1. I've sent you the promised PM just now. I hope you don't mind me corresponding through PMs, though...I'd rather not clutter up a thread too much...
2. Excuse me, Monochrome... If/When there's space on your roster of slots, might I trouble you for a request? I'll send a PM in a bit detailing the nature of said request.
3. Heya, just checking in again. How's progress?
4. Just checking in briefly to check stuff...but I have to say, SonicRainboom, that avatar is both cute in looks and terrifying in implication.
5. So long as it looks cool, I'm okay with it.
6. Hey, RainboomGirl, I sent you a PM.
7. hey SonicRainboomGirl...it's me again. Just checking in to see how everything's going. Haven't checked back in a while, so how's it all going so far?
8. Hey, it's me again. Miss RainboomGirl, could you check your PMs real quick? I sent you one just now...
9. Maybe a TINY little bit, but this works just as well, and I like it all the same. Excellent job.
10. Awesome. Gravel's hairstyle IS slightly diffrent, but it's still a wonderful piece. I'll be sure to come to you with future requests, but for now I think I'll just lurk in this thread and admire all the pretty pictures.
11. We're all rooting for you here! But even we know that IRL takes precedence.
12. It's been a while since I asked, and...well, I'm a bit worried! I haven't asked too much of you, have I?
13. ...derp. I've done as requested. Added a paragraph of Dull Gold's flaws, again true to the character he's based on.
14. Made some edits. Slightly de-emphasized Dull's adventuring priority, and added a paragraph about his bond with his family.
15. Made some phrasing edits to Dull Gold's profile, and altered his schtick a bit. Less 'I'm a GUY, why can't you see that?!' and more 'Real stallions crawl dungeons, help people and treat mares with respect!', which fits him better anyway.
16. Do excuse, but are you still taking requests? If so, then I have one for you. I'd like for you, if possible, to draw the three fillies linked below, the Order of the Pearl, seated at a square, wooden table with a map of Equestria on it, perhaps with them looming over the map and attempting to look all serious and stuff. One could even be pointing at symbols on the map. There could be a banner in the background with a kind of 'coat of arms' on it...feel free to make up the symbol so long as it incorporates at least one white dot. Or, if you'd rather do something lighter-hearted with the lot, feel free. Ideas could be them at the same table, playing with a combining toy robot, or playing with wooden toy planes. They're pretty much a band of CMC-esque blank-flanked fillies who try and be serious anyway. :3 If you have any questions about them, feel free to page me, and I'll answer any questions you might have.
17. Roleplay Type: The Mane RP Name: Dull Gold Sex: Male Age: Stallion, though at the younger end of it. Species: Unicorn Eye colour: Red Coat: A kind of very faded yellow Mane/Tail: Black Physique: Dull Gold is known for two things: his physique is one of them. Like most of the stallions in his family, Dull Gold has an extremely feminine build, to the point where it's somewhat difficult to identify him as male until he starts speaking. Residence: While originally from Trottingham, and he still has family there, Dull Gold travels around. He's been seen a few times in Canterlot and Ponyville, too. Occupation: Dull Gold is equal parts adventurer and dress-maker. Unlike other fashion-designers, Gold ONLY does dresses. Cutie Mark: Dull Gold's cutie-mark takes the shape of a black, reinforced horseshoe with two crossed, threaded needles in front of it, showing the duality of what he does. Motivation: Dull Gold wants, more then anything else, to be taken seriously, and for people to think he's as awesome as he considers himself. Likes: Dull Gold is fond of stage-plays, whether he's watching them or acting in them. In fact, he got his start as a dress-maker in this profession. He's also immensely loyal to his friends, stating that the magic of friendship trumps almost anything else. Dislikes: The quickest ways to gain Dull Gold's ire are to insinuate the quality of his work is subpar, or to make fun of his looks. He HATES ponies who do that! History: Dull Gold is the middle son of adventurers Royal Ash, a travelling Unicorn, and Hillstrider, an Earth Pony adventuress. He has two brothers, elder brother Blunt Stone and younger brother Graceful Mint. He and his brothers have inherited his mother's looks. Everyone who knows the family knows as much: only Blunt Stone can kind of pass off as a stallion, Dull Gold and Graceful Mint are almost entirely indistinguishable from mares! While Mint might have a few issues with the regard, Gold doesn't care too much and never let it stop him...although he does get annoyed when people assume he's a mare. Back in school, Dull Gold always felt compelled to join the acting troupe. An excuse to let his ham out and entertain others was something he simply could not pass up. One day, he had his chance: they were auditioning for a role...which turned out to be the role of Princess Glittergem in a local play 'The Tales of Lord Wealthmore'. Gold nonetheless applied, and threw his whole being into the audition, even doing the research on the role to do a better job on-stage, to the point where he made for a more convincing princess them the fillies did! Dull Gold's take on the character has become well-received among fans, and future applicants have started imitating him after he graduated. However, he graduated one day. Having gotten used to being around fancy clothes and dresses, he decided to give the dress-making business a shot. He was making them for himself before, and why keep such things all to oneself? Having some trouble keeping a steady base of operations thanks to a lack of funding, he took to adventuring as well, to gather additional materials for the clothes he makes and slowly build up the bits he needs to open a permanent business. Nowadays, he's still at it. Alternating between visiting towns to perform his business and wandering the dark places of Equestria, he's made something of a name for himself...although he'd appreciate it if people were to start regarding him a bit more favorably. Character Summary: Dull Gold is a serious stallion with a serious face. He takes both of his jobs incredibly seriously, and, despite his somewhat unrefined manner of speaking, can boast of the quality of his work being nearly-impeccable. He is defined by his quest to be taken seriously, as a tailor, as an adventurer and as a stallion of reknown. Dull Gold considers himself born incredibly manly and incredibly awesome, and really wants others to come to share this opinion. He's got the voice down, is immensely strong despite his short stature and feminine build, and will readily claim that being respectful to mares and those younger then yourself is both super-awesome and the height of stallionhood, the very pinnacle of manliness. He'll also state, when his occupation and personal fondness for fancy dresses is called into question, that only the sufficiently awesome can boast of looking as good in their own creations as he does. He's a bit sensitive regarding comments about his maresy looks, though. Despite this...competitive streak, most ponies who know Dull Gold can easily describe him as being incredibly humble and loyal once befriended. He'll go through great lengths to help his friends, or anypony he feels sympathy for, is always available for a conversation or dinner, and, despite his financial issues, has no qualms about treating his friends to things. This is genuine, but it ties back to the aforementioned belief: Dull Gold considers it both super-awesome and incredibly manly to be a good pony, especially to one's friends. He might even smile now and again, a welcome change from the frown he has normally. Those who know him can attest that his drive to be taken seriously is genuine. As the middle child of the family, he was always eclipsed by his older brother's great strength, and his younger brother's immense aptitude for magic. As such, he's become a bit...fixated on earning praise and respect from others, his family chief among them. He hasn't spoken to them in a while, however, owing to his dress-making business having become unexpectedly successful, and adventuring being somewhat time-consuming an endeavor. When asked, he'll say he wants to make his father acknowledge his worth as a stallion, and live up to the standard his mother set as being brave and kind. He takes pride in his dress-making. While it started out as something he did for himself, he's opened up a travelling business, Gold's Dressery, to help spruce up whoever walks into his store. He's notable for fitting and tailoring anyone that walks in, from ponies to griffons to anything else, so long as they don't cause any trouble. His main claim to fame might be his store, he also takes his adventuring seriously. While his business is his primary concern, he genuinely enjoys being in the thick of it, exploring the dark corners of Equestria and delving dungeons, even just to see what he can find there. He'll readily claim it's a hobby he rather enjoys: the thrill of exploring, the rush of fighting dark creatures, the tense feeling when opening treasure boxes...he loves every moment of it, and it helps inspire him at his day-job, too, and it earns him bits and materials to use, to the point where he advertises the new materials if he's had a lucky haul. His dungeon-crawling is far from just his own work, however: tying into his belief, he'll readily help anypony who require things from these places, but lack the strength or fortitude to go very far. After all, what sort of stallion would he be if he simply ignored those in need? However, nobody's perfect. A lifetime of being referred to as a filly or a mare has left Dull Gold with a hair-trigger reflex to such, and he has a bit of a temper issue. He'd never turn his hooves on another pony unless he needs to or the pony in question deserves it, but he has absolutely no problem raising his voice and issuing threats to those who provoke him. In addition to this, he's incredibly insecure regarding his family. He works his tail off to build up a favorable reputation, sure, but he fears that they will still regard him as being nothing special or worse, should he finally head back home. His adventuring, furthermore, has not always turned out favorably, and although he doesn't want to talk about it, mentioning the words 'tar' or 'mine' around him make him extremely nervous. Finally, while Dull Gold considers it his duty as a stallion to help others, he is extremely reluctant to accept the help of others to the point of outright refusal, something which has put him in a rather precarious position in the past. As usual, accepting of suggestions and critiques.
18. I mean no offense, but would somebody add Glitergold to the Accepted Crossovers section? I'd do it myself, but I cannot, so...
19. Made some formatting edits to Glittergold's profile. Nothing substantial, but...you know, ease of reading.
20. I see. ...well, good thing I have Glittergold tagged as Free-for-All and/or Crossover, then.
21. I do wonder...are you still taking requests, Ellison? If so, then I have one for you. I've included a Pony Editor picture of the character I'd like sketched, Glittergold. She also has a profile currently awaiting grading under her name, if you'd like to get a feel of what she's like, and what her Curie Mark looks like. As for the content...well, how about this: Glittergold standing in front of a mirror, using her magic to style her mane into its usual shape, perhaps keeping her little tiara thing and a comb nearby to finish the job. Will that do?
22. In case you still take requests, I'll leave this one here: Username: Raikomaru Pony Name: Glittergold Pony Reference: Image: http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v314/Raikomaru/Graphite-and-Friends/?action=view&current=Glittergold.png Profile(not yet reviewed, might be altered slightly eventually): Clothing Reference: Nope. Eager to see what you could come up with for her. :3
23. Roleplay Type: Free-for-all/Crossover(read note below, though) Name: Glittergold Sex: Female Age: Filly, though nearing the older end of the spectrum. Species: Alicorn Eye colour: Blue Coat: Bright Pink. Also wears gold-plated accessories. Mane/Tail: Black Physique: For an alicorn, Glittergold is somewhat on the toned side. She also has somewhat wide hips and thick thighs. Residence: With some of the wealth accrued on her journey, Glittergold has acquired a Canterlot home for herself. Occupation: Glittergold is an adventurer by claim. She travels the land and explores the darker places in Equestria, and heeds no call other then her own desires. Cutie Mark: Glittergold's Cutie Mark is a trio of polished gold ingots, stacked to form a pyramidal shape. Motivation: Glittergold's motivation is to live a life of luxury and opulent wealth, above all else. Unlike others, she wants to be able to boast of having earned every bit of this wealth, down to the very last coin, under her own power. Likes: Obviously, Glittergold enjoys the sight of gold and other sparkly, valuable things. She also legitimately enjoys her career, and she enjoys helping others with their problems. Combining the two is a great way to grab her attention! In addition to these, she's also inordinately fond of rock candy. Dislikes: While she does like a good sparkly gem now and again, Glittergold believes jewels are highly overrated. One of her main dislikes, however, is those who cannot back up their boasts, or those who complain endlessly, yet refuse to take action to remedy their problems. History: Glittergold, like most Alicorns, has lived in The Palace for most of her life. Surrounded by wealth and trained in the ways of magic, she had a good childhood...until one day. Reading up on the world, she'd learned that, outside the Palace, not all was right. Sure, many ponies lived their lives in comfort, but there were monsters about. Creatures whose only ambition was to make life that much more inconvenient for anyone they met. She also read that not all ponies could enjoy the wealth that she did...and began to wonder if she deserved living among such splendor without having done anything to deserve it. She also began to worry about the palace itself...sure, everything would be okay NOW, but if the alicorns here grew, and developed ambitions and political power, the peace and quiet would certainly be over forever. One day, she announced that she would be leaving the palace's safe, rich halls in favour of a life on the surface. She had grown weary of being surrounded in wealth earned by others, and declared she'd henceforth only live surrounded in wealth she earned herself. Taking wing, she set off for the surface to start her journey. Since then, the world has been rather kind to Glittergold. With her powerful magic and eye for value, she's become a real asset to adventuring parties when not just leading her own, and said keen eye for value has seen her earn her keep in sparklies and precious gold. Unfortunately, she's found her road to riches hindered by a large obstacle: as much as she loves GAINING riches, she also loves SPENDING them, especially since there's just so much to spend her riches ON. And thus, her journey continues, into the darkest corners of Equestria, in search of stability, peace and vast, vast hoards of treasure... Character Summary: Glittergold is greedy, vain and selfish. That's not a snub, it's a fact of life. Glittergold is completely open about it, too: she'll flaunt her financial superiority at every opportunity, and freely state she's in it to get filthy rich. She's even developed a spell all her own to assist her in finding valuable ores, which she's called 'Oreseeker', to help her get to where she wants to get! She'll also blatantly state that she's in the business for her own good, and there are few things she would not do if there was a big, fat cheque waiting for her at the end of the road. However, she's not heartless. Glittergold has a firm sense of what's right and wrong, and has no problem turning on those who would have her perform atrocities. Despite her snootiness, she's also a gentle and friendly pony, always up for spending the time she's not spending at work making friends or hanging out with them. To use her own words, 'Friendship is a treasure on par with the most massive hoards of gold, and only a fool wouldn't nurture it'. She has no problem helping others deal with whatever issues plague them, from a kidnapped foal to a kitty stuck in a tall tree, especially if there's some compensation at the end. She also has no trouble performing 'charitable work' for those she has grown close to. In addition, while she is vain and snobbish, Glittergold is an immensely hard worker. Moreso then her foppish looks and immaculate style would suggest, she's not afraid to get her hooves(and the rest of her as well) dirty to accomplish her goals. She's not afraid to venture into the darkest parts of Equestria and raid dungeons for loot...in fact, she relishes the challenge. Both tenacious and strong-willed, she'll take risks to get the rewards she seeks, and stare down even the nastiest of shadowy creatures if they make the mistake of getting between her and treasure. Her continued primness is owed to Glittergold saving the fussing over her looks until AFTER her adventures: she bathes regularly and makes sure she's properly groomed when able to. She's even stated that she's completely unrecogniseable to others if she lets her mane down and takes off her adornments. That said, when she has an off-day, she STICKS with it. Glittergold also knows the value of taking it easy, and can be found lounging about and enjoying herself when she's not en-route to someplace. On occasion, she'll even take some time off of her adventuring schedule to visit her friends, though if she can coincide said visits with her adventures it's all the better. It's during these days that she might simply decide not to style her mane, and leave it hanging down. Glittergold will also readily boast about her Cutie Mark: she acquired it after her research into the Oreseeker spell. She'd hidden small chunks of ore around her room, and experimented with her spell. Days upon days of experimentation and refining followed, never settling for less...she wanted to get this spell JUST right. Tweaking the power, adjusting the frequency, diffrent states of mind...she tried everything! Then, one day, she got it. Using the right shade of power, hitting the right frequency, clearing her mind of all else, she got it! Her eyes turning solid blue for the duration of the spell, she could see clearly where all the ore she had hidden was...it glowed gold, rendering their hiding places translucent. It was then, upon the perfection of the Oreseeker spell and the final commitment to her cause, that her Cutie Mark manifested upon her flanks. For the record, Glittergold is my attempt at making a non-Sue Alicorn. I know many have failed in this endeavor before, but it just wouldn't do to not try! Any parallels to Wario are completely intentional. Judge her as though she were an applicant for The Mane RP...if the mod-staff's okay with it, and she passes muster, I JUST might consider playing her there too. Hence the request for additional scrutiny: I leave no jobs half-done, and want every character I make to be done well and according to guidelines.
24. Edit made. Now listed as Crossover. ...also, why the two back-to-back posts, if I may ask?
