Character Summary: An alicorn born and left to fend for herself in the Badlands. She has hazy memories of her parents from when she was very young, but cannot recall anything significant. She could not even tell you what they looked like, just her impressions of them. Leonarrie's first home was set in the dark woods that dominate the Badlands, not far from a rather nasty black dragon's lair. She assumed it had been her parents', as very basic supplies had been left behind, and a small forge was set very near the residence. No traces of weaponry remained, however, aside from a plumed golden helm and a shortsword engraved with the word "Leo."

For a few years all Leonarrie did was survive, learning what was and was not good to eat from the forest and spending many a night cold and ill by the fire pit when she chose something less than agreeable to consume. She lived every day in terror of the beast that resided nearby, though she had only seen it once. On that day the filly had stood petrified in a clearing as the great monster emerged from the trees opposite and spotted her, obviously hunting for something. It considered the miniscule alicorn for only a moment, muttering a word that sounded like "Narrie" in its guttural tongue before continuing on through the forest and ignoring the non-existent threat the little pony posed. As the young creature had no name that she could remember, she combined Leo and Narrie into a title she thought was fitting of her miserable situation.

She always assumed this was a trial set forth by her father, whom she later guessed to be a former member of the Royal Guard judging by the abandoned helmet and blade. She had left those behind when she was finally confident enough to leave her home of solitude, but had always been curious about them. It seems her fascination carried over to new towns she encountered on her journey to find a new home. It took her many years, but she came to reside for a short while in a Royal Army training town, where ponies were proud to have their foals train to one day be valiant soldiers. As Leo had had no instruction in magic or flight beyond what she had discovered herself, she labored to join the academy there and was admitted after arduous consideration.

Her cutie mark appeared on the final day of her training exams, when she far surpassed her fellow ponies in both combat prowess and strategic insight. She knew she could lead, that she could become something worthy of praise. But that same insight told her that this was not the time, nor the place. To the anger of those who had taken her in and taught her her martial skills, she left to see more of Equestria, and possibly find a clue to her forgotten parents. She has never felt the urge to return to the Badlands, and has actually taken a keen liking to oceanic locations when possible. She is fully aware of what her cutie mark means, and knows that she will recognize the time to rise to its symbolism when it comes.
