  1. It's so when I ask people for something, they look at my avatar, and are then unable to refuse me, of course.
  2. I actually went back and listened to the song again. I really don't know why, but I loved it this time around. I think the first time I watched it, I wasn't really paying attention to the song in a whole, but more to the rhymes and rhythm, almost completely ignoring the instruments. There was also a lot going on in the scene, so I couldn't really focus on the music. This time around though, I absolutely loved it. I kind of wish it was more catchy though, still. I have all the songs memorized by heart, basically, but this is just a bit to remember. OHWELL.
  3. I would have to say Rarity, honestly. We both have a love for fashion and looking our best. I wouldn't even consider driving out to a drive-through without first taking a shower. She also helps her friends when she can, but also knows its rather important not to forget to be generous to ones self. I tend to help my friends at any turn I can, but I never forget that sometimes you need to make time for yourself. She is a hard worker when she sets her mind to something, and will work late in to the night on a project if need be, showing she has a deep passion for her work. If I ever set my mind to something, it will be done. I don't like leaving things half finished, even if it takes me multiple days of working a chapter of a story, or even a single leg of a drawing, I shall! I'm sure there's more, but you get the gist of it.
  4. Thank you all. I've been hopping around from thread to thread, posting a tad, looking around; I can officially say I love it here It's very nice to meet you all.
  5. It's not really a driving force, it just served as a blockade, as it does for most of us, I'm sure. The driving force is more within himself, and wanting to better himself. But thank you VERY much! It means a lot to me when I get a compliment, no matter how grand or small. I may add a tad more to the story actually.
  6. Art of the Dress is a close second for me actually, simply because it's a Rarity song. Art of the Dress had a brilliant beat to it, and a great rhythm that I kept finding myself humming. At the Gala just had so much POWER behind it. It was the end of the season, the episode we were all waiting for, and the night that the cast had been waiting and preparing for. All of that anticipation was wrapped up into one explosive and satisfying song that obviously took a lot of work. You can simply HEAR the effort in the song.
  7. Roleplay Type: World of Equestria RP Name: Cross-Stitch Sex: Male Age: Stallion Species: Earth Pony Eye Color: Dark Blue Coat Color: Cobalt Blue Mane/Tail/Markings Color & Style: Long, Black, Straight Physique: Smaller than most stallions, Mare-like body Cutie Mark: A spool of pink thread with a heart around it Origin/Residence: Canterlot Occupation: Tailor Motivation: His mother, and his own dreams of becoming a well known designer. Likes: Fashion, Food, and Art Dislikes: Being interrupted, Poor fashion sense, Distractions whilst he works Character Summary: Cross Stitch was a pony born and raised in the city of Canterlot by his mother and father. His father though was a traveling artist who would paint beautiful landscapes of far off lands. Cross Stitch would often receive many paintings his father had created in the mail. Because of his fathers unfortunate absence, Cross Stitch spent a lot of time with his mother at home. His mother had a hobby that she worked on every day, cross stitching. She would sew wonderful pictures and sayings that were hung up throughout their home. Cross Stitch decided to try this hobby, seeing as it is where he got his name from. He took up the needle quickly, and learned to manipulate it very well for a pony without magic. He would sew wonderful pieces that would rival his mothers, but there was one thing that was always left out of his works, passion. He had no feelings or passion put into the hobby, it always felt like the wrong way to express himself. Cross Stitch carried on though, sewing day after day with his mother. Cross Stitching wasn't the only thing he learned though: He learned to be kind to any and all ponies, regardless of who they seem to be, he learned to always smile, and to always look on the bright side of things. She told him that when he can find a way to express those feelings in his art, then he will become an artist like her and his father. Cross Stitch became determined to find his inner artist and to find a way to express himself correctly. A few years later, Cross Stitch's mother received two tickets to a Fashion Show in Canterlot where Hoity Toity would be showing off the new additions to his "Best of the Best Boutique." Stitch's mom recieved the tickets from a friend who happened to be modeling one of the dresses in the show. Obviously, Cross Stitch's dad was away, so the extra ticket fell to him. There were many fabulous dresses that expressed the designers thoughts and emotions. The dresses made Cross Stitch think of his mothers sewing, and of his fathers paintings where their feelings were expressed. Cross Stitch never even considered clothing as a means of expression. From that day on, Cross Stitch studied fashion. He would always look in the windows of Hoity Toity's boutique, and would read any and all the magazines on latest fashion that he could find. The more he read, the more interested he became. On Hearth's Warming Eve, a year later, Cross Stitch received a present that he would keep to this day. It was a sewing machine that his mother and father had gotten him. All of his knowledge poured out into the machine, and he went straight to work. He caught on quick, and began making his own clothing. The one thing he loved the most though, was a red scarf, the same red scarf that he wears to this day. His mother and father passed on, but Cross Stitch's passion never died. He continued to work, and continued to follow by what his mother told him. He always smiled, he never hated, and he always looked on the bright side. These feelings showed in his clothing as well. His clothes were often very bright and summery, which went on to become what he was known for. His clothing just felt 'happy'. To this day Cross Stitch still runs his shop, which doubles as his house, in Canterlot. His doors are always open to customers, and as you walk by you can always hear the hum of his sewing machine that his mother gave him.
  8. At The Gala. The choir was awesome, and so were all of the solo's for each character. Close second is Winter Wrap Up, also because of the solo's (Rarity should of had one), and also because of the catchy tune. The instrumental version that played at the end of the episode was amazing as well.
  9. Oh MY goodness Nerdy Rainbow Dash made my heart flutter then stop altogeht dsgfA
  10. Just finished watching the episode. Has anyone noticed there are more noticeable and greater flaws in the animation now? At 8:54 -ish Dash skids across the ground in front of the pets, and it looks like they forgot the drop the Duck back a layer. Oh well, I suppose that's a simple mistake to make. Anyways, this episode had me smiling through the whole thing. I was hoping the tortoise would win via Tortoise and the Hare style, but I'm glad they went the way they dad. I assume it was a 127 Hours reference? The song could have been better, but I still liked it; probably won't go to my MP3 player unlike the other songs though. I also like how silly Rainbow was through this episode! The "DUN DUN DUNNNN!" scene literally had me laughing out loud.
  11. Hey, Thoth! I'm pretty new here myself, but that won't stop me from welcoming you! I go by CrossStitch on here, but you can call me Stitch. It's also great to see a fellow writer. Perhaps you could provide a link to one of your stories sometime?
  12. That welcome was so warm, I had to remove my jacket! I can tell I will like it here a lot. It's also nice to see some familiar faces! I never knew Tenkan was a member here.
  13. About myself.: I'm a college student right now, working on a degree in mathematics. I love math and because of that I suppose you could call me a "Logical" person. This carries over into another of my passions: Writing. I love to write, to come up with stories, to create worlds. How did you hear about Canterlot.com?: A friend told me about this site a while ago, I just now decided to visit it. I have no clue what name he goes by on here, I think DJpinkypie. How did you became a fan of FiM?: Like most other brony My one favourite main cast pony?: Miss Rarity Hello, bonjour, aloha, hola, and greetings in every other language to you all! I happened to catch wind of an amazing RP site for ponies from a friend, so I decided to drop by, I hope that's not a problem. A little about myself then: I try to do my part for the Brony community in lots of different ways. I write fanfiction, I draw a little bit, and I'm currently a writer on a team that are producing Pony based animations. Of all things though, writing fanfiction is my favorite activity. I love creating worlds, and stories, and characters. Something that many consider odd about me, is that I love math and crunching numbers. Math to me is a symbol of purity and of logic. In math there's a set way to do things, and doing those set rules always yields a correct answer, if done correctly of course. I don't expect any other ponies to understand. I sure hope I receive a warm welcome. :3
