My suggestion is to expand the canvas above and below the cross and place any text above and if need be, below. You don't want it over the cross (or her of course). This way you can set it to appear as a standard poster dimension, which has a 3:4 ratio. Also to avoid the artifacts and because it is a vector based image, I would save online copies as a 24-bit PNG with alpha transparency instead of a JPG.
