Thanks for the help, that gunfight would have gone on for a lot longer then needed if you hadn't showed up"

The ODST nodded her head, and snapped her fingers once. The ODST's around the room opened fired on the surrendering rebel forces, turning the walls and floor red in a brutal painting as nearly 20 people died within 5 seconds, the ODST leader not even batting an eyelid under her helmet as she escorts the Spartan, and her men, out of the room, casually throwing a ignition grenade behind her, the room going up in flames.

"On the Brightside" she says, her voice sounding like a young 15 year old girl at high school, not someone who ordered the execution of over a dozen unarmed prisoners "Less paperwork..."

Sky watched as the soldiers execute the rebels. He winced as the rounds went out, watching the wall turn red. He wasn't the kind to like to execute like that... but he knew that it was necessary. As they walked out, and the grenade went out, he put his helmet on, his shields cracking back on.

"Less paperwork sounds good... But honestly i just want to get off this hell hole. Iv seen enough weird stuff for one day"

The ODST laughs as they exit the building "A Spartan is quitting early? How cute" Chuckles could be heard from the rest of the ODST's "Head out and take a good nap, leave this to the real soldiers" the ODST's headed in a different direction, marching into a different building weapons raised, vanishing from Sky's radar instantly.

The medics quickly moved towards Sol, coaxing her onto a medical bed where over a dozen machines lighted up instantly, applying painkillers into her bloodstream to reduce the pain the medics assumed she was in. One of them, a short male with blue eyes, walked next to the Spartan.

"Miss Sol Nova? If you don't mind, can I ask you a few questions? It's about your condition, and anything we have may help accelerate the healing of your wounds"

Out in the courtyard, Staff-Sergeant Cryie watched the Spartan come back out of the building. She knew it was to be expected, after all, they were super-humans in many ways. Walking over to the Spartan, she gave him a quick salute "Sir, the Pelicans have landed and that other Spartan is on the medical one...I know it isn't my place sir, but we're missing a Medical Pelican. Command said they were sending 4, but only 3 ever arrived..."

Sky? Quitting? He laughed a little at that, staring at her and her men. He let it go, knowing that the ODST's were happy with him leaving early. He knew his job wasn't done yet, but he was begging he would at least get away from all this.... chaos. Once they left his radar, he left the building, walking out the door this time. He headed over to the Sergeant, looking at her.

After she spoke, he sighed, nodding.

"Theres a pelican missing Overwatch, any idea where to look?"

Sky sighed, looking around, only seeing three of the pelicans. He didn't know where the fourth was.

"The Staff Sergeant tells me that one of the four pelicans is missing, and looking around i can't see it. Where are they located?" He asks, taking the Saw off his back, handing it back to the woman who had given it to him. He nodded, appriciating the rifle. It had gotten him out of that fight easier then most weapons would.

"Delta I've got no idea what you're talking about. I'm looking at my IFF screen and I see 4 Pelican drop ships at the town square...Delta I need a confirmation. I need you to tell me the I.D numbers of the Pelicans. I can cross-reference these IFF codes with the one on my screen and track flight patterns, i'll be able to locate your missing bird over"

Sky looked around, getting the IFFS. He looked at one, scannign the IFF, then proceeded to get the three IFF's.

"5612PL Angels Grace, 5519RZ Red Streak, and 8871KB, Shooting Star"  He says, scanning the three pelicans for their codes. He was really hoping that something... wierd haden't happened. This place was getting creepier by the minute.

"Shooting star...Angels Grace, Red Streak....W-wait...then. Ok so you're missing bird is Pelican Restration 2DJ85L, calling code 'Chariot'...It's a medical bird, used...to transmit a wounded ODST prisoner from the abandoned ONI research facility...Hold for a minute Delta..."

"Sir" Interupts Cryie "What's wrong? Why are we missing a bird?"

To transport a ODST?  Sky swore, it was the ODST they had saved from that compound. He was worried, she had been in pretty bad shape. He looked around, they had said there was four IFF's, but their was only three IFFs here. He was confused as of why. then remembered something.

"Theres a MAC Fuel line somewhere, its been here since this planet had been glassed, see if the bird has gone that way. Im going to search around for any sign of why the IFF tag is here" He responds, looking around. He turned to the Sarge.

"The bird carrying a rescued ODST is missing, though the IFF shows it here, mind helping me find out why?" He asks, starting to look around for any trace. He really didn't know to much about how a Pelican was systemed, but he was guessing that their might be something like a transponder under some ruble or something.

"Copy that Delta...We're taking a look at the birds flightpath, something isn't right here. Give us a moment..."

Cryie raised an eyebrow, placing her SAW onto her back. "You're saying we've got an invisible Pelican? Well, lets have a look..." The Sergeant starting laughing seeing the Spartan check rubble "S-ir..a-are you ok...? You know they won't be in the rubble right? If whoever hid this pelican knew their stuff, then you're looking in the total wrong place..."

The sound of steps echoed behind them. Sol had been patched up with quick work from the medics and was assigned to be transported home however she wouldn't leave without checking on sky. Her head was bandaged and she seemed roughed up but able to walk.

Sky stopped looking around, staring at the Staff Sergeant, and if she could see his face, he was a little... unhumoured by that little comment. He shrugged it past, just like the rocket, going back to searching.

"We can't see the Pelican, but doesn't mean that the IFF signal isn't under one of these" He said, then turned around once he heard footsteps approaching. He got up, looking at who it was, and was shocked to see Nova, bandaged, and from what it looked like, pretty hurt. He walked over, taking his helmet off.

"Hey Nova, you alright? Heard you got wounded pretty bad"

The Staff-Sergeant simply laughed more at the Spartan, before noticing Sol, and gasping at the other Spartans injuries, and walking away to give the Spartans some privacy.

Sol watched him and blinked before trying to speak but only a squeak came out. She winced and rubbed her throat. The medics said she had taken a shot to the vocal chords. She frowned and looked sad.

Sky's heart broke when he heard the squeak. He didn't know what had happened, though from that sound, he guessed that she had some throat injury, he didn't know from what. He walked over to her, putting a hand on her shoulder.

"Im so sorry.... i shouldn't have left you alone... Im glad your alive" He says, putting a smile on his face, trying to find a plus side to this.

She gave a weak smile and a small dismissive wave of her hand to try and console him somewhat. It wasn't his fault. It was all hers. She was a loose cannon and she wouldn't be surprised if she got discharged or worse after everyone gave Their review of her preformance.

She then gave him a hug!  Patting his back before retracting and smiling. Then a salute to him.

Cryie watched the Spartans interact, walking over with a piece of equipment in her hands "Found it. I know vehicles, and this is a beauty! I mean, they managed to over-right this pelican's IFF with a duo code system, meaning that one of our pelicans is actually sending out 2 IFF codes. So whoever did this really knows their stuff, I mean, i'm impressed as all..." The Staff-Sergeant realized far too late how serious the situation was on the faces of the Spartans, and slowly slunk away.

Sky hurt as he looked at her, unable to speak. She had fought well, reckless, but well. He felt really bad about how injured she had gotten, then, suddenly she hugged him. He was shocked, not really used to people really doing this, he normally didn't work with people. He patted her back before she let go, saluting him.

"Glad your going to be alright, your pretty tough, and a gre-" He was saying, then got cut off when the Sergeant walked over, talking about how she had found the source. He listened, even though Cryie had come at the worst possible time. He sighed, putting his helmet back on.

"We found the cause of the problem. They rigged one of our Pelicans to send out two IFF signals, hope that helps us find our missing bird" He said, sighing. He set his visor to clear, so that his face could be seen by Nova. He smiled at her, a little annoyed that a bird was missing, but glad that soon, this would be over and done with.

Sol gave a weak smile to him after everything took place. She gave a small wave to him and turned to leave. It was going to more than likely the last time since she would most likely be deemed unfit for duty with her wounds and her mental state.
