    Metal maker was amazed that Sivler and Tilly appeared out of thin air, but he realized silver was a unicorn of some power. He didin;t notice they had taken an oil can with them by mistake. He led them to an abandoned stable on the edge of ponyville and left them there to try and find Twilight sparkle, a noted magic user in the town. As he recalled she lived in a library so he looked for a building with ah sign saying library or something. He soon found a tree with a book sign nearby so he knocked on the door. He mentally prepared himself for how he would explain Silver and Tilly's conditionand the need for her help. His hopes were dashed however, as he saw a sign saying Twilight and Spike (?) were away at canterlot. He blew a sigh of of frustration, not knowing how close Twilight was with the Princess, With out her magical assistance or reference, he was at a loss, Not one to give up easily, he broke into the library and searched shelves for anything about inter dimensional magic. He found one book ( well stocked library!) on the subject but without Twilight's help, he was still nowhere nearer to getting the two home. He kept the book in his saddle bag in the event that someone magical could use it and hurried back to the stable. There he told the tale to the two interdimensional visitors. "Say Silver, you have considerable magic of your own, Could reading this book make it any easier for you two to get home?"

    Metal Maker had heard the whistle and guessed correctly that thetwo were in the locomotive., He ran there anad old them of his suspicions of Larry. They had to run while they could Their only chance was in Ponyville in an abandoned livery stabll that everyone had forgotten about about,. He urged them off the train and toward Ponyville. Telling them the location of the stable. He waited to have a chance to face Larry before he hunted for Twilight Sparkle He grabbed a can of oil just in case. OOC: Moio, I already had them off the train, but alerting Larry was a good piece of stroiy telling. I am ammending my story as well.

    Metal Maker, was surprised to hear Applejack talk so glowingly about miss Sparkle, he had to find out where she lived. But that was for another pony to ask and another time. He relished the thought of meeting more of the heroines of Equestria when this was over. He saw that Applejack was puckered for a kiss and since it had been awhile since had kissed anypony, he moved in and placed a delicate but warm kiss on her lips, It only lasted a few seconds, but it seemed like an hour to him. He was smitten to put it mildly, though he knew ii was only a contest to sell apples. She could have no truck with a traveler of Equestria. her home was at the orchard and a lovely filly like her must have a special someepony. When finished, he sighed and said Thank you Miss Apple for that wonderful experience. If you ever repeat it, I shall be sure to come this way again. With that said, he walked over to collect his apples and let the next pony come forward for a most enjoyable experience. Then he remembered it was the upset Bon Bon and he hoped that somehow a kiss of her own from AJ would hep with the healing process. He himself could do no more than hope.

    Miss Applejack, My name is Metal Maker or Double M to my friends. I 'm a traveling blacksmith, who is in ponyvulie for a spell. I'd just like to say it is a priviledge and an honor to meet one of the heroines of Equestria. I am quite taken by the tales of your brave exploits, which I hear everywhere. I never thought I would meet you in person, like this. With that he made a stately bow . Ah, to business, I;d like two bushels of good eating apples for my next trip and I hear these are the best in Equestria. With that he bowed again to AJ and placed ten bits from his saddlebag on the counter as he arose.

    Metal Maker was so engrossed in how to ask Twilight Sparkle about how to help his friends, that he didn't notice the time it took to approach Ponyville. He was shaken from hiss reverie of ideas when the train slowly came to a stop. There was no announcement of Ponyille as Next Station and the conductors seemed as puzzled as the passengers. Smelling something amiss, he stepped outside and looked down the track. There was Larry's train on a siding, like it was waiting for a train to pass, but the train he was supposedly waiting for had come to a stop before the siding. He trotted up to the engineer and found that they were confused by the freight train sitting when it should have gone past before they got there. He was surprised to see a telegraph key in the cab, which told of track conditions. They must have stopped to help the seemingly stalled freight train. Double M did not like the idea of the train with his friends on it sitting outside Ponyville when help was only a mile away. Something was amiss and he was not taking any chances. He trotted over to the other train and looked in the baggage cars ;they were EMPTY! Being a logical pony, he thought it through. If the train had been stopped by royal guards, the engineer would have been taken and the train impounded. It obviously wasn;t so there was a more nefarious answer, Larry had plans of his own. Metal maker quickly searched the remaining boxcars to no avail, Then he tried the cab of the engine, There were Tilly and Silver He sighed relieif at seeing them unharmed. When they related their tale of Larry's performance, Double M decided it was best to abandon the train and run to Ponyville and relative safety.. When they got there, he he hid them in an abandoned livery stable, only he knew about and then left them to find the library and Miss Sparkle

    Metal Maker could not believe the kiss that the normally nervous Earth Writer had placed on Applejack. He had some nerve control, did that one. He also noticed there were only two ponies ahead of him.soon, be thought and the wait would be over. He didn;t recognize the pony in the front of the line, but he seemed nice enough. Maybe they;d meet after the apple purchase. He Heard more than saw the little filly he tried to console about the stolen kiss and sadly realized that the issue went far deeper than he could understand enough to help; It was an issue of trust; slowly gained and once lost, hard to recover. He only hoped their young hearts were resilient enough. They looked wonderful together He gave a heavy sigh in sympathy for their plight, but again, said nothing. It would have to work itself out.He also saw Applebloom walk by the line and gave her a friendly hoof wave. They didn';t know each other, but it was a neighborly thing yo do. He whispered to Thorn, "We're nearly there, how many bushels are you getting ,Thorn?" Just to make conversation.

    Double M was fascinated by Pathfinders non-stop monologue or perhaps is was a dialog as Apple Bloom ( Applejacks sister after all) had gotten a few words in. She hoped Applejack was not too far away as the thought of a youngster like her with a fan obsessed adventurer, who may have lived these adventures in her mind, for all he could tell, was discouraging at best and frightening at the worst. And what was with that Gemstone? It seemed to have a mind ( and voice of some kind) of its own. Probably a bauble she had picked up on one of her "adventures" He pitied Applejack trying to get her to close her mouth long enough for a kiss, much less a breath.He had seen some intrepid fans of Rainbow Dash and others on his travels but they paled to insigninifignce next to Pathfinder. He almost forgot Opal Shards, who was fliting with MYthos. Or perhaps toying with him for her own amusement. The latter seemed closer to fact. He was glad the line was moving, or would if Pathfinder would finally run down, but he was missing some fascinating people, like Misty Morning, Rarity herself, and others. His main concern now, however was impressionable AppleBloom.. He wanted to talk some sense into her, but after his disastrous attempt with Bon Bon, he would keep his own counsel. Didi that costumed know it all ever stop talking?

    Metal Maker was close enough in line to see and hear Pathfinder go on and on and then just grab Applejacks stetson. How Rude! The pony seemed to be up on something as she didn;t stop talking. No way to get a kiss that way. He also noticed that Appejack was so flustered she put her younger (sister?) up to to talk to the non stop pony, while she pretended to check on the apple supply. He could empathize with her. This could make the line stop for awhile. He was glad to see Earth Writer try and talk her into a different direction. She was obviously a full fledged fan of Daring Doo ;but over the top as they say. He could only sigh and hope she would wind down and just but her apples. Looking back he say Opal Shards putting on airs for an unknown stallion. He had a few words for her after he was finished that would take her down a peg. Or so he hoped.

    If the discussion is limited to the three episodes, I would have to go with "Cutie mark chronicles" as it ties together all the ponies before they even met. Can;t get much better than that!

    Metal Maker was 1/2 distracted by the sight of Carrot Cake and his daughter, a unicorn. Unicorns usually came from Unicorn parents, which Carrot Cake was not..Puzzling. He answered Thorn about the writing horseshoe and promised to get on it that day. With so many interesting ponies in the line, He wasn't sure what to do first. He mulled over his strategy as he waited for a kiss and some delicious apples. He heard Pathfinder speaking and realized her mind was elsewhere also.

    As he predicted, the royal guards were all over him with questions: Did he know them, how had he come to look out and see at just the right time, and other questions along the same lines. He even saw the guard he had knocked out stumbling around asking where his armor was. Luckily Double M had gotten him from behind so he could say that the silver one had ambushed him to blend in with the crowd by wearing royal armor. He had never lied so much and so convincingly in his life but they wallowed it because it made sense. When asked why he didn;t chase after them, he just said he thought they were dangerous, otherwise why were the royal guards after them. he was a muscular pony but no hero. Finaly they left him alone and questioned other ponies in the station. Metal Maker quietly went to his train to Ponyville and settled in for the long trip. He only hoped Larry had gotten a good head start. He had arranged to meet then just outside Ponyville and try to convince Twilight Sparkle to try her magic to help them. Problem,was, he had never met the heroine of Equestria and had to come up with a good story quick. He mulled over his options as the train pulled out. How to put it delicatly that the runaways were actually from another dimension and transformed at that. His head hurt as he tried as he tried various stories and rejected or modified them.

    Double M had excellent hearing, the better to tell when a piece of metal was ready to be worked by it;s ringing sound.He heard the exchange Applebloom and wondered again at childlsh innocence and freedom to speak their mind. She just might be the tonic that Bon Bon needed to heal her heart and save the romance.. Sometimes he wished for the innocence of childhood, but knew from experience about the consequences of seemingly childish questions and responses.. He also overheard Opal shards and her condesending tone to the newcomer at he end of the line. He decided that meeting her, canterlot or no, would be a futile effort. The chip on her shoulder was big enough to kill a small animal. He was surprised to see a Wonderbolt out of uniform and wanted to get Misty Morning's autograph Before she wandered off also. He had never met a wonderbolt and the story he could get would be both personally and profesionially fascinating on the trail. He didn;t mean to listen in on conversations but they seemed to have no problem talking about each other, some in less than friendly terms. He wondered again about the odd line of ponies and how he would feel if someone asked about HIM. The then realized that Earth Writer had spoken to him and he shook his head to clear it. One custom pen holder horseshoe coming up. If I had my sketch pad, I could draw up some samples for you to look at. Please see me before you leave after the apple purchase and we can certainly do business. In the meantime,I think the one called Pathfinder is trying to talk to you.

    Double M heard about a new use for horseshoes and was intriiged. A Horseshoe that held a pen. That was no problem for him. He had made custom shoes to hold balls of yarn, hold tools, and even copied his own idea of a hoof mounted hammer to another traveling craftsman. Well Sir, I would be glad to make up something like that. Let me make a drawing of it and get your approval. Would you like a complete set of new shoes? One shiny one might look odd .Say, what is your name, please?

    Double M took Thorn's advice to heart; he was not the most romantic of stallions and in hindsight, hardly one to give love advice. Whatever had happened went far beyond a simple kiss to another mare. He also took the order for new horseshoes from Thorn, as a sign of good business here in Ponyville. He was as stunned anyone to see Cherry Jubilee plant such a passionate kiss on Applejack. They must know each other well, he thought for that to happen. TO be sure their were both orchard folk, but there was something more. Also he was amazed at the order for 100 barrels of apples. He hoped they didn;t tun out before he got there, He was surprised at the size of the order as Appalossa wasn;t much further from Dodge Junction, until he remembered that it was a new town with a new orchard and probably had few apples for sale; Their apple pies, however, were wonderful and he looked forward to his next trip that way, And, speaking of Cherry, of course the kiss in the bargain. He even appreciated Cheery's help with the cost of the apples. Clearly a good business woman. Again, worthy of a visit to Dodge when he left Ponyville He also noticed a newcomer to the line. A white pegasus with beautiful wings. She couldn't be from around here; she had an elegant look to her that spoke of Canterlot of at least Manehattan. She was also the only mare wearing a dress and sun hat; very formal for a visit to Ponyville. While not as sophisicated as those "upper crust" ponies, he would at least say hello before he departed the line to show that not all of Ponyville was so rustic; as he was sure she was thinking, In the mean time, he counted up the ponies ahead of him again and day dreamed about kissing a heroine and a lovely one at that.

    Metal Maker was disappointed that his attempt to patch things up with Bon Bon and Lyra had failed. Their problems went deeper than a simple kiss from apple jack. We wisely decided to keep his own counsel when something like that occurred. He was too protective by nature and it had backfired on him. Heaving a heavy sigh, he patiently waited in line and wondering about the green stranger who had made a bargain to buy apples later. he also astounded by Cheery Jubilee, who had ordered 100 barrels of apple.. Good thing she lived in Dodge Junction so there wouldn't be a competition with Sweet Apple acres He only hoped there were enough left to let him get his 2 bushels. As he looked on, he saw more interesting ponies in line than his expected. Thorn was a handsome donkey, far from the usual working ones he saw on the trail. He looked again at Pathfinder, and her amazing resemblance to Daring Doo. He had discovered that the pony behind here was Earth Writer. He looked forward to meeting him also as he was a voracious reader and meeting an author was a rare ocurence. He only wished his own life was more interesting. No one would buy a book on a traveling blacksmith unicorn.. He looked around Ponyville and saw handymen but no blacksmith shop from this vantage point. Perhaps he could set up shop here and stay a spell. Maybe even meet a mare he liked. Truth be told, he was getting tired of the traveling life. Every pony needed new horseshoes, eventually and with his talented skill, he would be assured a constant flow of customers. The thought raised his spirits after is misguided advice to Bon Bon., Well, not much to do, but wait for the line to move and wait for Thorn to answer his question about new horseshoes

    Double M saw Applebloom talking to miss Cherry Jubilee and geting quicky annoyed. He wondered what they were talking about. Then he saw that Applebloom had no cutie mark. I must be a discussion she had heard many times about the time being right and was tired of hearing it again, He did hear her mention various fruits he had only heard of, though.He made it a point to travel to Dodge junction and sample Miss Cherri';es variety He was surprised to find BonBon dump a pail of water on Lyra. it did not look like she was trying to revive her but punish her. The Little filly with the muti colored mane was the jealous type and needed some perspective, he gathered her in as she ran away and tried to comfort her. She had also got some advice from am disticntive pony at the back of the line Probably calming her fears. he also saw her hide form Lyra when she came by. Not the best advice, he thought. They needed to reconnect ASAP. As Bon Bon walked up the line, Metal maker asked her to stop and get some more practical advice ( or so he thought) I say Bob Bon, what has you so upset about a simple kiss from AJ when it's all to sell apples?. I am sure Lyra still loves you and is probably searching for you right now. If I wouldn't lose my place in line, I;d go searching for her with you, I know you two are a couple and love is sometimes hard, but give her another chance. I am sure she still loves you and was only wearing that silly disquise to make you think she wasnt being nice to another pony. Apple Jack is a hero of Equestia, you know and many of us want to kiss her for that reason alone, I know I do. He then gave her a big brother hug and shooed her off in the direction he had seen Lyra go looking. Somehow, things would work out, The two of them loved each other too much to let one little kiss break them up . Then he remembered Thorns question and bent down to examine his hooves, Sure enough, he found stones wedged into a set of poorly fitted horseshoes,. I can make these new ones so comfortable, you wonlt know you;re waring them. After we get our apples, you are welcome to come to my wagon for a free measurment and a custom pair of shiny new shoes,

    Metal Maker watched the drama unfold between Mythos and Bon Bon. He knew true love when he saw it and Bpn Bon and the disguised Lyra were defintley a pair. He admired the fancy ponie's attempts to cheer her up and only wished he could have done the same. In the meantime, he looked around and saw Pathfinder, he thought her name was, and the writer having an interesting discussion. He didn't like eavesdroping but they were speaking loud enough for everyone to hear. A lot of ponies to meet after the apple buying was all over. With the oderiferous Pigpen now smelling like fresh flowers (interesting soap), waiting now seemed like a much better pastime. He asked Thorn and the pony behind him in line, if they had considered new horseshoes. Never hurt to drum up a little business while waiting. He also offered free hoof inspections to any and all in the line He also learned that Cherry was Cherry Jubilee. He recognized the name from his visit to Dodge Junction but had never met the orchard owner. He only wondered how she knew Applejack, especially well enough to know stories about her ;another mystery to unravel, when he had the time. Settling into Ponyville for a spell would give him plenty of stories for the road.

    Metal Maker heard the call of "Ghost"and knew something was up. The guards he had been "helping" ran off without even an goodbye and went storming for the platform. Double M did not believe in ghosts and would think the guards didn't either, but a call for help was never ignored They all assembled on the platform as a train was pulling out. He had to keep them from stopping that train! Suddenly the Hologram image of Tilly and Silver appeared on the land to the side of the depot. Metal Maker saw it and realized that Silver had taken his advice. There they are! They're getting away, he shouted at the cluster of guards. As he pointed one hoof at the 3D image ( how did Silver do that?) The guards looked, and seeing the fugitives seeming to tun into a copse of trees, they moved as one and gave chase. This left the train yard empty of guards and Larry's train free to depart. The pony who had called ghost was lost in the shuffle of ponies waiting for trains to arrive or depart. Double M then stayed on the platform as the crowd ran to look at where he had pointed and he saw the Hologram ( as Silver had described it) Fade away as though they were escaping into the woods. The guards had some ground to cover giving the "running pair" a good head start. He wanted to be on the train, but knew his disappearance would only make the scenario look false. Thinking ahead, he had bought a ticket to the next train to Ponyville and arranged to meet them there after it was all over. His presence made him innocent of any part of a conspiracy and he could answer questions about the two , from the wanted poster he he had read. It would be several minutes while the guards chased after the escapees and he could say he was missing his train before the questioning went too far. For now, he mingled with the crowd talking about horseshoes to calm every pony down and dismissing the idea of ghosts with his calm and resassuring tone and presence,and then getting his wagon onto a boxcar of the next Ponyville train. All looking innocent and normal. He only hoped that Larry's train was fast enough to get out of sight before the guards came back. He wished Tilly and Silver well and hoped that the wanted posters were not all over Equestria already.
