1. I would throw my hat into the ring, except for the part where all of my 'mons are used and leveled exclusively to take on the gym leaders/elite 4 (see: two dark types, a flying, an ice, a grass and a fighting type), so any decent team could probably kick my butt. Get back to me when I'm not up against a bunch of type-specific teams and had a chance to level some mons I actually want to level (see: MY STARTER! PIGNITE! He's been sitting in the box almost the entire game because everything has been strong against Fire!)
2. I forgot that I taunted everyone with a gift-wrapped item. No one's guessed it by the way. Anyway, I think I might have found an excuse to use the Pyro (which I don't use) and the Third Degree (which I also don't use) There's a little site called "mlptf2mods" that has a bunch of, well, TF2 mods with a MLP theme. Well, there's one that replaces the normal guitar riff for the Third Degree's taunt with a clip from Rainbow Factory. And I really, really like that song. There's a couple of other mods on that site that I like as well (the victory song replacers, class icon changers, etc., but I felt like that one deserved special mention. Also, the gift item was a Frying Pan. Add me on steam and shoot me a message if you want it. It's been sitting in my inventory collecting dust since Christmas.
3. As far as I know, yes, this is still open. There's a bit of an issue that the full six person team has been apped, but so far only four of the six have posted in the actual thread. As of right now, the in-character thread is at a bit of a standstill since only three of us are posting, waiting for two more to join and one to start posting again. I'd say make a character in a Word doc or something and wait to see if Kirby says anything about you joining. This is his thread, so I don't want to be all like "Yeah, you can totally join" and then he's like "Nooooo you can't join" and then there's a mess and get up, get on the floor and everybody walk the dinosaur.
4. Pick a day, pick a system, and pick a game I have, and I'm likely to be there. This could actually be rather fun, if others were to join in as well.
5. Sweet Scent was used to people "popping in" on her unexpectedly. However, she's never had any actually just appear out of thin air like that, and was not far behind Reveille in the flying into the air with a loud scream of her own. After realizing he was an ally (see: not a robot), she set herself back down, breathing a sigh of relief. "I'm never going to get used to that," she said shakily. Looking at the group assembled, the team seemed to be shaping up nicely so far. The pony with the massive gun would probably be able to tear through the robots, keeping their attention while the invisible one goes behind them and does... something nasty, surely. Meanwhile, Reveille would be doing... She scratched her hoof behind her head. She knew what she was supposed to be doing: Keeping them alive. But so far, Reveille was the only one it seemed without a gimmick. "Uh, Reveille, if you don't mind me asking: what exactly are you going to be doing during the fight?" She still disliked the thought of fighting, and made a face as she said "fight," but surely the robot invasion was likely to begin soon. She better get used to it, fast. "It's fairly clear what the others are doing," she pointed at each pony in order. "Jaque is going to be going behind them, invisible, doing something nasty I'm sure. The big one has a big gun, that's pretty obvious, but I haven't seen what you're supposed to do yet."
6. I obtained not one but THREE shiny Pokemon in White 2. One of which was Terrakion, which I unintentionally save-scummed for. MFW:
7. I apologize if I've confused you guys by renaming both the OOC and RP threads as CLOSED. I've labeled it as CLOSED so we don't get more people trying to join. I want it to keep going, but I can't do anything if I'm the last one to have posted. In less polite terms: Post darn you!
8. Sweet Scent smiled at the solider as he finished donning his uniform. "Call me Sweet Scent, please. Doctor feels too formal, and not really me." As she lowered herself to the ground, a behemoth of a pony walked in carrying a gun that was easily as big as her. She was used to seeing these kind of ponies up close. Heck, she was even hired to give massages to a few of them. She still felt utter terror at the sight of the massive red stallion. "I trust that you will be healing us on the battlefield doctor." Oh Celestia, she had forgotten for a moment that she was fighting along side them. She was immediately nervous, which was made even worse when she remembered that her job was supposed to be the Doctor. You know, the one that heals them. She felt wrong. Like she wasn't supposed to be there. She wanted to leave, to go home, to curl under her blanket, and pretend that she's not here. But she couldn't. She was here, and her employers made it very clear they weren't going to take "no" for an answer. "I-uh-I-uh..." She tried to think of answer that would satisfy the red pony. "Er, that is, uh, yeah, I suppose I am. Sweet Scent the Doctor, at your service." She forced a small laugh and smile. "It's, uh, good to meet you, Mister, uh..." She trailed off, being very thankful at the moment that they were both on the same side.
9. Hm... It seems a tad much, a zebra-unicron-ghoul, but we can probably figure something out Head on over to the FoE General and we can discuss it there. Unfortunately, this one's starting to get a bit too crowded for my tastes, so I'm going to have to turn you away solely on the basis that there's too many players. We could always start a different thread if you stick around. Also, since you're new to Canterlot, I recommend heading over to the introductions forums first, since I'm pretty sure that's a rule here. Wouldn't want you getting in trouble on your first days here. That goes for anyone else wanting to join this thread. We are NOT taking any more players for Northern Winds. If you want to participate in a FoE Thread, check out the FoE General and we can make something happen.
10. On a somewhat unrelated note, I usually use the colour of my pony for their speech, but I imagine Sweet's colour to be about this colour, which is almost impossible to read. Also somewhat unrelated, are we using this as the OOC? If so, would you mind terribly changing the title to say OOC?
11. As she finished putting on her uniform, the trumpeter finished his song. "Good mornin', Doctor. Glad to see a friendly face." Sweet Scent was confused for a moment and looked around, thinking she had missed someone walking in. She then immediately remembered that she was hired as a Medic and was wearing a doctor's coat. "Oh. Right," she whispered to herself. "Uh, likewise. Sorry, I haven't been a doctor very long. Not used to ponies calling me that," she said softly scratching the back of her neck with a hoof. Sweet Scent noticed his voice crack. Nerves? Maybe. She wasn't sure what job he had been assigned, although the massive flak jacket he was struggling with indicated a job closer to the front lines. Experienced combatant or not, the idea of fighting robots isn't exactly high on the "calming" list for her, so nerves were fully to be expected. "Here, let me help," she said as she gently flew over to the trumpeter, helping lift the heavy clothes onto him. "What's your name, by the way?"
12. It's approaching two weeks since last anyone heard from Imagination. If by Friday, when it has officially become two weeks, and he hasn't said anything, whether it be an RP post or simply "I'm still interested, just busy" or what have you, I will continue under two assumptions: 1: Gridpoint chickens out, choosing to hang out in Frost Point for a bit before going back south. 2: Dark Star, AzureSky's character, was already at Frost Point, sitting in the Lodge for whatever reason. We'll RP him joining, naturally. My next post will be of everyone going inside of the Lodge.
13. Dust kicked up around her hooves as Sweet Scent continued her walk down the road to her assignment, the defense of a place called Coal Town. She still wondered why, out of everywhere else they could possibly attack, the robots chose to attack Coal Town. Even stranger, why were her employers concerned with defending it? Prior to leaving, she did some research of this mysterious "Coal Town," and found it was little more than an old mining facility. Granted, it was the start of the Mane Co company that employed her, but it hadn't been used for a long time. It was probably run down by now, if not completely collapsed. Sweet Scent felt a great number of emotions. "Dread" was the most prominent, as the facility finally came into view. The run down buildings in the face of the giant metal war machine brought little hope to the small mare. She feared the buildings collapsing on her head more than the actual robots that were supposed to be attacking the place, which also didn't help. As the pegasus approached the town, she saw another pony arrive and enter a building with a large metal door. Setting down the pack she was given by her employers, she began to dig through it. She recalled seeing a card in there somewhere, beneath the equipment and clothes given to her to properly be a Medic, as well as some flowers and scented candles she always had. You never knew when one would need a massage, and it was always best to do one with a good smell in the air. After a bit of digging, she finally found the card, which caused the door to slide open. Carrying her pack in her mouth, she was greeted to the sound of the pony she saw earlier playing the trumpet. She stepped inside, the door shutting behind her as it did the trumpeter, and began to unpack. She didn't want to interrupt the earth pony, so she began unpacking silently, first pulling out her "uniform," a large jacket with red crosses adorning the sleeves with a dress shirt and tie underneath. It seemed incredibly high-class for a job that entails a lot of running around, especially on a battle field. With a shrug, Sweet Scent began to put the uniform on.
14. For all you wordy ones out there, here's an interesting little widget: I Write Like analyzes your writing style and compares it to other, famous authors. Put in some stuff, and it tells you the style you mimic. Apparently, my latest post in the Northern Winds FoE RP is similar to J.R.R Tolkien. Which is strange, because I've never read anything by Tolkien. Anyway, enough about me. Show me who you write like! PS: The "code" for the badge it gives you doesn't work on Canterlot, unless I'm doing something wrong (which is entirely possible)
15. Do Strange Rescue Rangers even exist yet? IIRC, when a new weapon comes out, it takes a while for them to release a strange variant of it, if ever. Nope. Try again.
16. That's fair. It's your character, after all. Plus, there's no real set rules on the character making process for FoE, so it's quite alright. My last little thing is that your skills seem rather high. While I did say repeatedly that stats and skills and whatnot are somewhat inconsequential, it bugs the inner rules-lawyer me a little that you have over half of the skills over 70, plus some 40s in there. Those kind of stats seem like they would be better suited for someone around level 10 or higher, as opposed to the level 4 we're starting at. Whether you fix it or not is up to you (and the mods who have to officially approve it), but I personally would like to see it fixed.
17. Considering we're using standard Fallout skills/stats, I'm not sure where to put him, since he seems to only be really proficient in Magic. I suppose you could make another skill and call that one "Magic" and put that close to 100 (Maybe at about 85?) Of course, you might have a different idea where his skills fall. His stats, from what you gave me, seem to me like this: Strength- 3 Perception- 8 Endurance-4 Charisma- 6 Intelligence- 10 Agility- 7 Luck- 3 Once again, stat choices are all yours. You also want to include his equipment. Unless he literally has nothing with him, it can't hurt to point out what he has, even if it is really basic. As for Perks, I would take a look at some other apps for ideas, not only for perks but for other things to include in your app.
18. I'm waiting for Imagination to post. If by the time Azure gets settled and Imagination hasn't posted, I'll just assume that Grid chickened out. I've been trying to be patient and not rush him, since I'm also guilty of disappearing for a long time, but it's starting to drag on.
19. Lucky you. All I got was a stupid Festive Holy Mackerel (which doesn't count for the Milkman set, btw) and it isn't even strange. And for another hint: The item in the gift is a weapon.
20. If I had buds, I'd be using them to trade with. In TF2 land, I'm poor and Irish. Nope, sorry. ... Huo Long's Heatmaker is a gun, not a hat. It can't be unusual. Try guessing an item that exists.
21. Okay, so, for Christmas, I got a bunch of my friends gifts for TF2. However, I later learned that one of my friends already had the item I wanted to give him. So now I'm stuck with a gift-wrapped item in my inventory, and I'm giving it away to you fine people. The first person to guess what's in it, gets the gift. As a hint: Listen to
22. 1: Christmas Event is starting. 2: New Mann vs Machine map. 3: MEDIC IS GETTING A NEW MEDI-GUN!
23. Alas, if only they allowed unoriginal cutie marks...
