Closing the Blog

Hello everybody, I'm updating to announce this blog will no longer be updated and I will be using a Tumblr account in it's place. This is mainly to help get word around to a broader audience than a single forum. This tumblr page will be updated daily in smaller amounts, and will be recapping most of the stuff already covered in this blog along with brand new material not covered. It will also act as an ask a pony blog, with Beanseh slowly leaking out information until the game's release. If yo

Gameplay Mechanics: Flying, Raging, and Heroic Wind

So the game's been coming along all much faster than usual, and over the last 3 days, I've completed 4 characters, and finished half of a brand new one over the course of 4 hours. Because of this, I might be in the Alpha stage much sooner than expected, once I complete every character, design their rune system and get enough music to begin development. Who knows, I might have beta testing as early as mid-July! 1 - Rainbow Dash's Fly Ability Earlier versions of Rainbow Dash had so choosing the

Gameplay Mechanics: Applejack Combo

Along with Pinkie Pie, Applejack has also proven to be problematic. However, her problem was the exact opposite, she was just so level headed and straight foward it proved difficult to come up with a good move set for her out side of one move does 100 damage, the other does 120. All she had going for her was high HP, attack and defense stats, and honestly wasn't that fun to use. Finally, I've found the solution. She is now a momentum character. When she attacks, the number 2 appears on her p

Gameplay Mechanics: Pinkie Slots

Of all the characters, Pinkie Pie has probably been the most problematic of them all. This is due to her random nature, something that just took me a while to figure out how to recreate. I considered giving her a list of moves that would alternate randomly, but then it just made her seem unreliable and useless, since it would be impossible to plan a strategy around her. I also considered giving her a large moveset, but that made her too powerful, good for any occasion, along with eliminating

Original Character: Conductor

When I first started developement, one of the first things I decided to do is use OC's for most of the supporting cast, allies and enemies. This was because I wanted to tell a story, without rehashing old ideas already done before. To start off the OC entries, I'm going with the Conductor, the first encountered in the game. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------*The Conductor's Sprite is outdated and will be replaced later during development

Characters (Gameplay Mechanics)

The game will feature 21 playable characters, all of which will have unique abilities to help the player succeed. These abilities include: Twilight's wide range of skills Rainbow Dash's flying Pinkie Pie's attack command has random effects Fluttershy's ability to summon beasts and much more... Some characters have proven to be, problematic, due to constraints of the RPG 2003 engine. Because of this, certain abilities might have to be removed, such as: Derpy using 2 items in one turn and the CMC

The World Map

So I'm currently working on a game, using the RPG Maker 2003 engine. It's coming along nicely but I'm still in the pre-alpha stage. The battle system still has a few bugs in it and the skill shop will take some time to program for every character. So I'd like to share, if anyone's interested the finished design for the world map. Note: the game will primarily take place in the Griffin Kingdom, however Ponyville and Canterlot will appear. While development has been slow (considering I have a o
