Arrow held her cheesy grin until Sheriff Silverstar had left the conversation. She let it out with a satisfying exhale, for she wasn't in trouble... yet, anyway. After Nova gave the Sheriff assurance that they'd be alright, Jonagold spoke up to Golden and invited her over in their journey. It appeared that Golden still didn't know exactly what they were doing.

Arrow gave the small lashing she had tried so hard to hold inside. "Yeah, what are we waiting for, guys? Let's get going with this flying." Arrow peered at Golden and gave a needless bark. "You better not slow us down, missy, ya hear? Let's go!" Arrow was beginning to get impatient.

If Jonagold's idea was anywhere close to being worthy of trying, Arrow wasn't going to miss it for the world. She disagreed, however, with Jonagold's implication that Cloudburst would be of any help. She viewed Cloudburst as a waste of a pegasus pony, lazy and uninspiring. She believed if she had wings, she would do more in one day than Cloudburst has ever done in his life. "Are you sure we should be wasting our time with Cloudburst, Jona?"

  2. Funny, this vote generated far fewer votes, but spurred much more discussion.

So a majority agrees on Owl's Well being the worst. Well, if anything it was a missed opportunity. I would like to have seen the conclusion be left open, with conflict remaining between Spike and Owloicious. It leaves the door open for a lot of humorous conflict down the road, and contrasts well with the shoe's usual saccharine conclusions.

That would never have been an option for a show called "Friendship is Magic," lol.

Plus, I remember stating at the time that we wouldn't see Owloicious ever again, and people disagreed with me. I still doubt we'll ever see him.

  3. Well, semis should be the most popular 12 episodes. Could you honestly rank Bridle Gossip and Sonic Rainboom below 12? I do think Rainboom is overrated, but I think it gets a place in the top 12. This section turned out sorta weak, IMO. Semifinals B will be brutal and heart-rending.

Im not sure if you mentioned this in another thread, but how did you go about seeding them?

  4. If yall dont know me very well, you should know that I am very much into sports. Pretty much anything is fun to watch, as long as it's truly competitve. I also happen to be a huge motor racing fan. Sure, NASCAR, but formula 1 and NHRA drags also fill my love for spectation competition. For this reason, the cast character Madden is probably my pony persona.

Whether race car drivers are considered athletes or not, doesn't really matter to me. The point is that they are doing something professional that I can only dream to do.

Here are some of my favorite sports moments as a spectator:

Yeah, I like auto racing. But right now my Texas Rangers are first on my heart right now.

You guys see this highlight last week? I couldn't believe it! Worst call ever...

It wouldn't have been so bad if it wasn't the bottom of the 19th inning. That's right, you read me right. They were tied 3-3 all the way to the 19th inning, and this is how it ended. It's a shame really. Oh well...

Also, I can't post a reply in this thread without mentioning the NFL lockout being lifted. Living in Dallas, you'd think I would be apart of Cowboy nation, but I have always loved the Broncos first. plus, the Cowboys suck and Dallas' fans are the worst fair-weathered fans I have ever met. It looks like Dener is gonna trade Kyle Orton out, so Tim Tebow looks like he's going to be given the starting QB test this year. Can't wait to see how well he does.

  5. Forgive me for being competitive, but I really hope Bridle Gossip goes down the tube on this one.

It's a great episode with a great Fluttershy-Pinkie moment. But overall, I would not call on of the best, not really even close.

Same can be said for Sonic Rainboom, but it's storyline graphs itself to Rainbow's character background. Rainbow Dash is know for her Sonic Rainbooms, Flutterly is not know for her deep voice.

  6. What's my least favorite episode? Feeling Pinkie Keen? Which episode needs to be at 20% cooler? I voted Owls Wells That Ends Well. It really isn't the same question. Feeling Pinkie Keen is my least favorite because of the it's structure compared to other episodes, but I don't think it needs to be 'better.' They could've done a lot more with Owls Well That Ends Well.

Also, what's wrong with Over a Barrel? It's introduces a new pony community (very well), there's Braeburn, the conflict between the species was kept with strong tension, even though its just a cartoon, Rainbow Dash was freakin' adorable in this episode, and it's really the only episode where lower-tiered characters make a bigger difference in the actual plot of the episode. Sure Pinkie's song leaves something to be desired, but it's not that bad. It was meant to be unliked, and if more was added to the song, it could've been a great song.

What made me love Over a Barrel even more after the fact was listening to a rip of it's soundtrack. Listening to it made the me appreciate the episode even more.

(try listening to it without the video.)
  7. So far, no official word on episode titles has been revealed. A couple have listed a title for episode 19, "Putting Your Hoof Down." It's suspected that it was a fake title, but a realistic one even at that.

I was wondering, what other possible title names can we see? Usually a MLPFiM episode title will be a play on words from a saying, something in pop culture, or even reference to other shows and movies. Sometimes, they almost imply the mane character they represent as well. Let's see how creative we can get. Let's make a list of mock episode titles.

    "Beard the Dragon"

    "Going the Extra Hoof"

    "Never Say Pie"

    "Saddle Your Own Canoe"

    "The Grass is Always Tastier"

    "Hay it, Don't Spray It"

  8. What I'm now understanding is that some people are voting according to their nostalgia. This is fine, but if I we're to vote for nastalgic feelings, I would have voted for Winter Wrap Up as well. It just "takes me back" to the time I first watched ponies. I had watched the ponies in order from the pilot, and that episode had me hooked on ponies forever.

I voted for At the Gala, simply because I feel the song was ingeniously put together and has it's own catchiness, once it grows on you.

I also just realized I forgot "Hush Now, Quiet Now," which is a pretty good song. So I edited the poll. I took out Pinkie's Gala song that had no votes and replaced it with "Hush Now, Quiet Now." ...I know, I'm surprised it let me change it too. I wonder if it would let me change options that have been voted for...

In any event, I've allowed you to change your mind if you so choose.

Arrow waited for some kind of humiliated response from the newly introduced filly. At this moment, Arrow was guilty of setting up a verbal conflict. Fortunately for the time being, Golden Delicious didn't seem phased by her remark. But then in Arrow's amazement, she returned an adorable smile and replied with a half-hearted compliment about her hat, giving gesture to the fact that it was worn so erroneously. Arrow jumped to conclusions in thought. How dare she poke fun at me like that. She was about ready to burst and lash out negative comments with no regard of feelings towards the little filly. Arrow wasn't always a bully to others younger than her nor was she somepony who lacked the ability to meet new ponies. There was just something about Golden that twisted Arrow's tail in a direction she did not much like. She leaned forward in an attempt to interject a verbal lashing. But before she could, the law himself intervened into the situation.

Arrow was very surprised that Jonagold told the first lie of the day. Usually on these adventures, Arrow would be the one using her tongue as a manipulative diving board. She wasn't mad though, as it kept the magnifying glass off herself. The last thing she needed was an older pony, especially the Sheriff, weeding out her lies and confronting her, asking for the facts of her day. And it certainly wouldn't have been the first time the Sheriff dealt with Arrow's rowdy personality.

Just then, Arrow realized her situation. According to the older ponies at the Salt Block, Miss Arrow Plain was sent home on the account of her trying to sneak into the bar and use the house piano as a launchpad for her first flying trick. What if the bartender had told the Sheriff? What if he knows I'm not supposed to be out here? Arpy considered the choices. She thought about running. She thought about begging for mercy. Heck, she even thought about flying away as a possibility. But since none of those options seemed feasible at this current juncture with her friends and acquaintances all together she decided to do it the way she usually does it, play it cool. Arrow removed her hat.

"Howdy, Sheriff!" Arrow refused eye contact but addressed him positively. "Yup, we're just buildin' a kite to see how high we can fly." Arrow knowingly paused. "IT. How high we can fly IT." Arrow grinned playfully, trying to bluff away the detection of their mischief.

  10. I know I may have made up some of the titles to the songs, that's just my two cents.

I also know that 7 of these 10 songs wont even be close to being the best song. But I thought I'd list them anyways so that people could vote for their favorite, even if it's obscure. Also, I didn't want to allow people to vote for 2 or 3, because they would probably pick the same songs.

Let's see which song is truly the best song. It's really between "Suited For Success," "Winter Wrap Up," and "At the Gala."

  11. I just want to express how excited I am to see that the general RP activity in the heat of the summer has been hot, no pun intended.

Well, maybe it was intended, but I just think it's great to see so much enthusiasm on the forum RP threads and such and I wanted to share my thoughts and reflections about the community. Of course there are inactive threads here and there, it's important to always look up for more creative ideas.

I'd like to personally encourage people to be constantly talking about new RP ideas. Talking about future RP threads is one of the most successful ways to get a RP rollin'. So don't be bashful!

    Name: Applejack

    Sex: Female

    Age: Mare

    Species: Earth Pony

    Pelt Color: Sweet Apple Orange

Mane/Tail/Markings Color & Style: Mane and tail worn mostly straight and natural with the ends tied. Golden blonde colored hair, but I ain't a dunce. I also wear a stetson hat, I never leave home without it.

    Eye Color: Granny Smith green.

Cutie Mark: Three plump red delicious apples plucked right off their trees.

Physique: Average sized, but stronger than most ponies. Why, if I didn't know no better, I'd say I'm the top athlete in all of Equestria.

Origin: Born and raised on the farm with my big brother Big Macintosh and my Granny Smith. When I was just a little filly, I decided to try my luck finding a living in Manehatten, a bigger apple than the muddy ol' farm I grew up in. But as I soon realized, life in a big city like Manehatten was too sophisticated for my apples and I began feeling more homesick than a golden delicious fallen from its branch in a dark and windy storm. Then one morning, I saw a rainbow pointing back at home to Sweet Apple Acres, and it was then that I knew exactly where I was supposed to be. I came running home that day to be reunited with the family I grew up with and the apple trees. It was then that my cutie mark appeared, and I've been running the farm ever since, drummin' up business for the family.

Roleplay Type: Shoot, Mane RP I reckon.

Occupation: Sales and Operations Manager at Sweet Apple Acres. We sell anything apples from fritters to pies. Me and my brother do most of the work, but occasionally we do need help. Sometimes, I can be a might stubborn about it, too. I'm also a plant team leader for the yearly Winter Wrap Up in the Spring, four years runnin'. I'm in charge of plowing snow off the farmlands, sowing new seeds for the year's crops, and making sure that it's done quickly enough so that the plants can grow large enough by season's end.

Motivation: I love apples. As a youngin', I got pretty sick and tired of 'em. But I was only a runt then. When I realized what my life was to be, it was only then that I understood my highly-tuned knack for high quality apples that make even the most dormant taste buds sing. Every day, I'm looking for different ways to serve apples as a way of sharing the joy of Equestria's most popular fruit, and raise enough money to maintain the farm. A few upgrades to the land would be just swell!

Likes: Apples, my appletastic treats, rodeos, competitions as a chance to display my athleticism, my kin, my best friends, and gettin' dirty without concernin myself with the little things.

Dislikes: Persnickety attitudes, cheaters like that Rainb-, uh, and ponies that make fun of my lifestyle.

Character Summary: About me, huh? Hmmm... Well, while my ego is put to the side, lemme talk about the things I may not be so good at. I can be a might stubborn at times about almost anything, but every dog should have a few fleas. And even on my sunniest days, I tend to have the habit of carelessness and go whole hog when I should probably analyze the details. I can sometimes get others' feathers ruffled when I act like that, even though they themselves should probably not be so concerned with the littlest of things. I look at the big picture.

For instance, last applebuck season, I was determined to finish applebucking all of the trees all by myself since Big Macintosh hurt himself. I bit off more than I could chew, but I was determined to get it all done on my own just so I could prove to myself and everypony that I didn't need their help. But after a few chaotic episodes across Ponyville that were caused by my over-worked personality, I finally gave in to Twilight's plea to help me with my task. With the help of my closest friends, applebuck season was finished within two shakes of a pony tail. I couldn't have done it without them.

When my friend Twilight Sparkle came to Ponyville from Canterlot, I found out that Twilight Sparkle, Rarity, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie and I as friends together represent the elements of friendship. Me specifically, represented honesty when I told Twilight to trust that she wouldn't fall to her death. And... ...gee, if I was humble as a bee, I'd even say I am honest with all of my relationships. I am the loyalist of friends and the most dependable of ponies.

Som'n' that we hold dear at Sweet Apple Acres is our honest Apple family ways. We believe in helpin' each other, whether they're are kin or not. Helping other ponies with their needs is what we love doin'. The Apple family tree is full of ponies that live all over Equestria that love to show their neighbors the sweet comforts of Apple hospitality. Why, there's Big Macintosh, Fiji, Red Gala, Granny Smith, Braeburn, Apple Cinnamon Crisp, Caramel Apple, Applesauce, Apple Chips, Apple Tart, Apple Bloom, Baked Apple, Red Delicious, Apple Fritter, Golden Delicious, Apple Strudel, Apple Brioche, Apple Pie, Apple Bumpkin, and many more!

My lil' sis Apple Bloom can be a hooffull, sometimes. She and her friends are always cuttin' up look for trouble. They call it "crusading," I calls it trouble. I keep telling her that she'll get her cutie mark eventually, but she seems to think she needs to get it now. Unfortunately, for her, getting your cutie mark late seems to run in the family.

My big brother Big Macintosh and I got our cutie marks late as well. But it wasn't a hog-sized surprise to find out that we have a knack for Applebuckin'. My big brother always looked out for me when I was little. If it wasn't for him, I wouldn't be as strong as I am now. Now, even when Big Mac is gone, I can usually handle my own doing most tasks on the farm by myself.

Winona is the farm dog, a border collie to be exact. She's a heap o' help when I need to coral critters into their pens. She's very well trained, and would never hurt anypony. We've raised her since she was a lil' pup.

I spend a lot of time in the orchards takin' care of the thousands of apple trees that are out there. There are a lot of 'em, but I do have my favorites. Like, Redbranch, Greenie, Deciduousam, and of course Bloomberg, who was actually donated to my cousin Braeburn's orchard in Appleloosa. I sure do miss Bloomberg, he was one of the finest trees in Ponyville when he was here.

My friends all think I'm a silly pony. Twilight Sparkle has told me that I am very superstitious. She told me that I overreact when strange things happen. She even said I was shaking in my boots when Zecora came to town. I really don't know what she's barkin' about, me being 'scared' and all. I was thinkin' 'bout the safety of my little sis' Apple Bloom is all. All I do is trust my gut instincts, and trust that if Pinkie's tail's a'twitchin', you better listen.

Now I need to pucker down and finish this census thingy before I get too carried away and miss the day's end. I have several arrangements I need to attend to. I'm a busy as a stump-tailed cow in fly time, and those apples wont buck themselves. If you'd like, we love to have ponyfolk visit our farm every time and again. Come on over anytime and try our apple brown betty. Heh, the desert, not my auntie. See ya'll later!!

These are looking pretty nice! Are you going to shrink them down or is this the actual size? Because they seem a little big compared to the others you posted. Not complaining, just wondering.

I intended for them to be a little larger, because if I can successfully make them transparent and maybe even finished the cropped edges of running Lyra, it would look better in the end, and still not crown the page, IMO. In any event, one can always shrink them down if they feel it's appropriate. Let me fiddle around a little more with Lyra and see if I can compromise to a safe size vs. style. The biggest challenge for Lyra is keeping her size manageable while keeping her noticeable. Her color scheme is actually quite annoying to deal with, lol.

  15. I don't know how to make a picture with built-in transparency. If anypony knows how to do it, please share!

I think all you have to do is erase the background (So there's a gray and white checkered background instead of the color) and save the image as a PNG file. :P

What program though. I have GIMPshop, which is GIMP modified to act more like PhotoShop. I know you can't make transparencies in MSPaint (or can you?). I'm just not sure how to fill the transparency option.
