  1. Midnight Sun turned back to the page about Border Collies. She levitated the book towards Seaspray and gently lowered it down on the picnic blanket infront of her. The foal carefully stood up so that she didn't disturb the sleeping puppy. She quietly walked up to Seaspray and sat beside her so that Whisperpaw was sat at one side of her and Midnight Sun was sat at the other side. "She's a Border Collie. See, she matches the physical description in every way. Oh, and the picture of course." She explained to her. "Border Collies are working dogs. They were originally bread for hearding sheep and other farm animals." Midnight Sun was enjoying the fact that Seaspray had taken an interest in what she wanted to do research on. Back when the foal lived with her mother, she was the only one who ever had the thirst for knowledge. Her mother wasn't interested in the books she read and so Midnight Sun had gotten used to reading all on her own with nopony interested in reading with her. The fact that Seaspray wanted to know what the foal had found in a book, really brightened up her day. She was connecting with the mare and felt as though that she was with her auntie who lived in Canterlot. Whisperpaw smiled softly as he allowed the two to connect emotionally through interests in the findings of that book. While they were talking, Whisperpaw opened up the picnic basket and began to set the food neatly on the picnic blanket. He took extra care to ensure that all of the food came out looking as good as it did before he even put it in the picnic basket. Once that was done, the stallion snuggled up close to his fiancé. He inhaled her scent and let out a quiet sigh of both joy and relief. "The lunch is ready... Would you like to do the honours of persuading Midnight Sun to leave the book alone so she can eat." He whispered in Seaspray's ear.
  2. Once the mist had completely cleared, Midnight Sun saw another pony in the house. She immediatly recognised the pony to be her mother. But could it be the same pony; the one who had sent her away to live with her cousin for the rest of her foalhood? It looked exactly like her the last time Midnight Sun had seen her. The last time Midnight Sun saw her mother was when her mother was packing Midnight Sun's Saddlebags, back in Manehattan. It had been such a long time. The foal had really missed her mother ever so dearly. "Mother! I've missed you so much!" Midnight Sun spoke as she raced over to the pony and hugged her. Her mother didn't reply. She simply smiled warmly. It was odd. The pony looked like her mother, but she refused to speak or move from the spot where she was stood. All she did was stand and smile. The foal realised that this wasn't really her mother. This was just a part of the magic spell she had cast. This pony was nothing but an illusion created by magic. Her smile faded as she began to slowly walk away from the pony she once believed was her mother. Midnight Sun had got her hopes up, thinking that she was finally going to be taken back to her home in Manehattan. But that just wasn't the case. As she walked away towards the window of the cottage, Midnight Sun spotted a shooting star. She loved shooting stars. The foal's smile returned as the sky seemed to rain harmless shooting stars. She continued to look up to the skies, watching the beautiful sight in the dark sky above her. As she looked up, she could make out clouds in the sky. They were taking the shapes of animals, food items and toys. Midnight Sun loved every second of the beauty going on so high up in the air. She enjoyed it so much that she had forgotten that she had cast a spell that had created such beauty. 'I bet even Whisperpaw will be watching the sky tonight. It, it looks amazing! I wish he'd hurry up and finish helping out those bunnies and their collapsed home. But if he rushed his job, then the bunnies wouldn't be very happy and if they weren't very happy neither would Whisperpaw... I'll see him when he gets back in his own time.' Midnight Sun thought to her self.
  3. Whisperpaw felt the warmth of Seaspray's body against his. He never thought that this day would come. Because of his shy and timid nature, he struggled at the best of times to even make a simple conversation with anypony. But here he was sat down on a picnic blanket with his special somepony leaning against him. What made this day even more special was that he had managed to pluck up the courage to propose. It was like a beautiful dream. He then noticed the way she looked at Midnight Sun. Seaspray asked about the foal's reading habbits. He remembered that time he left Solstice Heights to meet his other aunt who lived in Manehattan to see his little cousin in person for the first time. She had only just learned how to read and when he met her, she had read four children's books and was half way through reading the fifth one. "She's been like that ever since the day she learned how to read... In fact, it can be very hard to get her to put a book down once she's started to read it." He informed Seaspray. "I remember when I visited her on the day she had learned how to read. Her mother couldn't get her to eat anything until she had finished the tenth story book in the series of childrens books." Midnight Sun was too busy reading her book that she didn't even hear the conversation about her reading habbits. The foal read every word in silence. She read the words mentally as she had learned through reading various different books in the past. Midnight Sun read all of the text on the page and ignored the pictures until she was sure that she didn't miss out a single word. Once the text had been processed in her mind, her eyes quickly glanced at the pictures before she turned the page. After reading eight pages, the foal placed her hoof on the photo of a dog. It had the same markings as the puppy that slept peacefully beside her. "So your a Border Collie." She spoke softly to the sleeping puppy. A smile crept up on her face just as she returned to reading the book.
  4. Midnight Sun shielded her eyes as she opened her bed room door. The light was far too bright for the foal. Perhaps she didn't do the spell quite right. She didn't want to be blinded by light. She tried to exit the cottage, but she couldn't see. Her eyes were sore from the brightness that she had exposed her eyes to. She began to think that it was a bad idea picking out an adult spell book when she was still learning basic magic. A thick cloud of purple mist had completely covered the cottage by the time she had opened her eyes. The foal didn't quite understand what went wrong. She decided that there and then, she would leave the cottage and search for her older cousin. But, he could only use animal healing aura magic. He couldn't even levatate a book if he tried. Still, any help was better than no help at all. As she tried to find her way to the front door, Midnight Sun ran head first into the wall. She sat on the floor rubbing her head with her hoof. She could her the sound of Sunset barking and the sound of Whisperpaw's owl hooting. But she couldn't see them. As the mist slowly began to fade, Midnight Sun could see what looked like the outline of a book. How could it be possible? She left The Book Of Spooks in her bed room. This certainly wasn't her bed room. She was in the living room. Midnight Sun rubbed her eyes in disbelief. Yet the book was still there. She touched it with her hoof. It felt like a normal hard back book. She used her magic to levatate the book so she could get a clear view of it. It was titled "A History Of Magic". Midnight Sun never borrowed this book from the library before. In fact, she'd never even seen this strange book before. Was the spell working? Suddenly the floor changed texture. It felt rough in places and smooth in others. Looking down closely, she gould just about make out that she was stood on a floor completely made out of a messy pile of books. They were in her favourite genres. Though the mist was still there it was still fading, making it easier for her to see her own surroundings. Midnight Sun began to swim in the books like she would swim in the sea. Life never felt sweeter than that moment in time. Then she knew that the spell she cast had worked.
  5. Whisperpaw, a pure black unicorn stallion had gone out for the evening to help some bunnies fix their collapsed burrow. Midnight sun, a blue paint foal without any sign of a cutie mark, who happened to be his younger cousin, agreed that she would stay at home and not leave under no circumstances. The foal wasn't the least bit bothered about being left home alone. She had gotten used to her cousin's habbits after living with him for over a month. She understood that it was his job to help out animals and so she accepted that she would spend some time home alone. The foal wasn't exactly home alone. She had Whisperpaw's owl hooting quietly on his perch for company. She also had her border collie puppy, Sunset, to keep her company. On top of that, the foal had also borrowed a rather old magic book from the library. Unlike her cousin, Midnight Sun tended to use magic throughout her every day life. Her magic was more powerful at night and the sun was already starting to set. She was supposed to be asleep, but she was so eager to practice some night time magic before star gazing. Midnight Sun opened the magic book. Dust rose up from the book and into the air around her. She coughed until the dust had settled. The foal began to flick through the pages of the book. She stopped on a page that intrigued her. It was about a spell that would change dreams into reality. Remembering a dream about swimming in books, the temptation was just too great for the foal. And so she cast the spell without taking a moment to think about the consiquences for not only her but the other ponies of Solstice Heights. What would she find when she opened her bed room door? Nopony could expect what was just about to happen.
  6. "Yeah and a special member of the family too." He replied as he untied the picnic basket so that he could remove it from his back. He opened up the picnic basked and pulled out the picnic blanket. The stallion carefully spread out the picnic blanket on the grass in the shade of an oak tree. Whisperpaw had never felt so alive. He had always felt quite dull inside, as though something was missing. When he was just a colt, he assumed that it was his mother and father who had jobs that kept them away from him. But as he grew older, he knew it wasn't them as his aunt in Canterlot read every letter they sent to him. They were thinking about him each and every day. For a while he couldn't think of the solution to this perplexing problem. That all changed on that day he first saw Seaspray. She was the missing link in his life and now they were together. The black stallion sat on the picnic blanket. He was calmly watching Seaspray with his gentle eyes. She was so beautiful and elegant. He liked the way her mane gently flowed in the hushed breeze that refreshed ponies out in the warmth of the day. He loved her beautiful smile and her eyes seemed to enchant him with their mysterious ways. She was a kind soul with such passion in her heart. He couldn't observe her for any longer. Whisperpaw held Seaspray's hoof before kissing her so tenderly on the tip of her nose and then once again on her cheek. The unicorn looked into her eyes and spoke in a tone, so gentle. "You are the brightest star that shines at night. You are the radiant glow of the sunrise. You are the gentle touch of the wind in my mane. Seaspray, you are my everything." Midnight Sun rolled her eyes around at her cousin. She sat on the picnic blanket as she carefully lowered the books onto it with her magic. The foal looked at the puppy and smiled. She wanted to name her. But she was saving the naming ceremony until she had confermation that the puppy was indeed a stray. For a moment, Midnight Sun watched the puppy. She stopped watching when she saw her curl up beside the foal and fall asleep. Midnight Sun opened up the book, Dog Breeds 101, with her hoof. She still didn't know how to open books with magic as of that point in time. But she wasn't bothered about that. Midnight sun wondered if she could find out what breed of dog, the puppy was. It seemed like a good reason to take a look in a book that was all about dog breeds.
  7. I want to make banana cake but I'm not good at baking...

  8. It is so beautiful and it has such good attention to detail. SeanMirrsen did a great job.
  9. Midnight Sun smiled brightly. Seaspray didn't seem to mind being called 'Auntie'. Midnight Sun cantered around happily while holding up her books with magic. She felt as though she had a place in this small area. She felt like she belonged. As she cantered the puppy stayed by her hooves; her tail wagging happily as she could sense Midnight Sun's joy. "She really thinks of you as a part of her family..." Whisperpaw whispered into Seaspray's ear. He was suprised by what his little cousin had said. But it was a nice suprise. It was just like they were one big, happy family. He stayed close to Seaspray as he walked towards the picnic area. A sensation of love seemed to captivate both his heart and his soul. It felt wonderful.
  10. Whisperpaw chuckled softly. He knew that his younger cousin had plenty more to learn about life before she'd understand what true love is. He turned his head back to Seaspray. "Are you ready for the picnic, my dear?" He swiftly kissed her on the cheek once more. Midnight Sun's stomach rumbled loudly. "I'm hungry... I hope we get to eat soon." She said as she looked up at the happy couple. She didn't know what to think of Seaspray. In a way, she was like an aunt, but in another she also had a mothering side. The foal knew her mother couldn't be replaced. But families can have more than just one aunt. She decided to let the word slip. "Auntie Seaspray, surely you must be hungry too!"
  11. Whisperpaw smiled as he quickly put his hooves around her so that he could give her a hug. He kissed her cheek in return. The stallion felt as though he was so happy that his heart had skipped a beat. He saw tears in Seaspray's eyes. They were the most beautiful tears he had ever seen. They were tears of joy. Whisperpaw gently caressed his beautiful fiancé's soft face, gently with the very tip of his horn. "I love you more than I can ever express with words." He told her. Midnight Sun and the puppy looked at the happy couple. They then looked at each other and stuck their tongues out in distaste. "They're going all mushy on us now!" The foal spoke to the puppy as though she was a pony. The puppy let out a tiny yap. Midnight Sun believed that she was agreeing with her in puppy language.
  12. "You... You really do care about me." Midnight sun spoke to the puppy, who was now wagging her tail at the foal. The puppy rubbed her tiny body against Midnight sun. The foal smiled brightly as she lowered the books to the step. She then hugged the puppy who had waited for her. She looked up to Whisperpaw and asked. "Please can I keep her? I'll give her a really good name and I'll train her so that she doesn't leave any accidents in the house." "If nopony claims her in two weeks then she'll officially be a stray dog. And if that happens, then she's yours to keep." Whisperpaw replied. He didn't know if that puppy was someponys missing pet. But if it was just a stray, he didn't mind his cousin having a pet of her own. He gently nuzzled Seaspray. As he did so, he gently slipped a ring onto her horn that he had cleverly been hiding in his mane. The stallion looked into her sparkling eyes as he got down onto one hoof. A gentle, loving smile spread across his face. Whisperpaw believed it was time to ask her the most important question in his life. "Seaspray, will you marry me?"
  13. "Your so clever. I'm sure that your mummy will be proud of you." Gerty told Dinky as she gently ruffled the foal's mane with her hoof. With that, the mare began to set off at a casual pace towards the park. She smiled brightly as she felt the glorious warmth of the sun that was beaming down on Ponyville. It was such a perfect day for a stroll through the park.
  14. "I'm interested in books though. Books only need to be read and do not produce allergens or drewl." Midnight Sun replied. "Besides, Mother's allergic to dogs. I don't want to make her sick when I come back. I'd do that if I owned a dog." Midnight Sun cared deeply for her mother. The foal really wanted a dog, but when her mother first explained her allergy to the foal, Midnight Sun showed compassion and respect by keeping animals as far away from any member of the family as possible. Even when she saw a dog, the foal detached her feelings of desire and love in order to scare it away. "I forgot that auntie's allergic to dogs... But, your living here now. By the sound of that letter I don't think you'll be going back." Whisperpaw replied to the young foal as he had picked up on her interest in dogs. He lead her to the front desk and handed over his library cart to the librarian. She stamped all of the books and returned the card to Whisperpaw. Whisperpaw watched as Midgnight Sun used magic to resume carrying the books. "I think a certain little puppy us waiting for you out there." Whisperpaw spoke softly to Midnight Sun.
  15. I got Pinkie Pie. But I'm not talkative. I get nervous around other people and when they talk to me, I hardly even say a word back to them.
  16. Gerty listened carefully to every word that escaped Applejack's mouth. At the same time, the mare was still piecing together every event that had happened before the accident. She now knew who Valen was once again. Hearing about his negative experiance was quite saddening. Gerty Greetings wanted to make the foal happy again. Applejack clearly felt the same way. But the orange mare was reaching out for help in such a caring manner. Gerty felt as though she would be willing to help. "Of course I'll help you. What are friends for?" She replied.
  17. Gerty was pleased to see the Mayor. The mare was even happier to hear that she wanted to thank Screw Loose for volunteering to paint Town Hall. The mare blushed slightly. She was only happy to help. Screw Loose loved that warm fuzzy feeling she always got after helping somepony out. She liked being thanked for her work, but the mare honestly didn't mind if the pony in question didn't have time to thank her. She just wanted to help out because helping out made so many ponies happy. Everypony must have known that Screw Loose loved making others smile and laugh. The mare kindly waited for Gentle Sol and the Mayor to get aquainted. "Aww, you don't have to thank me. I just wanted to make Town Hall look nice so that other ponies would see how beautiful it is and feel really happy about it." The mare explained.
  18. Gerty lead Dinky out of the house. The mare locked the door after the foal was safely out of the house. Gerty Greetings looked at Dinky. She smiled as she said. "Before we go anywhere, I want to know if you know the rules of walking to different places. Do you know the most important one for walking near crouded areas where big carts are pulled back and forth?" The mare wanted to be sure that the foal knew how to be safe outside.
  19. Whisperpaw smiled as he felt a kiss gently touch the tip of his nose. He shifted Seaspray's mane out of his eyes. He wanted to look at them once more. The stallion gazed into her eyes, before kissing her every so gently on her nose. Whisperpaw loved her so very much. She was such a beautiful mare. The stallion had noticed that the puppy was waiting outside of the library on the old stone steps. He knew that the puppy wasn't waiting for him or Seaspray. She was waiting for Midnight Sun. Perhaps Midnight Sun could take care of this puppy while Whisperpaw made posters to announce that they had found a lost pup. When they entered the building, Whisperpaw heard his dear filly friend ask him about how often he visited the library. "I come in here to get books when I know there's a storm on the way. Epistola likes to hear me reading to him. It keeps him calm and it keeps me calm too." He replied in a hushed tone. Midnight Sun felt at ease in the library. But now she had met that beautiful puppy, she wanted to know more about dogs. She scowered the shelves and ued magic to bring a few books down. In the end, the foal had picked out five books that she desired to read. The books were titled 'Astronamy - Birth of the stars', 'Tips on dog ownership', 'Magic lessons - Opening different objects', 'A history of Magic' and 'Dog breeds 101'. The foal levitated the books back to where she had left the happy couple. She looked up at the pair and whispered. "I've found the books I want to read."
  20. Midnight Sun used her magic to throw the stick for the puppy. At first, she thought that fetch was a pointless game for the simple minded puppy. But after a while, she began to enjoy playing Fetch. She enjoyed it so much, that the foal didn't even notice the library in front of her. "Yes, that's the library." Whisperpaw replied. He looked over to Midnight Sun and saw that she was too busy playing to see the building, Whisperpaw smiled as he turned back to Seaspray. The stallion nuzzled her gently. When the puppy became tired out and started to pant heavily, the foal stopped throwing the stick. She looked ahead of her and saw the library. "We're here!" She spoke in an excited tone. "See you later puppy... I've got to find a good book or two... Or three... Or four...." Midnight Sun ruffled the fur on the puppy's head with her hoof. She then ran up to the building.
  21. "Well, there's tons of things to do... There's seet treats at Sugarcube Corner, the park is in full bloom at this time of year, there's a library nearby and everypony is friendly." Screw Loose explained. "I almost forgot to mention that you only have to say hello and ponies will be so eager to speak, apart from shy ponies." Screw Loose flipped the lid back onto her paint tin. A large smile spread across her face. Her work was complete and it was just in time. She had a new friend and this friend wasn't frightened away by her frightening mane. Many ponies would often question what happened to her for her mane to stand on end in certain places. So, this was a pleasant suprise.
  22. "I hate to admit it... But, she's right. My job isn't to help out lost pets." Whisperpaw sighed softly. He wasn't used to his cousing stating a true fact and putting him in his place. Usually, she just couldn't find a way to correct him in his own line of work. The stallion wasn't taking it to heart though. After all, she was only a foal who could state a few correct facts. He knew more about Solstice Heights that the little city foal who wasn't too fond of animals or so it seemed. Midnight Sun smiled. She felt so good to be right about adult pony jobs. She dusted her self off as she savoured the moment. Just then the puppy strolled up to her and began to nudge her. "What do you want from me?" She asked, sounding annoyed by the communication efforts of the animal. The puppy ran off into the bushes and returned with a stick. "What am I supposed to do with a stick?" The foal asked, sounding confused. "She wants you to play. Its called fetch. You throw the stick and she runs of to get it. Then the puppy will bring the stick back to you for you to throw it again." The stallion explained. "I guess I can do that... But no more puppy drewl!" Midnight Sun replied, sounding cautious.
  23. "Well that's part of the joke! Its a joke joy buzzer with no buzz. I made it my self!" Screw Loose replied. "Its nice to meet you too!" Screw loose chuckled happily as she began to bounce around. The blue mare was full of joy. It was very rare that any pony would see her looking sad because she seldom wore a frown. In fact, the mare was twice as happy as usual. This was because she had successfully made a pony laugh. Laughter was music to her ears and smiles made her want to smile. "So, what brings you to Ponyville?" She asked as she stopped bouncing
  24. Hey! It's ten past one in the morning! And... They're coming to take me away Haha! They're coming to take me away, hoho, hehe, haha! To the funny farm, where life is beautiful all the time! And I'll be happy to see those nice young men in their clean white coats... And they're coming to take me away haha!
  25. (I don't have any filly or colt OC's... But I do need to Role Play my MLP FiM Cast character, Screw Loose, more often.) Screw Loose was happily enjoying the wonderful Ponyville weather. Her white coat was covered in paint splatters as she had just finished painting a fence for another pony she knew. The mare's screw cutie mark seemed to shine in the light of the day. Her grey mane and tail were both very messy and out of place, making her look like she had only just got out of bed. However, she mare actually brushed both mane and tail every day. But both always ended up sticking up, even after some intense brushing or after a hot bath. But the blue earth pony had accepted that her mane and tail represented a part of who she was as an individual. Screw Loose spotted a new colt in Ponyville. She had come up with a new performance joke and couldn't wait to try and make him laugh. Of course, she wanted to joke around before her introduction. As an unusual comedian, Screw Loose always liked to leave pony folk laughing and this was too great of a oppertunity. On her way towards the colt, Screw Loose forced her body to shake in a manner that suggested she was being electricuted. Her mane and tail seemed to add a convincing effect on that gag. The mare then stopped dead infront of the colt and began to shake his hoof. On her hoof was a joy buzzer which she was itching to use for quite a long time. "This is my electrifying welcome to you. I'm Screw Loose, the comedian with a different style to most. I also do odd jobs for pony folk because I like to help out where I can. What's your name?" She spoke to him in an up beat tone as she let go of his hoof.
