  1. GUESS I SHOULD BE POSTING HERE TOO.

I know a lot of people have been wondering, "Where has Ashi been?"

I'm currently staying with Tam and his wife Nahima in Kentucky. I was here to scope out the area, see if I wanted to move 'round here. Well I had my vacation time, been here about a month, it's finally time for me to go back home. What happened was I came here on a free ride with no way back. Luckily for me I had some friends take up the challenge to drive my car down from ND to KY to pick me up and I drive them back. They will be here some time of the 26th, be around a few days, gotta leave for sure by the 29th so we're home in time for them to get back to work and for me to see my doctors.

Well I also am very very VERY hard pressed for cash since I've spent every penny I make while I've been staying here. So the past week I've been working on FA to drill through my commissions and make a stable buffer to make the trip back home and afford my bills when I get there. So that's why I haven't been around.

Progress on the forums is for fun sadly, and fun has to wait until after work. So I'll be actively working here some time at the start of May. C:

Just for any of you who were wondering what in the world was going on~ lol I'll be back as soon as I can working on more creative stuff for the RP world and what not. Just be patient please! <3

    I'm just glad you're ok! ^_^

Equestria and all of the ponies in it will be here when you come back.

Until then, take care of yourself!

"Great! No rush though, I have my own business to keep." Granola points back to her cart and then turns towards it. The moment her eyes caught view of her cart, she could see everypony near it avoiding it and shaking with fear, while Precious grew a large cute innocent smile as indication that he wasn't doing anything wrong. Why is everypony freaking out? Granola wondered. She turned back towards Carrot, Precious restarting his terrorism. "Tomorrow, I'll be doing my business here like I always do. Let's meet again in the morning and make a deal!" Granola turns and trotted away happily without a response, as she felt none was needed.

Precious regained his innocence and swooned as Granola approached the cart. "Who's a good boy? Who's a good boy?" Granola awarded Precious' 'good' behavior with her attention and a treat. "Since you were so good while I was gone, I'm going to give you a nice juicy ponyfly!" Granola opened a stashed vented box and quickly grabbed a live ponyfly by the wings using her teeth. She then let it go, but kept it in reach of Precious' range. Precious stretched his stem out and made a short hop, flower pot and all, towards the flying insect. Groar! CHOMP! Precious, having successfully captured his prize, relaxed to his original position. "That's a good boy," Granola encouraged. Tiny cries for help could still be heard inside of Precious' mouth.

  3. Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle, Scootaloo, Gummy, Angel, Opalescence, Winona, and Spike should all be pawns on an 8 by 8 set.

With the earth ponies Pinkie Pie and Applejack as rooks,

Pegasus ponies Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy as knights,

Unicorns Twilight Sparkle and Rarity as bishops,

and Celestia and Luna as Queen and "other queen"...

    Honestly though,

    I can't believe we're talking about a MLPFiM chess set X-)

  4. I actually had thought about this the other day, and wondered who had written what myself, but never got around to compiling a list. Some episodes are definitely written better than others and some writers seem to be better at character development than others. Amy Keating Rogers and M.A. Larson seem to be on my most favorite list along with Faust. It's kinda amazing that Fullerton wrote such a successful episode as Suited for Success, but flopped with Bird in the Hoof. But now that I look back on them, there was less actual character development in either episode so much as situational exposure, I suppose.

And I actually did do a list earlier this week. I first listed the episodes in order from my favorite to least favorite. This was the hardest part. However, I tried not to nit-pick it because I was just trying to get a general idea of which head writers I would enjoy the most. As it turns out, M. A. Larson was towards the top of the list. However, not enough episodes have been made to truly distinguish the good writers from the best writers. As for least favorite writer, Chris Savino, who has only authored two episodes, sunk at the bottom. It was important for me to list the episodes before I discovered the writers of each episode so that I would not be biased towards any one writer. Lauren Faust was surprisingly, 'middle of the row' for me.

But really, every episode deserves some degree of awesomeness.

  5. Granola steadily deciphered the colt's accent and then reacted positively. "Yes! Is there any way I could take a dozen of them off your hooves?" She stopped herself from assuming too much and didn't want to be rude. "That is, if you're willing to sell them." Granola was willing to part with some of her spare bits to get her own hooves on a solid row of healthy wild carrot flowers for her experiments. She continues to be oblivious of the ferocious nature her pet venus fly trap was displaying out of her peripheral vision.

  6. BAM

Just explain who you are. Fair warning, I post a lot of feminist articles and throw fits about everything. AND FARMVILLE. ADD ME ON FARMVILLE for the love of God I need to expand my farm... :C

I used to play Farmville, but then my computer crashed and I couldn't play it. I went through some serious withdraws during that time. And by the time I got a new computer I had no interest in Farmville.

Because of Farmville, my Facebook account is pretty much trash. I have over a hundred friends who are people I dont even know. I added them just so I could get more gifts and upgrades on that pointless ENDLESS game.

I know I can clean it or start over, I'm much too lazy, and besides, Facebook isn't cool anymore.

  7. Also, when Fluttershy tries to feed Philomena(sp?) the medicine, she says "Always works" and looks in the direction of the 3rd person. I think this is the first time any character has ever said something directly to the audience.

Pinkie Pie actually was directly talking more or less to the audience at the end of the pilot episode second half when the screen was closing around her...and I'm pretty sure Spike was 'partly' addressing the audience with regards to the lack of a 'nickname' for Twilight in Bridle Gossip. As stated above, there's been a LOT of these throughout...:)

well, yes it's easy to address like PP did at the end of the pilot. And in Spike's talking about Twlight's horn, 5 other ponies were in the room. It was just odd that in the middle of an episode, Fluttershy looks towards the screen, when she and Philomena are the only characters in the scene, unless you want to suggest that the other cottage critters are watching all of this.

it'd be cool if they, in future episodes, used this small element to create a little more fun out of the story.

Note: I am not suggesting that the show be more candid, like the office, as in "Surf's Up" (good movie, though). I'm just thinking about simple things, like when Twilight asks Spike who he's talking to, and he says "Them!" Only it's not background ponies...

  8. Anyone notice the clock at the beginning?

Fluttershy says that her date she's late for is a brunch in Celestia's honor.

    Who serves brunch at 4:00pm?

Also, when Fluttershy tries to feed Philomena(sp?) the medicine, she says "Always works" and looks in the direction of the 3rd person. I think this is the first time any character has ever said something directly to the audience.

  9. a few things I realized the second time I watched the episode:

    - Why does AJ seem to have a british accent in Manehatten?

    - Why does it seem like the core 6 are keeping a secret from the CMCs (their expression when they finally find RD)

    - during the credits of the two-part link, HUB is advertising a cutie mark marathon that is happening right now as I post this. According to the tv guide, it's the four CMC episodes, including the new one, back-to-back-to-back-to-back. I don't think I could find any better way to spend my Saturday morning. Too bad I don't have the channel. This might mean more FiM marathons in the future!

  10. if we are to believe that the sun rises in the East like it does here on Earth, then Sweet Apple Acres would be East of Manehatten, as it was in the direction that the sun rose when AJ was looking out the window before RD's event took place.

We might be able to use the enviromental clues from each of the characters' backstories to help us map equestria based on where they were.

  11. You could also delve deeper into his history (make some up) about how he found his cutie mark, past events that he has announced, and perhaps future dreams? A new stadium, or perhaps a bigger event for all of Equestria that he dreams of announcing for?

I struggle a little bit with trying to not over-do it. He wouldn't be too much fun if he literally lived, breathed, ate, slept sports. So as far as his dreams? I fell like his dream job has pretty much been met.

I definitely plan to update his backstory with deeper material. But I'd rather add it when I feel an inspiration I see in his character arising, and not write it now just to put something down.

  12. definately Baby Derp...

    My thoughts:

    - This is the best episode of the series so far (for FiM fans), bar none (IMO)

    - Fluttershy wasn't as cute as I was imagining, but she was more realistic of a character, and I'm beginning to think that she is the oldest of the core 6.

    - The core 6's younger-self ranked by cuteness IMO: (they were all adorable)

    1. Twilight Sparkle

    2. Applejack

    3. Fluttershy

    4. Pinkie Pie

    5. Rainbow Dash

    6. Rarity

    - Addressing the problem with RD being the "center of friendship," perhaps there was something that aided RD's stunt that made her cutie mark appear, and that same element (appearing as a rainbow) aided other ponies across Equestria to get their cutie marks (of course, not limiting it to just the main characters). This hypothesis is probably too deep for consideration of a children's show. I don't think we can crown RD the "Cutie Mark Queen" just yet.

    - This episode should be required for watching when creating an OC in the RP forums, because I think it will help bronies create background stories for their character(s). One of the most frustrating things I've experienced when making a character is explaining their cutie mark backstory. The storyboard in this episode does a great job outlining what a cutie mark story should sound like and may also inspire bronies' creativity in their chracter(s).
